Sound Escape is a beautiful soundfront retreat with upgraded amenities and furnishings. [Note: No dogs or other animals allowed in this home.]

Beds: 3 King Masters, 1 Queen, 2 Bunk Bed Sets; 12 Towel Sets provided

ENTRY LEVEL:
The large Great Room has spectacular views of the Currituck Sound and comfortable seating in the living area with hardwood floors. Two bar islands have seating for 6 guests and the dining table seats 10. The breakfast nook seats 5 and there is a half bath on this level. The kitchen has granite countertops, microwave, wine cooler, gas cooktop and a double wall oven. Two extra full-size refrigerators are available, one in the garage and the other in the laundry room. One King Master Suite is on this level with sound views and a private sitting area. [Note: gas fireplace is not available for guest use.]

TOP LEVEL:
There are 2 King Master Suites with private bathrooms and flat-screen TVs. A Queen bedroom has a shared bathroom (shower/tub combo) with another bedroom furnished with two Bunk Bed sets. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV. An elevator connects all levels of this home which can also be accessed through the garage on the ground level. The media/theater room will be the one of the highlights of the family to enjoy a favorite movie or game.

EXTRAS:
The pool deck offers a view of the Currituck Sound and beautiful sunsets are almost guaranteed. Enjoy the private pool (12' x 23'), hot tub as well as using the gas grill. [Note: the fire pit is not available as it is prohibited by The Currituck Club covenants]. There is parking for 4-5 vehicles in the driveway. As guests within The Currituck Club, a premier-gated community and resort, your family can use its various amenities including free trolley service to the beach access and beach valet service (summer months only), a Clubhouse with on-site dining, a large community pool with kiddie pool at the main entrance, a Fitness Center, and courts for tennis, basketball, volleyball and pickleball. There are planned kids' activities offered during the summer and paths for walking and bike riding. Golfers in the family can make reservations to play the 18-hole course that is landscaped throughout the resort with sound and ocean views.

Location is Paradise

Outdoor kitchen was so dirty it is not useable. Between being right on the water, the trees overhead, and the storms, I am sure it’s impossible to keep clean. Even with that, I am giving it 5 stars. The location is amazing, the view is wonderful, and the house is fantastic. Close to restaurants, and saw plenty of wildlife right behind the house. The beach access point, shuttle and the teens who bring your beach gear to the beach were a pleasant bonus. This stay ruined all future beach vacations as it will be hard to match. Oh.. TVs were not smart TVs, but we were not there to watch TV. Would have been nice though for my special needs daughter, but still would give 6 stars if I could!

Do not do it!! Yes, it has a good view but it’s not worth it. The sound smells like sulfur due to the rotting grass (seaweed)which is choking and mostly killed the sound. The pool is not usable. They replaced the pool deck by just raising the whole deck but not the pool. This makes the filtration system in effective, making the pool unusable. Unless you’re ok swimming in a soup of leaves, branches, insects, and everything else that gets blown in from that great view. The owners do not invest in the house so there are literally 100 small things broken or falling apart. Nothing major like leaking roof but everything else has reached its lifespan. Bathrooms, kitchen cabinets, appliances, beds and dressers… everything is cheap and falling apart or down right trash.The management company is another joke. They offer no service after 5pm so WHEN - not if - your AC breaks, you’ll be without for the night which is awesome in 85-90 degree high humidity environments. They don’t care and think it’s funny. Don’t need the internet. They but the cheapest package - TV too - but their internet went down everyday and dropped every hour or two making working from home impossible. It was down for an entire day on two days.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. For the sake of accuracy, we would like to clarify a few points. Throughout your stay, our team responded promptly to every concern you raised. We spoke with you by phone, text and email multiple times each day, and unfortunately those conversations included repeated profanity and aggressive behavior directed toward our staff. We also arranged for an HVAC technician to visit immediately when concerns were reported, but the technician was turned away upon arrival. The pool was fully operational during your stay. As is common for waterfront properties, leaves and debris can occasionally be blown into the pool by coastal winds, and the pool is serviced regularly to keep it clean and usable. We respectfully disagree with the characterization of the home as "cheap" or "falling apart." The property is continuously maintained, updated, and accurately represented in our listing and photos. Many guests specifically compliment the home's amenities, condition, and comfort. Regarding the internet, there were brief service interruptions caused by severe weather in the area. These outages were outside of our control, and we communicated updates as soon as information became available. We take guest concerns seriously and work hard to provide a positive experience for everyone. While we wish you had enjoyed your stay more, we stand behind the quality of the property and the responsiveness of our team. We sincerely wish you the best in finding accommodations better suited to your expectations in the future.

Beautiful house, bad property management

The house itself is even better than advertised-- spacious, located in a very private neighborhood and cul-de-sac, lovely views of the sound and really magnificent sunset views. That being said, the property is not maintained properly and the management company did a poor job in preparing the house for our stay. There were a few major things that were unacceptable: the A/C system did not work and was not fixed properly even after a specialist came, the outdoor kitchen was filthy when we checked in and someone from the management company had to spend over an hour cleaning it for our use during our stay, beds and rooms were missing linens, and the lockbox system failed and needed new batteries during our stay. The first 3 days we were in the house we had to call the property management company every day. On the third day, when I expressed that this was unacceptable, the individual I spoke to claimed that they cannot predict things that need to be fixed. In reality, all of these things were specifically and explicitly listed as something for guests to address in the check-out instructions, so I think it is perfectly reasonable for the the property management company to ensure that it is set for guests checking in. TL;DR the house is great, but if you have to contact the management company half the days during your stay, I might look elsewhere.

Spacious Home in a Great Location

There were 10 of us and the house was very spacious and comfortable. The theater room sat 10 so we all had a comfortable recliner to watch movies from. The house is right on the Sound so the mornings and sunset are amazingly beautiful.

Most Amazing Sunset Views

This is the perfect house for entertaining. Pool overlooking some of the most beautiful views in OBX. Amazing open kitchen, backyard ping pong table and sitting area. We will definitely be back!
