Two Lanes Guesthouse - Historic Downtown Loft Apartment 45 miles S of Nashville
TWO LANES GUESTHOUSE is officially open to the public! This jaw dropping, 2nd floor walk-up apartment (no elevators) is located above a bike shop on the Columbia Town Square in a historic brick building that dates back to 1857. Only 45 miles south of Nashville, the loft features high ceilings, exposed brick, unique architecture and plenty of historic charm and is definitely worth the drive. The loft’s best feature may be the 13 ft windows that over look the square and the gorgeous 1905 courthouse, from which you can hear the clock in the tower on top of it chime every hour... Talk about WOW factor!
Measuring 1100 luxurious square feet, this loft has recently undergone a dramatic restoration by none other than Mike Wolfe of American Pickers. Featuring a playful mix of Wild West and Americana furnishings and decor, you can feast your eyes on unique, one of a kind pieces - many of which Mike has pulled out of barns and sheds across America. This is the first time that fans of American Pickers will get to see picks from the show presented as decor! Enjoy the collection of vintage denim and handprinted leather motorcycle jackets, 130 year old bicycles hanging from the ceiling, vintage signs and even a mint green 1951 Vespa! Hop on and pose for a Instagrammable worthy moment and share with your friends and family!
Walk out the door and you’ll discover an original downtown with a vibrant Main Street, bordered by the Duck River. Referred to as “Muletown” for the long standing tradition of “Mule Days” - an annual weeklong celebration going on in Columbia since the 1930’s, community pride and southern tradition run deep here. This fast growing Tennessee town is a year round destination filled with delicious local restaurants, great shopping, craft brews, plenty of art and history and a good live music scene.
Don’t miss out on a celebration of small town, Main Street America at it’s very finest. Enjoy Two Lanes Guesthouse and the Columbia Town Square for your next getaway!
Please note, there are 7 steps leading to the entrance and another 23 steps to get to the loft which is located on the 2nd floor (see photos).

This is the perfect location for a weekend getaway to Columbia! Walkable to restaurants and shopping. Every detail from the well equipped kitchen to the decor makes for a relaxing stay. Loved the record player and album collection!! Will definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed visiting downtown Columbia Tennessee, Enjoyed visiting Polk museum. Great place to visit and relax. Perfect location for this VRBO. Thank you for provided coffee, very nice. Disappointed no cable or satellite as listed, should probably just list it as having a smart tv….we actually rented this unit cause it said it had cable…other than that, we tried to make do!

Thank you for your thoughtful review and for choosing to stay with us! We’re so glad you enjoyed downtown Columbia and the Polk museum; such great local spots to explore. I did want to clarify that the home does have cable, as listed. You simply need to click on the TV-labeled app to switch between streaming services and cable. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again!
Just wrapped up another amazing stay at Two Lanes Guesthouse in Columbia, Tennessee. This was our second time staying on the property and, as always, it did not disappoint. The place is spotless, cozy, and full of thoughtful perks—Mule Town Coffee is always stocked, and the vinyl collection is such a fun touch. We loved spinning records and relaxing in such a comfortable space. Huge thanks again for another perfect getaway!
Had a fabulous experience shopping and enjoying Columbia as well as other surrounding towns.
People were so friendly and we even ran into Mike Wolfe from American Pickers. What a sweet down to earth man. Good food and great experience!
Just passing through the area on the way back up north from Florida. Have always been a huge fan of Mike Wolfe and his love of small towns so I felt like it was a must to checkout Columbia Motor Alley and this property. The property was amazingly clean, comfortable and well thought out. I would recommend this property and the area to anyone interested.
What an incredible stay this weekend! I usually stay in hotels when visiting my kids in Columbia, but never again. This flat was absolutely amazing—beautifully decorated, thoughtfully appointed, and the location couldn’t be better! The added perks, like the washer and dryer, record player, and the fresh coffee provided, made it even more special. I’ve already booked my next stay for April. Well done!
This was our first VRBO stay and it won't be our last. Everything from beginning to end was great. We discovered Columbia last fall and knew we would come back. The location is perfect, the restaurants are wonderful, people are welcoming and friendly and the loft is absolutely terrific. Being big "Pickers" fans, we loved the decor and antiques. We would recommend this location!!!! We can't wait to go back.
We loved Two Lanes! We loved being able to walk everywhere in the downtown square.
We usually like to cook a meal or two. There are no basics like Pam spray, cooking oil, tin foil, etc so you need to take all your own stuff.
We loved it & will plan to stay here again!
Comfortable, wonderful stay at Two Lanes Guesthouse!
My husband and I wanted to do a quick getaway to Columbia TN, and also to check out Franklin and Lieper's Fork.
We couldn't have found a better place to stay! The loft is charming and beautifully decorated with Mike's TV show finds, many of which we recognized from being longtime fans of the show.
The bed was ridiculously comfortable, and the kitchen and other amenities were perfect for our simple needs. We loved how the loft looked out onto the square, and enjoyed the beautiful clock tower just out the windows.
All in all, a fantastic stay! Thank you very much for a wonderful backdrop to an adventure we will cherish for many, many years. Bravo!
We’ve lived in Middle TN for 37 years and I have lived here all my life. But I’ve never visited Columbia TN. What a great place to visit and a great apartment around the Square. Great view of the square with large windows that can be covered by these long beautiful drapes. Very clean, with everything we needed. We enjoyed a new donut shop next store and had more than one dinner within walking distance. If you can be there on the first Friday of the month there is a great small street festival of sorts. We will be back.
We lived in Columbia for 12 years. I am a musician and ended up moving last year to Virginia to be near our grandkids. But we still have family and friends in Columbia area. Plus I was recording some new music at a studio. This place was absolutely amazing. Great location. Middle of everything. Right in the square. And of course, we knew of mike on American Pickers and the place is decorated like his show. We will be back.
This centrally located upstairs property is wonderfully decorated - a feast for the eyes and a unique living experience. The ceilings are very high making this one bedroom property feel twice its actual size. The kitchen appliances are top notch and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The TV worked perfectly and there is even a vinyl disc player and collection of great music. The bed mattress and sheets were super comfortable. Two things to consider: this property is accessible only via steep stairs, which is reflective of the era when this building was constructed. Also, the Court House's bell tolls every hour on the hour. The light sleepers in our family were not fans of that part. Even so, we highly recommend this beautiful Vrbo and we would definitely stay here again! 4.8 stars out of 5.
Awesome stay! Super clean and a piece of American history. If you love American Pickers you will love this place. Columbia is a fun town with shopping and Great food!
This space is like staying in a museum but in the best way possible. It’s super comfy, clean and really well decorated with the coolest antiques/collectibles. The location is perfect for those wanting to check out the square.
Highly recommend this listing!!!
This place really feels special from the first step through the front door. We spent most of the time listening to the awesome vinyl collection on the record player. Never even turned on the T.V. Such a cool place to unplug and relax. The owners were so helpful and responsive. We will be staying here again in the very near future.
Best experience ever, we felt right at home and didn’t want to leave!

One of my favorite things is to look outside the 13-foot windows at the 1905 courthouse and hear the clock in the tower on top of it chime every hour.
