Beautiful house in a perfect location
We stayed at the house for a week with all the family to celebrate our sons wedding at Tunnels Beach.
The house was perfect for us, all the bedrooms are en suite and beautifully decorated. Beds were extremely comfortable with super soft linens. The kitchen is well equipped.
Would definitely recommend a stay at Westwood.

Family celebration for a 90th birthday. This is an amazing house, great for all ages (even though its uphill). We loved and didnt want to leave. The host were very accomadating.
We stayed as a large family in this beautiful house with views.
The accommodation is so large we sometimes lost track of all the rooms, great to have such luxurious facilities, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen.
It’s spotlessly clean, we especially loved the huge dining table and general feeling of space in the property.
We used the BBQ and explored the steep gardens, there’s lots of beautiful art in all rooms which finishes off the property.
Our host was very easily contactable and helpful throughout the process of booking and checking out.
Would definitely recommend
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Westwood. The house was fantastically equipped with everything we could need. Spacious and very comfortable. Helen could not have been more helpful both before and during our stay.
You need to be a little bold to tackle the drive (steep with a sharp bend) and the back garden (also steep) but a fabulous house only minutes from town.
Thank you Helen.

Large house, plenty of room, beds were good, some faults
No useable garden as up very steep steps so not suitable for children or pets. Although we'd read about the barbecue it could only be used in the car park. Nice kitchen but saucepans needed washing before we used them. Enjoyed using the dining room. Couple of faults like loose toilet seats. Drive up to the house only suitable for small cars with strong clutches! Scobes with cream and jam very nice touch when we arrived. Otherwise nice big house. We all liked Ilfracombe.

Westwood does indeed have a steep garden that leads upto the coast path . It is suitable for pets and older /supervised children. We have a terrace that leads from the dining room which is where we suggest the bbq is used. Every house on the road has a steep driveway so we always suggest either parking on the road or walking up to check you are comfortable with it . As there are so many saucepans and pans we simply must have missed this.We would have fixed a toilet seat as soon as we knew but didn’t know until Andrew had left .
This really is a superb, spacious property. We were a family group of eight plus Labrador staying for Christmas and couldn't have asked for more. The kitchen was well equipped, and the oven perfectly sized to cook Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. The generously sized dining room was ideal to seat us all and the main lounge a warm, comfortable social space. All bedrooms were spacious with their own individual well maintained bathrooms. The utility room was sizeable and very useful for wiping down the dog after enjoying the excellent walks along the south coast path accessed from the top of the garden. Our host Helen went above and beyond providing a Christmas tree and decorations adorning the property and answering any queries promptly. Thank you, Helen, we really had a magical, festive stay. As others have said the steep drive is not for the fainthearted. There is quite a technical turn halfway up (and down again) too. Some of our group were not brave enough to attempt it but there is ample parking in the street below.
We were celebrating two family members birthdays and to do so 3 generations of the family stayed. 6 adults and 3 children.
The house is huge and with 6 en-suite bedrooms and a bathroom (accessed via a baronial staircase), downstairs loo and laundry room (with an Aunt Sally!), a large lounge, kitchen and further reception room, and large dining room, there was space to be together and apart. The kitchen was well equipped with an American style fridge freezer and a separate fridge (beer!), dishwasher and cooking range, and outside was a large gas barbecue. Bedding and towels were provided, as was a welcome jam and cream for lovely scones.
The tvs in every room were welcomed (by the children) as was the Wi-Fi (welcomed by the adults).
Access from the road to the building was more problematic with a steep tight hairpin bend, but practise made perfect as they say. The rear garden was really only useable to access the footpath into the surrounding hills and although I didn’t make use of it the younger contingent and dog did, and they said views were worth the effort.
All in all a very successful stay and I’d recommend the place for families or groups of friends.
Our host, Helen, kept in touch and was ready for any problems (of which there were none!).
We are a family of 6 ( ‘children’ aged 13-23). and have just had the most brilliant 5 nights away: house is really comfortable, stylish, modern, spacious, and well equipped. Fantastic walking/running/ swimming on your doorstep. Totally relaxing. Owner is very helpful.
Excellent property. Very comfortable and plenty of room for 10. Beautifully appointed & decorated. Great location.

A Christmas house to remember...!
Helen was a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble.
Our family, consisting of 9 adults and 1 child rented this house for Christmas. The house was big enough to accommodate us all easily, but was not so large that you felt lost inside.
The house and bedrooms were comfy, warm and well equipped for such numbers whilst the lounge was large enough we could all sit and talk together. The kitchen too was sufficiently equipped to handle the cooking of Christmas dinner!
The house suited our needs perfectly and helped make it a Christmas to remember, one that will last with all of us for many years to come.

