Family vacation

Wonderful Rental!

My family and I just finished our stay at the Legacy and it was absolutely wonderful! Not only is it a beautiful home but it was appointed with just about everything you would need! The owners, Terri and Todd were fantastic! Short walk to the beach, awesome pool, game room, deck, screened in porches, ocean views... just wonderful! I miss it already!

House was great! Easy walk to the beach and a wonderful pool. House was very clean and had lots of kitchen appliances, plates, pots. Furnishings were great and everything was comfortable. OBX family style

Our family had 6 adults and 5 children ( 9-13 ). We all loved the property. The proximity to the Beach and the great pool with movable basketball hoops and water volleyball were very much enjoyed. The Kitchen was equipped to the max. The bikes were used daily for rides to the Lighthouse area. Loved the house with multiple decks and gathering areas. Great place for family fun.

Amazing family space

This is a beautiful house with so many great spaces. The covered porches were my favorite to sit on and hear the ocean. We had 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 14-4) and there were plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to spread out. Walk to the beach is 3 houses to the access and lifeguard is right there. My father who is 75 was easily able to walk it. House comes with beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, bikes, etc and that was great to not have to bring them. Owner was very responsive and answered questions and gave great suggestions for food/activities. Will definitely stay here again!

Phenomenal house and fabulous location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Legacy! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and appointed with every amenity you'd ever need. The screened-in porch and hammock quickly became favorite spots to start and end the day. Terri provided terrific suggestions on things to do and places to eat - many within walking distance of the house (the lighthouse climb is well worth the effort!). And beach access was merely steps away! Terri could write the "best practice guide" to ensuring guests are prepared for their trip and feel welcomed and well cared for while there. I would whole heartily recommend this host & house - we are already working on plans to return! Thank you for a great week!

Awesome experience and stay

This property is PACKED with extras (beach umbrella, several beach chairs, games, pool toys, kid toys, high chair and all). We had 6 kids ranging from 1 to 9 yo and we didn’t bring much of our own things and there was plenty for them to do. The bunk beds were a huge hit with the kids each with curtains and lights. Plenty of appliances, cook space, and prepping tools. The permanent hookup for the outside grill put us at ease as we didn’t need to worry about propane tanks. We had the heated pool and it was ready to rock the moment we showed up. Other key things to note is that the beach access is very close to the house and it is a RAMP, not stairs, so getting beach gear down to our setup spot was easy (property had a beach cart that made it easy to load up, go and setup right where we wanted, rolling right up to our location). I can’t say enough about this property; it was truly a great experience. Communication was quick and easy; we did have a small issue but it was quickly resolved by the property owner the same day and they checked in with us to make sure we were satisfied. Very happy with this experience and the property owners.

Corolla’s Legacy

The Legacy never felt like a beach rental. Instead, it felt like returning to a beloved family home. Everything was immaculate and very well maintained. It's nautical decor was lovely. A roomy floor plan with multiple decks and screened-in porch combined for a very spacious house. Bedrooms were large, beds comfy, and modern baths. Lots of seating in the main rooms. And the kitchen! Every type of pot, pan, utensil, and appliance. We enjoyed grilling and eating poolside, and we also had fun trying many restaurants in town. The gorgeous beach is just two houses away. There is a wagon to pull all the provided beach chairs, boogie boards, skim boards, fishing poles, spike ball set, etc. Keep on walking down the beach, you may see a couple wild mustangs! Terri was a pleasure to work with. She promptly returned. calls/emails and answered all questions. It's evident she loves her home! We look forward to returning to The Legacy and more family reunions in the future!

