Mariners Cottage is a 200 year old listed ex fisherman's cottage right next to Emsworth Quay in Hampshire. It is in the best location in the village, just yards from the excellent shops, pubs and restaurants with harbour views from the day bed room. It is convenient for Chichester, Goodwood and the Gun Quays shopping in Portsmouth. The cottage is ideal for couples who enjoy good food, walking, sailing, birdwatching or just taking in a slower pace of life.
The cottage sleeps a max of three people comprising one double and a day bed room with views over the harbour. The bathroom is on the first floor. The stairs are quite steep and the property is not suitable for the very elderly and infirm. There is room in the courtyard behind the cottage for one car or a dinghy (the slipway is 20 metres from the cottage). Additional free parking is usually available on the nearby quay.

Great little cottage for two people, in town location, best fish and chips in town at Blue Bell across the street. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

This is an old fishing village. The houses are all old and very quaint. This house had great amenities, was clean and had off street parking. We loved and it and would definitely stay there again.
Mariners cottage is really nicely placed with a lovely view of the harbour from one of the bedrooms. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Pictures don’t do it justice. We would definitely return there and can recommend the Blue Bell Inn across the road.
Thank you David.
Our stay at Mariner’s cottage was one of several stays across Europe on this trip. It was one of the most memorable for it’s quaintness, originality and decoration. The cottage was very well stocked with everything we needed. There are amenities all within walking distance - groceries, bakery, butcher, and fantastic pubs and restaurants. We loved it and highly recommend it!!!
Delightful character property, conveniently located near the harbour, restaurants, pubs and town center with its own parking space. Very comfortable, clean, well equipped and presented from the welcoming flowers to the jar of biscuits. Also, David is a very accommodating host.Too short a stay and will return for a longer break next time.
This was actually for my elderly Uncle and Auntie who did struggle a little with the stairs but, had the most enjoyable experience where they were in the centre of the beautiful market town and experienced the local food and able to meet up with family in such a picturesque place and the weather was just perfect which was a blessing.
The host family could not if been more helpful and accommodating with us.
So thank you.
Ideal as well for transportation to all areas near by.
We enjoyed three relaxing nights at this cottage. It is very close to the water, and central to local restaurants and bakery. (Spice Village is an excellent Indian). The cottage is cheerful, spotless, and well-equipped. All questions were answered quickly. The steps going upstairs are steep, and there is a step down and then up between the bedroom and the bathroom. Definitely not for anyone with mobility issues, as they say in the ad. It’s in the perfect spot in a lovely little town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Mariners Cottage is a really pretty property, decorated with taste and with everything we needed for our one-week stay. We were very touched by the welcome goodies we found on arrival, a lovely touch from the owners. The cottage is just as it looked on the website and the location is ideal for visiting Hampshire and West Sussex, not to mention the proximity to the harbour in Emsworth itself and the wonderful view from the little bedroom. Emsworth has all the shops and amenities you can possibly need, apart from a fishmonger's. Although there is a secure parking space at the back of the property which we were very grateful for, it's very tight with a larger car and it was quite difficult getting in and out as the alleyway is quite narrow too but we would highly recommend this property and would go there again.
Faultless. Beautifully finished property. Three good quality pubs within 30 paces. Two fine dining options within 40 paces. A short amble to the harbour and a brief walk to a very well appointed town. Safe, secure parking. Easy check-in. Very clean. Pure luxury for a week. Thanks so much for a superb stay.
The property is as described, we had a nice welcome pack on arrival. Property is ideal for a family with three kids. Location is great, easy access to the Train Station(10min walk) for trips to Portsmouth etc if you don’t want to drive. Very good local amenities, restaurants & pubs, shops and access to harbour trips all on your doorstep. book early for all as we discovered. Really liked the property & surrounding area and happy to give 5 stars to all aspects.
Beautifully presented and in a superb position in the pretty little town of Emsworth. Having its own parking space was a real bonus. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable.
We had a brilliant time staying in the cottage. It was very welcoming and homely and enjoyed the biscuits and flowers that were provided.
The cottage was very well equipped and we had everything that we needed during our stay. The kids enjoyed the games and DVDs.
The location is fantastic, with great views from the cottage...being about 30 seconds from the nearest ice cream was especially welcome during the hot weather.
We have recommended the cottage to friends and family already!
Thank you!

Helemaal geweldig

I love sailing and have a yacht on a swinging mooring in the harbour (you can see her from the window of one of the bedrooms!). My wife and twin daughters also love the water - swimming, paddleboarding, windsurfing and dinghy sailing.
Why they chose this property
We bought Mariners Cottage because you can wheel your dinghy down to the water and Emsworth is the friendliest most accessible village on the South Coast with access to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
What makes this property unique
Mariners Cottage has the very best location in Emsworth.
