The house is so beautiful, we even considered coming back next year together. The house was so clean, everything we needed was there.
The cameras inside the house are a little weird and made us feel weird, but other than that it was a great place to stay.

Nancy, thank you for the review....You guys were great. With regard to the camera you are one of our first few guests as we just recently started offering the property for short term rental. I am removing the cameras this week as we frankly forgot they were there!
We will move them to the front and rear porch exterior to the home for security purposes. Sorry that that was a concern but I can assure you they were not accessed and do not record. They were a part of our security system. Thanks for staying with us and we would love to host you again.
The people undersold the property It was the best place we have ever stayed.
Place was nice and we totally enjoyed the whole place. Spent most of the time at the house with the family using all the amenities. Was just a beautiful place.
Within striking distance of Mammoth Cave National Park, LP offers spacious and luxurious accommodations for upwards of 15 folks. Expectations more than met!
We had a great time at the cabin. It was very spacious and comfortable for our entire group. The extra refrigerators, dish washer and kitchen sink were great to have. We could sit everyone at the long dining room table and the kids at the extra table. It was great to relax on the porches. We loved the swing on the front porch. Beautiful place!
This property is AWESOME! This facility is top of the line, quality, all the way! Very hospitable and everything that you would ever need is provided. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable for all of us. My only suggestion is that you have another TV in the living room on the main floor and possibly one in the master bedroom. With 4 boys aged 9 or 10, the TV downstairs was always being used for video games, and after they went to bed, we hated to turn it on and wake them. Other than this, everything was perfect! We ended up only having 4 adults and 5 kids, but there would have been room for 3x that many! I highly recommend this property! Thank you so much!
We were a group of 11, 8 adults and 3 children, ranging in age 8-71. Four families from 3 different states. This was our annual get-together/family reunion. We all loved the property. The large dining table afforded us to have meals together, play games and have round table conversations. In short this property had all the comforts of home, close to Mammoth National Park and boating on Nolan Lake. The property owner very informative and responsive. Highly recommend Lonesome Pine Lodge.
If you are looking for a place to unplug, relax, and connect with a large group, this place is just that. Lots of space and areas to hang with others, or forsolitude time. Our entire family of 11 plus a few teen friends, young and old enjoyed this location. Owners were very hospitable and available if needed. Highly recommend. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your home!
This is a truly beautiful and unique property. The owners have lovingly furnished it to an amazing style. It doesn’t feel like a VRBO property but more like your own private lodge. First some practical details that are important for large groups( we were 10 adults, 3 babies): 3 refrigerators, well equipped kitchen, plenty hot water and good shower pressure, plenty of towels, many areas to hang out separately. The house is very clean. The property is beautiful, plenty of outdoor space, a beautiful view from front porch overlooking the barn and pasture. Will be back.
This house was amazing. The house and surrounding property were beautiful. It is apparent the moment you pull up to the house that it is well taken care of and showcased many fine details. The owners were very accommodating and easy to reach. We would return again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a place to get away for a few days and spend quality time with family this is definitely the place!
We travelled with some friends to the property and had a wonderful weekend away from our respective big cities. The pictures don’t do the house justice-it was massive and wonderful for a large group! The outdoor space was great for outdoor dining and enjoying a glass of wine (or 2) under the stars

Thanks Veronica... you guys are great and welcome back any time!
Kathy and I were high school sweethearts who grew up outside of Louisville but both of our families have their roots here in Central KY. Kathy’s family immigrated from Ireland in the 1850’s and ended up in Smiths Grove, KY and my family traces its roots to right here near Mammoth Cave where 14yr old Robert M Davis mined salt peter in the cave to make gunpowder during the War of 1812 with the British.
The cabin sits nears the back of a 40 acre farm that we bought In 2000 when our three kids were young teenagers. The small log “A frame” near the front corner and the green ranch house on the other front corner were the only structures at the time and we spent 8 years coming down with friends and family riding horses In the park. In 2008 we began building the cabin and working on our horse camp (Mammoth Cave Horse Camp) which is 2 miles further down Ollie Road. We opened the cabin and the horse camp In 2010 and have continued to have many memorable weekends ever since. We hope you can “slow down” and enjoy this special place as much as we do. There Is no better place to grab your favorite drink and get lost In a conversation!
Why they chose this property
The property itself is truly special from the layout and its open spaces for large group fellowship, to its unique, one of a kind decor. It blends gathering spaces with private getaways beautifully. We have used it for 11 years with our family hosting 20 or more people and it was built for that. Only in 2000 did we begin to open it up for outside guests and everyone seems to feel the same way about it that we do! Beyond the property and lodge the area has many fun daytime activities including nearby Nolin lake, miles of National Park hiking, biking, or horseback riding and 30 minutes away in Cave city there are a number of fun attractions geared for children. A perfect long weekend for a large family with many interests!