Great Memories made at The Legacy

Our extended family of ten had a fabulous stay at The Legacy! From the moment we walked through the door, we felt comfortable and at home. The property is well maintained and well-appointed with comfortable seating, beds and bedding. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and it was so nice to have paper towels, TP, bags, soaps, spices etc to use if wanted. The adage use a little, leave a little was so refreshing. We have stayed at many properties over the years and none have been as well equipped. The owners have thought of everything and strived to make our stay carefree. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, bikes, beach and pool toys, equipment, chairs and everything needed for outdoor fun. We cooked multiple meals in the kitchen with ease, used the grill, wonderful decks, chairs and conversation areas. There was plenty of room to gather as a family and space to also enjoy a bit of time alone if that is what you wanted. The neighborhood is quiet and the house is wonderfully convenient to the beach access. Literally three houses away! The owners were extremely responsive throughout the booking stage and during our stay including helpful tips for activities, shopping and dining. We had an absolutely wonderful week and our entire family said they would definitely stay at The Legacy again!! This house was amazing! There are always extras that we needed to bring and it was covered here. There were laundry baskets as well as a clothes line to hang towels and suits on. Plenty of utensils, dinnerware, baking pans, pots and skillets, etc. Having 2 refrigerators was an added plus. Outdoor seating was great. We ate almost every meal in the screened in porch. Terri was very helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns right away. I didn't hesitate to contact her. This was the first house that we have rented that required ID's of all adults and all adults to sign the contract. After arriving at the house and seeing how well it is taken care of it is understandable that they want to make sure that those renting are serious and will take care of the place as well. Our 5 granddaughters were between the ages of 4-8 and were able to find many toys to play with in-between beach and swimming. The walk to the beach was quick and safe. We didn't worry about high traffic areas. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept. Everything had labels and/or directions so there was no confusion about where something went or how to use it. This is by far the best house we have stayed at in our 10 years of renting. Between the space within the home, decks outside, ease of going to and from the beach plus all the extras that we didn't need to pack made this even nicer. Terri was so easy to communicate with and went to great lengths to ease my concerns & answer all my questions.

Incredible home made for a wonderful week!

Everything about this rental was wonderful. From initial contact with the owners until check out, communication was prompt and positive. The home itself... I can’t even begin to describe how incredible it is. The description is accurate. There are seriously no amenities these owners have not thought of. The kitchen was the most well appointed kitchen we have ever had with a vacation rental. I prefer to cook when on beach vacations rather than eat out and I did not find myself wishing for a single item that was not found in this kitchen! The pool area is amazing with lots of seating, lounge chairs and tables for food and drinks. So many pool toys! We all loved how many umbrellas this home had for shade! It seemed like many properties around us were really lacking shady areas near their pools. The hot tub is very large and maintained a great temperature! There is a bathroom and fridge on the ground level right off the pool area which was so nice and convenient. Also, many under deck shaded sitting areas to read and visit! The outdoor showers were wonderful with hot water! Our kids preferred showering out there at the end of everyday rather than using the inside showers so they could come in clean at the end of a long day at the beach and pool. The screened in porches were so nice. We enjoyed eating dinners out there without bugs swarming. There are SO MANY outdoor places to visit. This is a great home for a large gathering. There were only 6 of us, and so many beds went unused and we kept finding ourselves wishing we had brought family and friends with us to the beach just to share the amazing space. The location is fabulous! It is so much quieter up in Corolla than where we typically stay down in KDH and Nagshead. You can sit on the porch and see the ocean and it was a quick 1 minute walk to the beach. Zero entry to the sand with no stairs or gates to have to navigate. The beach bucket, beach umbrellas, chairs and toys provided meant we did not have to pack and bring ANYTHING with us besides our clothing. The game room was so much fun for evenings! The foosball and arcade were a big hit with my husband and kids. This home is so clean and so beautiful. I really feel like the photos do not do it justice! We had such an amazing week at a rental house that really felt like home! We are already talking about when we can come back!

Multigenerational Family Beach Getaway

Beautiful and well-appointed home, just steps to a gorgeous beach. 60th anniversary

This was a family gathering celebrating our parents 60th anniversary. The cottage was fantastic with many different, comfortable seating areas. The game room, pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all. It was a quick, safe walk to the beach which we could see from the decks. The house was clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. We felt at home immediately. What' an amazing place to to gather with family and friends. The cottage was beautiful and spacious, tastefully appointed, with comfortable conversation areas for catching up around every corner. The generously stocked professional kitchen was a hit with all the cooks in the family and large enough for multiple people to enjoy preparing memorable meals together. We were celebrating our parents 60th anniversary and the hosts left a thoughtful and delicious gift in honor of them. We enjoyed the bikes and beach accessories provided as well as the games, puzzles, and books available to us. The house was located close to the uncrowded beach, yet not far from grocery stores, markets, and shops. The cottage allowed everyone to return home with many great memories of our moments together.
