Designed 250 years ago by John Wood the Elder, The King's Circus (now known as The Circus) is an outstanding building. The interior of the apartment's spectacular main room was used to impress and entertain guests and has lost none of its impact. Lofty ceilings, ornate cornicing, grand marble fireplaces and huge shuttered windows overlooking The Circus would draw admiring glances. At the other end of the room, a beautiful glazed bay overlooked a rural idyll of walled gardens, mature trees and green hills surrounding the city. Grand folding wedding doors divided the room for more intimate gatherings.
Elegantly adapted as comfortable contemporary accommodation, the living area has two generous sofas either side of the handsome gas fireplace. There is a small TV with DVD, DAB radio with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi along with a small selection of books. An antique style dining table seats up to four. The bedroom area has a 6' sleigh bed, chest of drawers and large built-in wardrobe with additional shelving which is large enough for luggage along with utility items. There is an appealing chaise placed in the curved bay window with a reading lamp. The folding wedding doors can be closed to create a peaceful retreat.
A vast sash window lights up a compact period style fitted kitchen with polished granite worktops and stone flooring. With a cup in hand, you could linger by the windows for hours. The kitchen contains an induction hob, an electric oven and separate grill, a microwave, a small fridge with freezer compartment a small dishwasher, a washing machine combined with dryer, and plenty of kitchen equipment.
The glossy tiled cream and terracotta bathroom is smartly arranged with a bath (with hand-held shower attachment), a separate large corner shower, a hand-basin with shelf area and WC.sin with shelf area and WC.
