Log Home on Circle Lake - Now with Pickleball Court!

Vacation in a Gorgeous Log Home out in the Country on Beautiful Circle Lake!
We have tons of amenities, but everyone's favorite is the Lake! A close second are the Lake toys, including 2 brand-new fast Hydro-bikes ($5,000 worth) 2 Paddleboards, 2 Kayaks & 1 Canoe! Two log swings & a super-comfy fabric swing overlooking the Lake are amazing!

We have room for up to 10 guests in beds, in five beautiful bedrooms! Past Guests have told us we have the most comfortable beds they've ever slept in! You'll have 3,000+ square feet in the lower level, facing Circle Lake, to spread out in!

You will enter your own separate entrance on the lake-side of the house. (We live quietly upstairs, but are gone a lot travelling ourselves. Our kids are gone, and we do not have a dog.)

You'll have a Theater Room for watching TV & Movies! You'll have a full kitchen, with a square high-top table that seats 8, which is great for games! A Pool Table awaits to entertain you.

The sleeping rooms are separated with a walk thru a short hallway (only one step down) to the Kitchen/Dining Room/Game Room. That keeps the Sleeping rooms completely quiet, even when some are still playing games or watching TV.

Pontoon Rental Available on the Lake: Sunset Pontoon Rentals (Ask for contact number after booking).
2024 Rates - $450 a day plus gas

SUPER CLEAN! We have an amazing Cleaner who dis-infect all hard surfaces. They wipe down switch plates, stair railings, and other surfaces others might miss.

They use Melaleuca Cleaning Products, that are green & Eco-friendly cleaning products that contain NO harmful chemicals! Sol-U-Guard, Melaleuca's powerful disinfectant, has been proven to kill the Corona Virus, and thousand of other viruses & bacteria upon contact!

Great location on the lake with an incredible amount of activities to do on site. Lots of room and everything you could need is provided! Greats spots to also sit and relax and take in the scenery. We enjoyed the location very much for our family vacation.

And we're thrilled to announce that we juat purchased a brand new golf cart! We've been wanting one for a few years. It will be so helpful for guests to be able to hop in the golf cart, and bring themselves and their luggage right up to the door! If it's raining or the grass is wet, no problem! We told your family we were going to do it, and we did it! One of the favorite pastimes of so many guests is just sitting on one of the swings and watching the lake. We've had several hundred Pelicans entertain us all summer long. And enjoying the amazing sunsets is absolutely incredible. So thanks again for staying with us, and please come again very soon!

Thanks for your review! And yes, we do have lots of water toys. So many, that kids are confused which one they want to play with first. Haha! This year we will be adding a fire pit table that you can sit around on stools. I saw it at Costco, and couldn't pass it up! People will hang out there for hours. We try to add one or two really cool amenities every year. And since this is our seventh year, we've added lots of cool amenities through the years including the Pickleball Court, Sport Court, Basketball Court. It cost us a ton, but families absolutely love it. They even invent all kinds of games, and Olympics, for the whole family, to play on the court. Please come back and visit us very soon!

What an awesome place

We had an amazing 4 days! The house is beautiful with a great kitchen that allowed us to cook for our large group with no problem. The yard is fantastic - we had squirt gun battles with the kids and loved watching the birds in the morning. The beach was perfect for the toddler - and we all enjoyed getting out into the water on the kayaks, hydro cycles and lily pad where we saw bald eagles and countless water birds. We'll be back for sure!

I want the grass to look like carpet, and so we spend a lot of time and money hiring the right people to make that happen. And we've also hired a company to control the bugs and mosquitoes. Amazing property

Beautiful lakefront home

My family of 8 loved our stay here! It is such a beautiful property and has more amenities than any other VRBO we’ve stayed in. So convenient - from the fully stocked kitchen, to the BBQ grill, to the cozy blankets, to the life vests and boats for the lake. The owners are incredibly kind and very attentive.

