About this property

Quiet Getaway - 3 Bedroom Cottage in the Countryside ( sleeps 8)

Our house is a spacious cottage with open space in the living room and cozy settings in the
3 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom a twin bed, and the third bedroom has 2 twin beds. In the living room area is a hide a bed couch that sleeps two people as well ( an extra mattress is available.)The main bathroom has a washer and dryer. The kitchen has a stove and oven, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, fridge and freezer, sink, flatware and dinnerware, and basic kitchen utensils (pots and pans). The lake is perfect for fishing, we have beautiful garden walkways and sitting areas. There is a fireplace outside as well as an observation deck from which you can see the whole property. It’s the perfect spot for stargazing. We have a few goats and the neighbors have very friendly dogs.

The whole house is a duplex, there is no shared space.
It’s two houses under one roof.

Beautiful paradise. The cottage is cute and the grounds and landscaping are beyond description. Very welcoming to pets. Stayed 5 days and had fun driving the backroads. Suck a beautifully property. It was very quiet and peaceful. Those managing the property responded immediately to any requests. There was also a lot of the little things like dishes and linnens and k cup pods. There was clearly thought put into having the things you need readily available. Overall an excellent stay. I highly recommend it.

Offensive order immediately upon entering the property that didn’t go away during our stay. Several candles, room sprays and fragrant wax melts were in the home. Unfortunately none helped much. Because the temperatures were warm we were able to open 2 windows, no screens in other windows to open.

Thank you for your review, Lisa. We are taking those very serious. We had a check out not too long before you arrived, and we noticed there was some smell that we tried to figure out if it was from their cooking or the dog that they had. Therefore, we placed a few candles and fragrance, and I apologize for that. It usually does not have a smell. It’s spring time soon we are placing those screens in shortly. We are actually in preparation of the property cleaning out windows staining porches, etc. you probably saw that we were at work outside also with mulching so these are all spring activities for our gorgeous garden area and cleaning out the windows with the screens is part of it. We left all the beautiful gorgeous garden lights on for you hoping you would enjoy the outdoors. We hope you did. We arrived at dusk and the twinkling lights all over the garden and trees was magical! We will visit again in spring/summer to see the gardens and trees in bloom! The doves and animals were fun too!

The property was so peaceful and quiet. My oldest daughter, who is almost 22, loved the goat, sheep, and minature pony. The cottage was comfortable and clean. Great communication.

Awesome place to get-away for some peace and quiet

What a beautiful property to stay a few nights. There is a wonderful garden and as a bonus some farm animals to visit with. My wife and I loved our time a the cottage and will definitely be back. We have been recommending to our family and friends as well.

A special treasure in the Missouri countryside. Very cozy, quiet and wonderful gardens. Only stayed one night but can't wait to come back and stay for many more!

Off the Radar

If your looking for a relaxing atmosphere off the main road, this is your place. The gardens are beautiful. The stay was accommodating for our needs. I would definitely recommend for a nice get away for any events in neighboring towns. Owners are close and very friendly.

It was very cozy inside and beautiful outside even during the winter. The inside had the cutest decor a nice amount of space a place for everything and a place for everybody great for weddings and events or just a get away. I’ll be back soon I know it’ll be just as amazing next time.

Beautiful French Garden Cottage

Hosts were so nice and accommodating! Was about 10-15 minutes away from the interstate for us driving through. Cottage was very clean and bigger than expected. Grounds were beautiful and fun to walk around in the morning!

Charming, roomy cottage for our group of 6

Our book club of six stayed one night in the cottage. We had plenty of room and the cottage provided lots of space to be together and space for privacy. Also walked through the gardens and visited the animals around the property. Very unique place!

In route to our destination, this was a stay for rest. But wished we planned extra time here. Its a beautiful property. & being able to take our little fur babies meant so much, & they & my husband & I enjoyed walking the property. They left lights on for us, it was beautiful. Hidden away.

The house was fine, but there was a very musty smell in the restroom, and in the master bedroom. The wifi was really challenging. The house was roomy and let us have our own space.

Thank you for your review. We always take it very serious when our guest mention something that they were aware of. We live in the country and we have our own well water. during the different seasons during the year there is a smell sulfur in the water, that is probably what the smell was in the bathroom, most of our guest are not aware and they don’t mention anything. I’m very sorry that it was something that you disliked. My apologies. It truly changes during the year. I believe it’s because we have the shift from summer to fall that it might smell a little more like sulfur. Thank you again for your stay. You’re always welcome back.

Pro's:- most of the place seemed clean- Good instructions on how to find stay- quiet and peaceful- no light pollutionSuggestions for host:- fix doors (especially front) to be able to easily open and shut all the way- clean walls and under bed of master bedroom- Deodorize very strong fish smell - Have written instructions on how to work heating and A/C (especially for visitors coming late/leaving early)- Put working curtains in master bedroom- (host/other guests) keep dogs inside or on a leash/in a pen outside OR warn guests of unaccompanied dogs - Make sure all doors are locked before guests arrive- Get rid of 75% of decor/extra furniture (too much clutter makes guests wary of hidden cameras and could make it easier for guests to leave possessions)- Give written instructions on how to turn off lighting/make it easier for guests to know how to turn off lighting inside stay- Fix both twin bed frames so that the metal one doesn't creak so loudly and the wooden one doesn't sound like it's going to break when turning over in bed (or buy different ones)- update photos of stay with new furniture/decor
