About this property

Quiet Guest Suite

Beautiful country setting 2 miles from scenic Highway 61, less than 30 min to Mpls/St. Paul, Mall of America, Treasure Island Casino, Canterbury Downs, Minnesota Zoo, and many other attractions. We are located just minutes from the St. Croix River, Mississippi River, and Afton Alps Ski Resort. This is a newly built private guest suite with a private entrance. It includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, laundry, a queen bed, and two twin beds. Plenty of parking.

Full kitchen with full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots/pans, cooking utensils, washer, and dryer. Full bathroom with towels supplied. Sheets, pillows, and blankets supplied. Guests are welcome to use the playground and park-like yard with trampoline, as well as enjoy fresh produce from our garden during the summer. WiFi, TV, Netflix, and PS3 are available for use. Only those listed on the reservation are allowed on the premises unless approved by the host.

Our home is allergen free - no pets (but you can enjoy our hobby farm animals), no smoking on the premises; no chemicals or toxic cleaning supplies used. Fair-trade coffee provided at no cost.

perfect retreat after a busy day out seeing the Cottage Grove-Hastings area.

This is my second stay at this property. I love the layout of the apartment, ample room to use the kitchen area and still cozy but not crowded. There are windows on three sides and the view of the surrounding woods and farm yard is restful to me. Gravel road and longish driveway gives one the feeling of seclusion, but it isn't really isolated. I hope to go there again.

Tranquility & convenience in the countryside!

My friend & I spent a wonderful long weekend in this tranquil escape from everyday life! It was so quiet & included all of the pleasantness of being in the countryside. At the same time we were a short drive from all of the modern conveniences. Truly, it was the best of both! Betty is a delightful host, the accommodations were very clean & comfortable & met all of our needs. We are so grateful this VRBO exceeded our expectations! Thanks Betty!

Well kept beautiful country setting

Betty and Ed were wonderful hosts. The suite was Accessible, very clean with non chemical cleaners which was truly appreciated by me ❤️. Many thoughtful touches Like coffee and soap and shampoo provided. I’m a bath person and loved that there was a bath shower combo. It was comfortable and had everything a person could need. My daughter and I attended a family reunion in nearby Hastings over the August 3-4 weekend. Ms Betty met us as we arrived. She was awesome. Very welcoming and a reminder of why I am a fan of rural Minnesota. The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. The location (rolling hills, woods and farmland) was a nice getaway from the craziness of the big cities. We traveled to Hastings (5 miles) and Prescott WI (3 miles). The Twin Cities are within 25 miles. To sum it up it was a great stay and we'll definitely do it again.

Country paradise

My sister and I traveled to Hastings for our sister's memorial service. Our host Betty was incredibly kind, the cozy space was immaculate, it was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. Wonderful host and space! Even a washer and dryer so we could do a little laundry before we headed back from an emotionally draining trip. Each night my sister and I told each other how glad I chose this place. Easy access, it's all good at Betty's. Thank you for everything Betty, your kindness and hospitality will not be forgotten anytime soon. ♡

Peaceful and very clean

We stayed for 3 days. The property is in a quiet rural area and very clean. The spacious room is attached to the owner's house but is still private and quiet. The double bed is very comfortable. The only issue someone might have is that I have ATT and I couldn't make or receive calls in that area. Texting and internet seemed to work ok on the wireless network. There is Netflix on the TV which worked great. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Very Nice

We enjoyed our stay! Loved being in the country setting! Enjoyed visiting the chickens and sheep several times during our stay. Betty was very accommodating during our stay. I would suggest changing out the loveseat for a couple of comfortable chairs. But otherwise we really loved it!

Rural, restful, and natural beauty all around.

My sister and I stayed there three nights. There was a lovely scenic drive every time we came and went. It was quiet at night to sleep. Great Ski Location

This property was perfect for a quick trip to ski with my teens. We adjusted our arrival time and the host was great about understanding and accommodating our travel plan changes. The space was welcoming and quiet. Location to both restaurants and Afton Alps slopes was quick.

Simply Awesome!

Excellent accommodations with plenty of room for three adults. Super easy parking for my 20' fishing boat. Close access to both the St.Croix and Mississippi Rivers. Neat, clean and very functional rental. Will definitely be back!

Serene Wooded Setting

Beautiful Setting

Large, one room that contained a great kitchen/dining table and three beds. It’s in a rural setting with relatively quiet, safe roads for running. The only issue we had was that the owner’s young grandchildren were visiting and using the bedrooms above us as well as driving small ATV-type vehicles all around our area. The running back and forth upstairs was disappointing as we are very light sleepers and specifically chose the property because of its rural setting and we figured it would be quiet. Other than that, the owner was wonderful and we’d definitely book another stay.

Just what the doctor ordered!

I could not rate Betty and Ed’s place any higher! From the spotless lodgings to the serene and idealic setting with organic gardens, chickens and sheep, to the incredibly welcoming and warm hosts...we were blessed to be there! It was perfect. 😊