Jessica, you noticed! You mentioned that we have more amenities than any other VRBO you've ever stayed at. Thank you for noticing! We just went down to Kentucky and stayed at a VRBO with friends, and could not believe how few things were stocked in that home. It made it difficult to stay there. We never want one of our guests to experience anything like that whatsoever. And the beds there were absolutely horrible. Our friends hardly slept. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars to make sure we have the best beds possible, and many of our guests have noticed. As far as water toys, we now offer two water bikes, (which have been an amazing hit with our guests), two kayaks, a canoe, and two paddle boards, along with a huge lily pad. Some families take them all out at once, and it looks like a huge armada invading the lake! Lol. It's so fun. We are so glad you loved our log home on Circle Lake! Lakeside Home Retreat

This was a great property for bringing family together of many ages. A great getaway

Wonderful place for a family of 5 to get away. The kids could spend time fishing and playing pool, and the internet was fast enough for all 5 of us to be working, doing school work, or playing games all at the same time.

Family reunion

We had a large group and had lots of space to be together. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Loved that this property had so many amenities. The pool table provided just about as much entertainment as the view of the lake.

Beautiful accommodations!

The level we stayed in was huge!! 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large tv viewing area, another cozier area for chatting over morning coffee. The view of the trees and lake was beautiful especially at sunset. Plenty of amenities including keurig coffee maker. Steve was a great host and very helpful. Our plan is to go again and seriously thinking we've found our forever fall getaway.

Patricia, you must have loved it, because you're bringing all the girls back again this year! We too, would love to make this a yearly fall getaway for you guys. You are welcome anytime! It's true, we basically have a quiet living room for those that want to stay out of the noise, and a family room complete with games, pool table, 70 in TV for viewing! The bedrooms are a long way from this amenity, and so if someone wants to hit the rack early, they will not be disturbed by any noise! Plus we have sound machines in every room, so you can listen to the sound of lapping water, or a constant fan noise, and blow yourself to sleep. And my wife is so glad that you love her Coffee Corner. We've even upgraded it several weeks ago to contain more flavors of coffee, and several different creamers. Phenomenal place! Sits atop a bluff overlooking a lake with a western view. Large yard where we used the bbq and large kitchen/family/activity room for eating and socializin. Perfect graduation place - SSM, Carleton or St. Olaf all within 15 minute drive.

Sean, Yes, the log home sits on top of a 30 ft bluff, so you can see two miles to the other side of the lake, including the entire 100 Acre island in the middle. (But don't worry, we have a nice asphalt path to walk down to the beach area, making it easy access.) We also have three amazing double seat swings, and lots of guests spend much of their vacation just overlooking beautiful Circle Lake, swinging gently to their hearts content! It's one of my favorite pastimes. Since we faced west, the sun sets can be spectacular! And you're right, we host many families visiting their students at St Olaf and Carlton, just a few miles away. We so often have wedding parties, which this home accommodates perfectly. There are many great wedding venues within a few miles. Thanks again for staying with us, and come back and see us real soon. Great Get-Away

Hosted a bachelor party with 8 of my friends. It was the perfect place for us to relax yet still have things to do. The basketball court is tons of fun and it was awesome to jump in the lake right after. There is some sand and it’s up kept very well. There’s a nice doc and some water toys to use. Inside we took full advantage of the pool table and great TV room. There’s plenty of places to sleep for everyone. The hosts were awesome - communicated very quickly and made everything effortless. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you to our awesome hosts!

Perfect Getaway For Families Of All Ages

The property is clean and well maintained. The kitchen and living area is spacious and well appointed, complete with a great coffee bar. The layout is perfect because the bedrooms are separate from main living area, so early risers or night owls don’t disturb anyone’s rest. The pickle ball court is amazing! We enjoyed family pickle ball tournaments, lake activities, toasting marshmallows by the fire while watching the sun set on the lake. This private and serene property is a gem!

Our stay

The owners were very happy to make sure we had what we needed. A few requests were addressed immediately. All in all it was good. The only problem was that you had to park about 100 feet away from entrance and walk over a grassy hill. Most times wet.

Pamela, thank you so much for staying with us. Glad everything worked out okay. I will use this opportunity to announce for the first time that we just purchased a brand new golf cart. Now, guests will be able to jump in the golf cart, put their luggage aboard, and bring it up to the house. And if ever it's raining very hard, they can pull right into our garage, and load/unload right there, out of the rain! Circle Lake house

Great place to stay. Well laid out with quality and thought of use taken into account. Owners were in contact daily and responsive to any needs. Good place to relax and just enjoy the view. Lake was a bit green but were still able to canoe and use water bikes. Nice beach layout and again quality items - canoe, kayaks and water bikes to use as well as life jackets, etc. Nice place for small children to play in the sand. Overall one of the best places we have stayed at.

