About this property

A Historic Cigar-Makers Conch Home, privately owned by a native hospitable family in the heart of Downtown, a few minutes walk from Duval St. Accommodates 1-2 couples. Your car will be safe in this parking spot, nowhere near the street. The Cottage is set back from the sidewalk so you are not subjected to traffic noises.
Drink your morning coffee outside on the back deck or on the front porch.

Note two things:
1. The price listed is for 2 guests only. There is an additional charge of $75/night for an additional guest.

2. The cottage is set back from the street but nearby at Hank's there is live music...LUCKILY
as of around 10.18.23 - their music is now set further back from us! The music ends at midnight.

Perfect spot right in the middle of everything

This cottage is great. Its an old school cottage, so dont expect a new hotel room. The wood walls have miles on them, but everything its freshly painted and very clean. The furniture is comfortable, the bedrooms are good size and also perfect after a long day and night out. You can go across the street to Truman for a nice peaceful walk or go one block over for the music and fun. If you love Hanks and the Caroline area, you will not find a better location. We will definitely stay here when we come back.

Cute property with great location

Cute little cottage perfect for my wife and I. Location is ideal for those who want to be in the heart of old town , only a block from Duval and within a stone’s throw of several great places to get drinks or food. The home is older , but was clean and comfortable. We had to reach out to the owners for two small issues which were addressed very quickly.

Cute and Clean Home Right in Downtown KW

Nice and clean with cable TV. Nice patio/ deck with beautiful greenery! Updated inside! Host was easy to get ahold of when needed! Coffee was delicious!!

Simply the Best!

We have stayed in this perfect little home for 3 years now. We absolutely love the comfort and cleanliness our hosts provide to make our stay in Key West most enjoyable. We love the location. We can easily walk to downtown and to the Pier as well as to many restaurants. Definitely the best of the best in every way!

This property is located right in the heart of Old Town and yet it is set back off the street and is very quiet at night! The fact that it has parking is a bonus! Our host and her mother were terrific and we had a great stay!

Wonderful Cottage

This cottage was clean and very comfortable. Seemed to be newly renovated throughout. The kitchen has all new appliances. The hosts provided full Xfinity cable to a very large and new Samsung TV as well as very fast X1 wifi. As other reviewers have noted, the cottage is convenient to everything you'll need including Fausto's Food Palace, a very well stocked grocery store, just 4 blocks away. Highly recommended.

Great location

You can walk all over Old Town from this location. Also the off street parking is great if you have a car…parking is difficult and costly. No need for a car. Host was available at all times.

Fantasy fest

The location was fantastic, but there was construction next-door and they broke the water supply line. Fiona had a plumber there within an hour and it was fixed within three they even gave me back $200 off my stay

A lovely bungalow

Everything was as described. The home was clean and very comfortable. It was minimal in decoration, but again, very comfortable. The AC worked extremely well, which was most important for our mid-July trip. I could hear some music in the kitchen from the business behind the house, but it was never an issue in the morning or late evening. The beds were quite comfortable. I agree with other reviewers that the coffee provided was excellent. Location, Location, Location! It was very convenient for all we wanted to do in Old Town. It was 5-8 minute walk to Duvall Street, Mallory Square, and the Sailboat docks (Danger Co. Sunset Sail or Day Sail out to the mangrove keys!) and 10 10-minute walk to Hemingway House. The large parking area at the property was set back from the street and was a lifesaver. Finding an open Old Town parking space on the street would have been a hassle and expensive. Most Old Town-area VRBOs ask you to park on the street- major hassle! The property is set back from the road so it was quiet and you could fit two cars at the property if you needed. You do have to go outside to access the washer and dryer room, but it wasn't a problem. Furthermore, the hosts stocked detergent and dryer sheets and had 4 beach towels and some beach chairs for guest use stored in the laundry room as well. We did have one small plumbing issue with a leaky toilet valve, however one call to the host and it was fixed promptly and very politely. I would definitely stay again!

Convenient Cottage

Loved the little cottage and esp the private parking spot. The cottage had everything we needed and especially the regular sized coffee maker along with a bag of delucious coffee given to us. We wre close to everything, it was quiet at night...it was perfect and we'll definitely be back. We loved being back in Key West and especially so close to everything we missed. Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Old Town

This cottage is literally a few dozen steps away from the Truman Summer Whitehouse and one block west of Duval street. You can easily walk to all the bars and restaurants along Duval street. We rented a gold cart for the week at the ferry terminal on arrival, but really didn't need it. There is construction on a new dwelling at the front of the property but it really did not affect our going and coming from this property, which is located behind the new construction. Marcela and Hugh were excellent hosts! I am an amateur radio "ham" operator and they allowed me to put up an end fed wire antenna between the front porch of the rental unit and a tree in front of their "office." This was very much appreciated!!! Also, they allowed us to leave our luggage with them when we checked out since our ferry did not leave until 5 pm. We needed a place to store them from 10 am at checkout while we continued to explore Key West before getting on the ferry. Other services for luggage storage range from $6 to $12 per bag, so this was an added bonus! Thank you, Marcela! We can't wait to come back again!

We love this little cottage. The location is PERFECT! We try to stay here every time we come to Key West (if it isn't already booked). The owner is so nice and checks in with us to make sure every thing is good and if were enjoying our stay.

Hi I'm Marcela. I help my parents with the admin work of running their vacation rental. My father is a former Magistrate of the Florida Keys (1980-2006). He is a well-known attorney and 3rd Generation Key West Conch. He raised his family in his hometown of Key West and the family still remains in Key West. My mom manages the property with me and is from Nicaragua. They both speak Spanish fluently. The law office is adjacent to this property and he works there every day. My parents live down the road from this property near the Southernmost Point. So they are very close by if you need anything.

Why they chose this property

You can't beat the location. A private safe parking spot, away from the street. This is more private than the Shipyard condos, in which you are close to your neighbor and the parking spaces are smaller.

What makes this property unique

Being able to walk to almost any restaurant in the downtown area. You don't need to Uber or call a taxi. You get to walk home under the moon and stars in perfect-year-around weather, and enjoy every moment of staying downtown.