Stunning house in great location
Beautifully appointed house with everything you need for an upmarket stay. The house was spotlessly clean, the bedding luxurious and the towels fluffy although the house is huge it still felt warm and cosy on a chilly November day. Town and beaches are in easy reach on foot or by car. As others have said the driveway and approach to the house is steep, care is needed. We would recommend the house and would definitely stay here again in the future.

Perfect in every way!
We stayed here at the beginning of June for 4 nights when we got married at Tunnels Beaches. It was the most perfect house for us with ample room that meant we could both be in the house but not see each other on the morning of the wedding. The rooms are immaculate and so luxurious! Helen was easy to communicate with and left out some scones with jam and cream for our arrival. Westwood is less than 10 mins walk to tunnels making it the perfect stop for a wedding! I wish we had another excuse to stay again!

Fabulous, lots of space for all the family.
We all had a great time. Only 7 minute walk to Tunnel Beach where our daughter was getting married.
The only downside is the driveway which is very steep and a few bends.

Tasteful, well laid out and well equipped house where all the bedrooms are of excellent standard
I took a group of girls to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and they were all delighted with this stylish house. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked for 10 easily. The driveway took us by surprise, especially with our long MPV and pick up truck, we were glad we arrived in the light as I wouldn't want to try the drive for the first time in the dark or if the road was icy. Thank you Helen for your advice on where to eat, we certainly had one of the best ever fish meals at 'Expresso'.

Beautifully furnished and full of character. A house of comfort and plenty of space.
We were welcomed and nothing felt like too much trouble. Great location for the Tunnels. We rented the entire house for a family wedding. The property worked so well for all of us. Lots of space, plenty of seating and all rooms had en suite bathrooms. Everyone found their bed comfortable. All in all we couldn't fault it.

Fabulous place in a great location
Huge property with plenty of space for entertaining. Each room is neautifully decorated with its own infividual style. Great location on the coastal path and only a dhort walk to the harbour. Helen's personal touches really make this place stand out from the crowd - the cream tea and prosecvo were lovely little extras.

Outstanding Property - exactly as described!
We had a whale of a time! 11 of us visiting Ilfracombe for wedding and this house was the absolutely perfect location. 6 stunning bedrooms, perfect downstairs space and plenty of room to enjoy a drink or 2!
I cannot recommend this house enough if you are looking for somewhere to stay, within easy walking distance of town and Tunnel Beaches. Helen was the perfect host, on hand before and during our stay to answer any questions and make sure we had an unforgettable time at Westwood. The girls were also very pleased to see the homemade scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival.....they didn't last long!
Thanks again Helen, amazing property and renewed our confidence in hiring a house rather than using hotels.

Beautiful period stylish house
The pictures looked amazing but in the flesh the house was even more beautifully furnished and jaw dropping. Westwood was a lovely size to accommodate the 12 of us but also had such a homely feel. With the harbour a 15-20 minute walk with lovely restaurants and pubs. it was a perfect location. Would love to visit again.

Luxurious, spacious and stylish
Wow, what a stunning house! We stayed as a group of four couples to celebrate a 40th birthday. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It was very warm despite the size and the kitchen was well equipped.
The mixture of period features and more contemporary pieces of furniture and art was a perfect combination.
My partner and I previously lived in Ilfracome and so know the area well, however the information Helen provided was very thorough and would be of great use to those unfamiliar with the location.
We were very grateful for dishwasher tabs, tea, toilet rolls etc to get us started and were especially excited about the scones!
We had an enormously relaxing weekend and we shall certainly be booking a return visit.
Thank you so much.

Perfect
There were 10 of us that stayed at Westwood for 9 nights, ranging in age from 76 down to 19. All the bedrooms are a great size and 2 of them had full bathrooms while the others had ensuite so and then there were the extra bathrooms with more baths!! A great house for everyone to have there space if they need it but great communal areas too! Thanks Helen for the 2 bottles of bubbles in the fridge!! The location of Westwood was great too. Up the back garden, out the gate to the beautiful coastal track, and down the hill to a small supermarket that has most of what you need.
Helen was always accomodating and easy to communicate with.
If you do stay in ilfracombe make sure you visit the lovely cafe Annie and the Flint. If you want a good coffee you will get it here!