We are very fussy, and would be terribly disappointed if people did not find it exactly as you described it! Thanks so much for that great review! So many guests tell us that The View is nothing short of spectacular. To sit in our comfy swings, and just watch nature at its finest, is so relaxing! The trees, the waterfowl, the huge white pelicans, the Canadian Geese the lake, the waves, the boats, everything about it just takes you a million miles from your daily responsibilities! Sibling getaway

Great vacation with family. Appreciate everything there is to do here...kayaks, hydro bikes, paddleboards, fire ring, pickleball, pool, games, etc. Water was a bit scummy but maybe that was due to timing? The space is beautifully decorated, spacious, & everyone loved it here. Would highly recommend.

Penny, thank you for the awesome review! Especially mentioning so many of our amenities. Guests have mentioned how many different things there are to do at this property! We try to add several amenities every year. In fact, we ask guests the morning of their departure, what we can do to improve, what additional amenities would they like to see, what needs to be fixed or maintained? We have received 75 suggestions over the last few years, and we've been able to Institute a ton of them! And we are thrilled to announce that the Lake Association is working tirelessly to improve the quality of the lake water. And every year it's improving. They are now adding aerators to the lake to improve it even faster. Please come back and visit us real soon!

Unbelievable lake home for a family getaway!

We had THE BEST time at this lovely home! What an unforgettable experience! The hosts, Steve and Julie, were one of a kind and so accommodating. If there was something we needed they were quick to provide us with it. We came to this property with 5 children (ages 7-14) and there was so much fun to be had. Not only did the kids enjoy spending time on the lake-with the paddle boards and water bikes (that the property provided)-they also thoroughly enjoyed their time on the basketball court shooting hoops. The beds were extremely comfortable. We all enjoyed a great night of sleep. I feel like you cannot rate this property on a 5 star because it gets a 10 from us! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Steve & his Daughter Jessica and Family were amazing! They were so kind & gracious, and left the place spotless. Some guests want to be left alone, which we always honor, but this family became great friends. Steve is an Amazing VRBO Host himself, and was kind enough to sit down with us for almost & hour to help us know what to expect, and what to add or change from our Listing & guest experience. We would LOVE to have them back! Don't hesitate for a minute confirming them at your home!

My Dream since I was 5 years old ... was to LIVE ON A LAKE!

In 2000, we purchased this Dream Lake Home, added Log siding, and doubled the size of the Chalet. You will Vacation in over 3,000 sq of pure Fun & Relaxation!

We LOVE people, and are excited to hosts new guests!

Why they chose this property

We LOVE the up-north feeling in Southern MN. Julie was raised on a pork farm in Western MN, and I was raised in Maplewood, MN, when it was rural. (It's city now.) My Dad was a WWII Vet, and loved taking his 4 boys camping to a Lake somewhere, or to a State Park on the North Shore of Lake Superior! So we both have desired to get away from the hustle & bustle of the Twin Cities ever since we got married in 1982.

We bought this in 2000, and have never regretted living on the Lake for one minute!

What makes this property unique

We are only 10 minutes from Faribault & Northfield, where we do much of our shopping.

But you can get to the Mall of America in 30 minutes, Valley Fair Amusement Park in 35 minutes, downtown Mpls or St Paul in 45 minutes, and to the Twin Cities International Airport in 35 minutes. (A number of pilots & flight attendants live here on Circle Lake!)

People enjoy visiting Historic Northfield, (10 min away) where in 1878 the Town's People defeated the Jesse James Gang. You can still visit the original Bank, and Museum next door, where his raiders met their demise. (In fact: the Northfield High School Mascot Name ... The Raiders!) The "Defeat of Jesse James Celebration" takes place the 2nd weekend in September every year, with over 100,000 visitors!

Minnesota is fairly flat, but not around here. The Cannon River & Wolf Creek have carved out rolling hills, streams, ponds, with tons of wildlife. Dairy & Sheep Farms still line the country roads nearby.

Past Guests have told us coming to our Chalet on Circle Lake was, "The Best Vacation they ever had!" It's so remote & quiet here, you can totally focus on fun & fellowship with your family & friends!
