This cabin is located on the river bank of the Canoochee River in Claxton, Georgia. This is a hidden treasure in south Georgia. The river is great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. During most of the year a vessel larger than a kayak will not be able to navigate the river. Note: Presently, winter months are not available to be booked. The past two winters have had excessive flooding. Host will make these weeks available two weeks at a time as the water level is adequate for access. This is the dream world for a nature lover. The cabin is located on the riverbanks of the river. The master bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the river. Wake up to the sight of the river each morning. Stroll down the river bank to enjoy the serene sounds of nature. The second bedroom has a triple bunk bed and a queen size bed. The loft has a twin size bed. No pets due to allergies. Wifi: Skyroam hotspot. Do not depend on this for work or school deadlines. 1 GB is given upon check in. Extra can be purchased from the host. Winter months are currently unavailable. Upon request, the host will release winter dates. This whole cabin is for you to use. The access roads are not "county maintained". You will travel down 1.5 miles of dirt roads. However, my compact car handles it well. You will find it worth the bumpy ride! Your vehicle will be dusty on a dry day and muddy on a rainy day. You will not escape with a clean vehicle. Kayaks are available for your enjoyment. I will be available by phone. If you prefer, I can meet you at check in. However, most guest just like to make themselves at home. I live 30 minutes away; therefore, it is not difficult for me to meet your needs. The cabin is located on the river in the woods. Other than the possibility of other guest in nearby cabins, one would feel they finally found the secluded place they needed. It is most possible during some times of the year, one will not see or hear anyone other than themselves and nature. There is the small community of Claxton, GA a few miles up the road. This city has everything one may need. There is a grocery store, several Dollar Stores, several fast food restaurants and many gas stations. Claxton is the home of "Claxton Fruit Cake Factory". Savannah, GA, a favorite tourist spot, is only an hour away. Statesboro, GA, the home of Georgia Southern University, is 30 minutes away. There is no public transportation. No pets due to allergies. No firearms or smoking inside. The river is unpredictable. If it rises to the point of limit access, you will be contacted and given full refund. Winter months are currently unavailable. Upon request, the host will release winter dates. This is located in a remote area. It will be just you and nature! This is a narrow river with stumps, therefore, only a "small" boat with a trolling motor can be used. This is also sometimes limited. This river is not adequate for jet ski, motor boat, etc. Also, in late summer the river is so low, kayaking becomes more work than pleasure. A total of 4 cabins and one yurt are owned by Kimberly. These are located in various locations along the river.
Provided bath linens are one set per guest (one bath towel and one wash cloth). Cleaning fee has not been charged/transferred to guest. Therefore, guest are expected to leave the cabin as received. It is a simple life. Guest whom are looking for the "resort" experience will be disappointed. White glove and high maintenance guest will not be content.

Great lodge cabin for our family to stay in. It had everything we needed and the toys for my 2 kids were great! We stayed for 5 nights while visiting my brother and sister in law.
We stayed at the Log Cabin for 2 nights during my sons recent Graduation. This rustic place is super quiet and had everything we needed to relax after the festivities. We did not have time to kayak but did enjoy the river view from the porch and dock areas. Great value for a quiet family getaway.
The location yurk was peaceful and serene. The York itself was clean and tidy with everything you may need for cooking, bathing, cleaning etc. The property manager was absolutely amazing to deal with. Thanks Kim!
It was everything we hoped it would be. Perfect cabin location. Very clean. Host was accessible and awesome. We had a ton of fun and it was exactly what we needed! Cannot wait to book this property again.
Enjoyed it. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms with great showers. Slept upstairs with rain hitting the deck made the best nights sleep in a long time. Enjoyed the lightning bug show in the woods. Good ac, kitchen and living room. Would definitely stay here again.
An old friend and I stayed at the Cabin to catch up and go fishing over a long weekend. We loved the cabin, which is very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The owner Kimberly stopped by when she saw us outside to make sure we were OK and gave us a fun bit of history on the area and cabin as well as answering questions we had. The place has it all, kayaks, a new gas barbeque grill, comfortable beds and sofas and a good kitchen (a lot more than you'd expect from a "cabin"). I'd stay again in a heartbeat if in the area!
Our family of four kids and my partner and I enjoyed getting away from the city over the weekend. We’ve visited other cabin but this one my family enjoyed the most. Not only is it roomy inside but the children enjoyed playing in the water outside. Thank you for allowing us to stay here. We were celebrating my birthday and the fact that I passed the state exam to become a Police Officer in Florida. Our stay here was great and the kids would definitely want to return!!

The area around the property could have been kept up better. The upstairs bathroom the toilet is rockie and shower floor is spongy. Other than that we had a great time and it was a great place to stay.
We had a great time staying in this cabin. Kim came kayaking by and gave us the courage to give it a try. She was very kind in helping teach our kids how to row the kayaks and just checking in on us. We did some fishing, took a walk, and hung out on the porch watching the river. The fireflies at night are the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. My niece loved catching the frogs. Staying here feels like you’re at a family lake house.
There are several rentals available on the property so they can accommodate couples or larger groups. It was a very relaxing getaway with a very pleasant home and nice extras like plenty of kayaks, a fire pit, a grill, etc. The "out of the way" and "close to nature" feel may not be for everyone, but the gentle river and birds chirping in the morning were just our speed. They are not kidding about the entrance road being challenging to navigate, but it was worth it to us and we managed fine in a sedan. The "neighborhood" has a definite "backwoods" feel with some rundown accessory buildings and equipment / RV's nearby, but we warmed up to the area once we settled in with the home and surrounding nature. Thanks for a great stay!!
