Fun location with a short walk from the small parking area to the house. May be a little challenging for people with mobility issues. Check in process was easy. Nice little picnic table set up to eat right at the waters edge. Water pressure in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom were very weak and there were no check out instructions but John and Barb responded in a timely manner. Would stay again.
This property was a perfect little lakeside spot for my friends and I to spend the weekend. The deck by the water is so relaxing and the house itself is comfortable and well equipped.
Home away from home! Great place on the lake. Property was fully stocked and owner very accommodating. Be prepared for stair walking with many decks. Renting a golf cart to get up to the house from the shared parking area is a must when you have luggage and groceries for a week’s stay. Well worth it for the views and fire pits on multiple decks. Would definitely stay here again!
We had a great weekend. The lake was beautiful. We had a lot of fun kayaking and using the canoe. It was very quiet and peaceful.
The kitchen had ecerything we needed and the house was a good size for the 6 of us.

Beautiful scenery. Not walking friendly.
Not an easy walk to get to house or lake for seniors.
The location of this property is just beautiful! The view from the front deck is wonderful! The home was clean and well stocked. We did bring out own linens and towels. You do have to cross a foot bridge from the parking area to the island and there are stone / block steps to get up to the house. He had a very nice stay and would definitely rent again. We did have to modify our stay and remove a night, which was not refunded to us.
Barb and John are great hosts; very warm and responsive. The home has a stunning view of the lake. Depending on your style and needs be mindful there is no dishwasher, or laundry and you have to take your own sheets and towels. We did all that and had a good time. Lots of day trips in and around the area. Big Y for groceries was great.
We really enjoyed our stay; it was exactly what the doctor ordered. I loved that it was very close to a rails-to-trails path, which my son and I took advantage of. It was also very close to the Old Mill Pond Village Shops, which was a wonderful find for us. This was a hidden vacation area that we were unaware of, that was so close to home. Usually we'd have to travel great distances to get such a relaxing view, but for us, it was not very far. We loved it! And Barb is very communicative and was there for our every need.
We had a lovely time at the lake! The house was very clean, and the hosts were so nice. It was a perfect place for our family. Our grandchildren didn’t want to leave.
I was blown away by how clean and nice the property was. Barb was super accommodating and my family was able to have a great Six Flags experience and come back and rest properly.
My family had a great week at this house! We enjoyed swimming, kayaking/ canoeing, and used the fire pit. Accommodations were very comfortable, and TV had access to lots of movies. Would definitely visit again.
The house was nice and had a great view of the lake. We even saw some bald eagles! Weather wound up being too cold to go in the water, but we enjoyed hanging out in the cozy living room and looking out on the lake. The lack of linens is inconvenient, but we came prepared and it worked out fine. We didn't see the hosts but they gave us all the info we needed.
Great place for a college reunion. Very comfy setting! Relaxing!!
Great location. The only struggle is the hike up to the house. Leaves weren’t cleaned up and it was pouring when we arrived which made it a little treacherous. The walkway and staircase has broken bricks. Overall the home was very clean, comfortable and a great place for friends and family getaways.
Beautiful location on the water. House is everything as advertised. We had a great time. The deck and firepit area and dock are three distinct and great places for morning coffees or evening drinks. Yes, the house is on an "island" with a small foot bridge and stairs/ramp up to the house, but having to carry your things for a minute is well worth it! Great place, Fair price, good people. Hope to return one day!
The house was comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very responsive. The dock and lake were perfect.
Repairs are needed but when we mentioned the sliding screen door they ordered a new one.
I packed sheets and towels but hadn’t noticed the lack of washer and dryer.
The owner accommodated us. Our dog and grandchildren had a great time.
This summer, we three friend have travelled throughout New England every other weekend. This is our 6th house and by far the best house experience we have had all summer. The listing was pretty accurate - although not a good warning about how hungry the mosquitos were in the evening. We kayaked/canoed each morning on the lake, and it was awesome. We ending up biking for 2 days in Connecticut which was awesome and 1 day of tubing on the Deerfield.
We would definitely come visit this home again.
We loved the multiple outdoor spaces. The top deck was great for meals, we made s'mores at the fire pit and just lounged on the deck by the water. The kitchen had everything we needed for the week. We appreciated the canoe and kayaks.
As others have mentioned there is a steep hill to traverse to get to the house. There were wagons available to help us move our groceries in.
All in all the listing and photos were very accurate and I appreciated the additional steps the owners took to make the house safe like the new disposable plastic mattress covers for each of the beds.
The Lake and The house were both great!! Inside was great and the view from the deck was unbelievable. This house worked for us as we are healthy active adults and our children are also very active. With that being said, loading and unloading the car is pretty tough process. You have walk over a bridge and up a hill to get to the house. This could be hard for the elderly and very young children. The stairs that go to the lake are very steep and could be treacherous for the older family members, or parents trying to bring infants/toddlers. Overall the house was great.

About the host

We are a couple who met in college and have been married for 40 years. We love coming to the house and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful environment. We are planning to both be retired soon.
Why they chose this property
When we saw this unique private island, we were mesmerized by the expansive views, we knew we found a peaceful home. It is great for boating and fishing or just relaxing.
What makes this property unique
We love the private features of island living, compared to the congestion of being on a main road. The views are unbelievable....You can kayak or enjoy the canoe. We have a private dock and you can bring your boat or jet ski. It feels like you are in a cabin in the woods, but with lake views. Best of ALL worlds!
