Just got back from a weeklong vacation at this property. The unit was very clean and the owner was very quick to answer my questions and very accommodating. The unit came with everything that you would need for a beach vacation ie linens, towels (both bath and beach), cleaning supplies, etc. All you need are your clothes. The description was very accurate as the unit sits very close to Siesta beach and has a trolley stop right out front. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay overall. There was a lot of construction going on so it was not enjoyable to sit on the patio. We found a stain on one of the chairs that wasn’t cleaned and we killed a huge bug in the house. The pool area and bay were nice additions to our stay. We also used the free trolley every day and didn’t have to rent a car. I would stay here again.

It was a bit too small for 2 adults and 2 older children. It may be ok for 2 small children. It wasn’t very clean. The air freshener was overpowering when we arrived which felt like it was covering something up. The windows and vents were dirty. The outside screened in area was dirty and not inviting. Some of the beach equipment including the umbrella was broken.

We're sorry you were displeased with the condo size, air freshener scent, and cleanliness, three factors that have rarely been raised by our past renters. The dark tile grout makes some people perceive the floors as dirty but our cleaners always do a good job of floor cleaning, and our inspection prior to your stay did not identify any problems. We will do a deeper cleaning to address AC vent dust and windows. We also have now replaced the broken umbrella and one of the chairs in the beach closet; past renters also had not identified broken items but wear and tear happens and we address it promptly when advised. . . Two stars is a serious negative rating for these issues, but hopefully you enjoyed your stay overall. Respectfully, Brent

Host was easily reachable. For the money, in this area, condo was adequate. Clean except for floor. Fresh flowers were a welcoming touch. I recommend washcloths and dish cloths added to linens.

I did not receive any negative feedback during Kathy's stay and there are no negative comments so not clear why the stay was rated 3 stars.

About the host

Hosted by Brent Kerger

Host profile image
My wife and I have been in the vacation rental business since 2009 and in longer term rentals since 1997. We firmly believe in keeping our places well maintained and assuring that our guests have access to all the great amenities that this property and the surrounding area can provide. We have one other Siesta Key rental home and two other beach rental properties south of Tallahassee, so we strive to get the top ratings from our guests.

Why they chose this property

Siesta Key is the ultimate beach holiday spot because its sunny, tropical climate, sugar-white sand beaches, and mild, shallow, warm Gulf waters make it the perfect location for sunbathing, swimming, and beachfront activities. There is fishing available at the Bay Oaks pier, surf fishing from the beach, and available local off-shore charters. The village area is full of great restaurants, shops and bars that can keep you busy with a different place to sample for dinner or evening entertainment every night of the week! Golf and many other tourist attractions are within short driving distance depending on your preferences. All in all, this is one of the best beach vacation spots in the world.

What makes this property unique

The Bay Oaks facilities are good quality and well maintained. Siesta Key's free trolley makes it easy to access the beach and village facilities without worrying about driving or parking. Perfect home base for taking the kids or grandkids to theme parks or water parks.
