Idyllic retreat

While relatively spartan, Castello di Morcicchia is a superb place to spend time in a serene, peaceful setting in the Umbrian countryside, far from the maddening tourist hordes. The Castle is within easy driving distance of Umbria's most renowned hilltop towns and many smaller ones. There are some very pretty walks into the surrounding forests. And a fantastic terrace at the top of the castle on which to sit in the sun and gaze at the sublime vistas.

Una settimana fantastica! - A perfect week!

We had a magnificent stay in this beautiful historic building! The view from the roof terrace and from the terrace on the first floor is fantastic, the interior is beautifully restored and well-equipped, the surrounding is amazing - hiking paths start right behind the village. Most of the time we just liked to stay in the castle and to sit in the garden. Everything was just perfect: communication was easy, we had a warm, friendly welcome and received useful information. We definitely recommend it and will come back as soon as possible!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Château de Morcicchia ! La tour est très bien rénovée et dispose du nécessaire pour passer un séjour agréable. L'environnement est fantastique, préservé et calme au milieu de la nature, tout en restant accessible. Différentes terrasses permettent de contempler toute la région et de profiter de l'extérieur à tout moment, hors du temps. Les quelques habitants du village sont très chaleureux. Il était vraiment incroyable de pouvoir profiter de cette manière là d'une part d'Histoire et du patrimoine d'Ombrie. Massimo nous a accueilli de manière très sympathique et a été disponible tout au long de notre séjour si besoin. Le château est également très bien situé pour découvrir la région et son riche patrimoine culturel, gastronomique et viticole. Les 700 derniers mètres avant d'arriver au château ne sont plus goudronnés, mais rien d'insurmontable. Petit conseil, le GPS a tendance à vous proposer des chemins plus courts mais trop escarpés, choisissez toujours le plus long, c'est le plus praticable ! Nous espérons pouvoir revenir lors d'un prochain séjour !

Dit is echt een uniek object: een eigen burchtappartement in de middle of nowhere; d.w.z. in een minuscuul bergdorpje dat nauwelijks bewoond wordt. Alles heel middeleeuws. Minder prettig is de steile onverharde weg naar het object. Zelfs na 5 keer went het niet. Het is een groot en mooi strak appartement. De voorzieningen zijn matig; er is bijv. geen afwasmachine.

Authentique et médiéval !

Un grand logement, spacieux, avec des terrasses, dans la tour d'un château du Xem siecle. Parfaitement équipé, literie très confortable, décoré avec goût et justesse, une vue imprenable sur les collines et les vallées de l'Ombrie. Parfait pour une retraite au calme et en pleine nature, au milieu des oliviers, des figuiers, des noyers, des amandiers, pour retrouver de la sérénité. C'est apaisant, magnifique. UN LIEU UNIQUE, que nous recommandons vivement.

Droomplekje

Voor wie zonder televisie en WiFi kan en een vrij slechte overharde weg naar het kasteel op de koop toe neemt, krijgt hier een sprookje als beloning. Wat een adembenemend uitzicht: een prachtig dal, bossen, heuvels, Umbrische dorpjes. Een rustige omgeving. Prettig contact met de eigenaar. Veel ruimte. Wat een ervaring!

Una preziosa scoperta

Il luogo è assolutamente incantevole e inusuale. Anche se non facilissimo da raggiungere, e dotato dei servizi di base necessari; la disponibilità dell'host è stata ottima. A Ferragosto, nonostante la località isolata, non aspettatevi quiete assoluta. Ma soggiornare nella torre di un piccolo, antico castello e godere di un panorama così è un'esperienza talmente rara e affascinante che sarà impossibile dimenticarla.

Eine traumhafte Woche auf der Burg

Begeistert nahmen wir die Ferienwohnung in Augenschein. Alles da, was man braucht und viel Platz. Drei Terrassen zum draußen sitzen! Je nach Tageszeit hatte man verschiedene Schattenplätze. Das Schlafzimmer war mit einer Klimaanlage ausgerüstet. Bei den Temperaturen im August einfach wunderbar. Die Aussicht sucht ihresgleichen. Wir konnten uns nicht satt sehen. Die Zufahrtsstraße war etwas abenteuerlich, aber uns hat sie nicht abgeschreckt. Schöner Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung der alten, umbrischen Städte.
