About Jez Barkley
We came to Fayence on holiday and left owning this very very special property, we think we are the luckiest people in the world and I think by the reviews our guest's have written they think the same.
Jez Barkley purchased this Villa in 2001
Why Jez Barkley chose Fayence
We saw Logis du Puy and it was instantly love at first site, luckily we were the 3rd people to view the property and within a week we had bought it, checkout the reviews for everyone else's thoughts. Old Stone Provence Character nestled in the hillside facing south with uninterrupted views across the valley to the Esterral Mountains, that and sitting by the pool watching the odd white cloud go by, what else could you want??? maybe that the property is very private but only a 3 minute walk to the Village via a private path, no need for a car although there is ample parking..
What makes this Villa unique
The property is very private not overlooked but only a 3 minute walk to the Village of Fayence and Tourrettes via a private path. The hilltop villages in this area are some of the most beautiful in Europe all with their own special character, Fayence dates back to the 12 century and is the king of them all.

Traditional property with stunning views
We have just returned from another visit to the Logis du Puy. I celebrated by 60th birthday here and it was lovely to return for my 65th. The villa is very well equipped especially in the kitchen and very comfortable throughout.
It’s a wonderful place to relax, sit by the pool watching the gliders take off and land below you, eat and bbq at the outdoor kitchen.
It was lovely to meet Jez and Pam and look forward to visiting again soon.
Fantastic rustic French house!
We loved Logis de Puy! Phenomenal views from the pool and the terrace and many different sitting areas, our favourite being the summer kitchen which was so so nice. It’s about a 5 minute walk to Fayence up a steep lane at the end of the garden and about 10 minutes walk along the drive and round to Tourettes. We didn’t really go much further than that. There are plenty eating and drinking options there and a very good wine shop too! The weather was great when we were there so we spent the whole time outside enjoying the views and the local rose wines. It was ideal for our family of 6 adults and 2 children.
Beautiful House and beautiful place
We have just returned from a 2 week break and would recommend to anyone taking a look to get it booked! The house is simply beautiful, equipped with everything you could ever need. The pool is amazing, and with those views we really found it hard to drag ourselves away. The cottage is also lovely and along with the house provided ample room for all 8 of us. We absolutely fell in love with Fayence, the people were so friendly, the place is beautiful and the views are stunning. My husband and I even found ourselves looking in the estate agents! If you are lucky enough to rent the house and you have children then I would recommend a visit to Lac De Saint-Cassein. It is a huge lake with paddle boarding and peddalos to rent, we spent a lovely morning there and also returned later in the holiday. Pam and Jez, thank you so much, we loved every minute and hope to be back sometime.

Lovely house for family holiday, French style
Main house as described in advert. Comfortable, clean, old french style, tasteful. Annexe building smaller, less chic but self contained and and in our case perfect for the youngsters. As two families, we separated adults in main house, youngsters in the annexe (ours are not young children) so they had their own showers, music etc ! Wonderful views from the pool and patio and excellent location in terms of feeling relaxed in the countryside but only a short rural walk to the village. (Would just say that the pool and steps are not ideal for toddlers, although could be managed). Traditional boulangerie just 10 mins on foot there and back for fresh croissants each morning, and a relaxed stroll in the evening to one of the several eateries in the village. Range of restaurants/price levels, and we had very good experiences at each one. Home made ice-cream in one of the little shops in the village made a nice afternoon walk too. Several big supermarkets a short drive away and smaller co-op type shop in village. Easy drive to the beautiful lakes with sailing/water activities. Drove to Cannes, Monaco and local water park as day-trips. Lovely holiday, hope to return.
Wonderful authentic house with a stunning view
We (2 families with 6 kids) had a wonderful stay at this authentic house with a stunning view over the Provence.
The house got everything you need with a well-equipped kitchen a lovely pool area etc.
There are various small spots on the property where you can get some alone time and if you travel 2 families one can stay in the main house and the other in the nice cottage - perfect :-)
The terraces have the most cosy lights in the evening.
The stroll to the city was easy and handy with small kids :-)
We had daily trips to Gorges Verdon, Frejus and Saint Cassin Lake, which we would highly recommend all others to do too...
Pam & Jez always accessible on phone/mail and very helpful.
Isabelle gave us a warm welcome and came checking all was good during the stay, which was highly appreciated.
Pam, Isabelle and Jez; your hospitality suits the beautiful house - and the other way around :-)
Thanks a lot for giving us the opportunity to experience your property:-)
Best regards 2 families from DK
Thank you for the lovely review it is so nice when somebody appreciate our hard work please come back soon
Best regards Jez and Pam
Fayence is well equipped for either an active break, or a more restful stay. For those simply wishing to get away from it all, the nearest beach is a approximately 30 minutes distant.
The nearby lake of Lac de St. Cassien is a short drive away, offering all water sports. Besides swimming, the lake offers boat, canoe and sailboard rental. For the keen fisherman, the lake is well known for containing huge carp, pike and other predatory fish.
There is regular market that is held every Tue Thu and Sat in the village square.
The surrounding area also boasts several golf courses, equestrian facilities and vineyard trail walks.
Just south of Fayence is a major gliding centre, which was founded in 1935. It is considered to be the best within Europe, and gliders of all kinds are a frequent sight in the area.
Other Activities: gliding
