Had a wonderful family weekend! House was a perfect getaway. Our daughter (2 years old) loved waking up and watching the cows climb up and down the mountain!
We had a great time. Hunted the belts saw a lot of elk all still roaming free. There were a lot of dead flies in the loft and around the doors and windows. It didn’t bother us but other guests may feel differently. Thanks for letting us borrow your property.
A lovely remote property with gorgeous scenery! Plenty of room for everyone, pool table and games! We appreciated the well equiped kitchen, and the Traeger grill. When the first Traeger wasn't working well, it was replaced in a timely manner! The road is a bit of a challenge, took it slow
Great mountain getaway. Secluded, quiet and lots of outdoor activities available. Ample supplies available to not worry about running outof something. Host was available for any issues and willing to address any questions to accomofate
We enjoyed the peacefulness, being able to play pool, use the hot tub, and have a fire. There was plenty of space for us to spread out, but big enough areas for us to be all together playing games, eating, and having a relaxed and enjoyable time.
We were 3 families with children ages 9yrs to 3mo. It was well equipped with almost everything from toys to dishes to bath towels. It's a very beautiful and secluded spot and it fit our needs quite well. We had a wonderful time!
Really nice cabin. A little hard to get to, but that’s kind of what you want! Plan ahead for meals because it takes a while to get into town and there arent a whole lot of options. But the property is beautiful and the house itself is great.
The house is gorgeous, property spotless and our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Property manager and staff are on call almost 24/7 and very responsive to any questions we had. House fit all 12 of us comfortably; they even have sleep number beds! We enjoyed the firepit table and got good use out of their smoker! We had a blast...if you love nature, hiking, fishing, and zillions of stars at night, you'll love this place!

If you are looking for remote, this might be your spot! We stayed as a family of 13 for 4 days after Christmas 2025. The home is a beautiful custom log home. The best things were the beautiful wood burning fireplace, the big open living area, the outfitted kitchen, the hot tub, and pool table. We had a little snow, but if there had been more, you might need a four wheel drive to get up the mountain road which is 6 miles off a secondary highway. The setting once there is quiet and beautiful, just perfect for family photos. We were a little put off by the late check in time (5:00 pm in December is dark!) and we had some cleanliness issues. However, even though it was a holiday, the local host was responsive. For other recommendations, the outdoor fire table needs better ventilation, and some of the outdoor furniture was broken. The hosts should also consider having a high chair on site for littles. The garbage containers should be larger and possibly one for recycling might be a good idea. Additionally, we found lamps that needed new lightbulbs, and remotes that needed new batteries. Be aware that field mice in remote locations are always an issue, and this was evident. The host provided access to more traps, and there was plenty of sine-age telling guests to not leave doors open. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The house is warm and comfortable. We were disappointed that Christmas decorating was not a part of the stay.
This home is so beautiful that it’s hard to know where to start! The location in the forest feels very private with lovely views from the house. Down below, there is a small creek that burbles along. You can hear it from the yard. We enjoyed the firepit and there was lots of cut wood. The cabin itself is incredible. Many cozy places to relax, a pool table, a hot tub. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you might need and there were even some staples like coffee filters, sugar, cocoa and maple syrup already there. Our youngest child claimed the loft for himself and was delighted to have his own space. The rooms are set up so there is a lot of room to spread out, even if you had a larger group than we did. I loved all the extra trinkets and decorations around the place. If you love horses, you will love this place! We were able to snowshoe up an unplowed road right behind the property. It would be a great getaway anytime of the year, really. If the weather was bad, there are about a thousand DVDs and lots of games. I think 4WD would be helpful at times for the road up to the place. We came up during the spring melt so it was muddy and slick. Well worth the effort, though! Thank you for making this incredible home available!
8 adults and two small children gathered from Hawaii, Belrade, MT, NYC, San Diego, and Atlanta for a Family Christmas. First, the owner & landlord agreed to put up a Christmas tree since we were arriving on 12/24 and wouldn't be able to do so. Thank you so much for that! It set a great tone for our gathering...
As we arrived, the snow began to fall ... along with the temperatures (-4). We hiked on the beautiful and spacious property, crunching through 6" of fresh snow. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and little ones shared in the smells of Christmas cookies, coffee, and the roaring fireplace. While we dipped into the hot tub, the backs of our heads actually turned to icicles. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was amazingly stocked with every pan, pot, knife, coffee cup, and container that we needed. Christmas Day between the tree and the kitchen made for some terrific memories.
We used the Traeger grill - even in 4 degrees below zero - to grill elk burgers. We played Ticket to Ride at the very large dinner table. I hope to return. Our time was lovely and the home + property contributed a ton to our enjoyment.
Wonderful family size lodge -perfect for our reunion
This was a great lodge and made the perfect setting for our large family gathering. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and provisioned. The large bar and eating area were just right. We had perfect weather so the house temp was also just right. We used the hiking maps and found those difficult to follow but it didnt matter. All in all it was a great stay and we would come again!
The process was super easy!!! The cabin made for a great opportunity for our family to get together, enjoy the lake. It felt like home away from home!!!
Great Seclusion, Very interesting origination of the property,
Well stocked and maintained with normal household needs to function as a family for a week or more. We loved the massage chair, it got lots of use. We stayed during a time with the temperatures were hitting 90 plus, so not having air conditioning was a littl uncomfortable in the late hours of the afternoon. The movie theater / surround sound was great to watch with the family. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone that wanted that back in the woods "Walton's Mountain" feel.
