We traveled from the Chicago suburbs with a group of various ages for a weekend trip, and the house was a great fit for us. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out, relax, and enjoy time together. Overall, we had a really nice stay. There were a few minor hiccups, but I shared them directly with the owner and they were very receptive to the feedback, which I appreciated. Would definitely consider staying again!
Easy to drive too, and plenty of parking. This cabin was a wonderful choice for a family gathering. The cabin was three-levels, 7 rooms, and had a game room/home theater. The kitchen/living room is on the top floor, only thing that would of made it better would have been if it was on the bottom floor. Hot tub was a nice addition as well! 5-Stars!
Easy to get to and the host was very welcoming. My family and I really enjoyed that it was decorated for Christmas. The only thing that I would point out is that the property is 3 levels and the kitchen is on the third level, so keep that in mind when thinking about bringing in groceries and older relatives climbing those stairs. Overall, great stay.
This house is great for families. Plenty of room to spread out with a bonus game room and theatre! The decks were awesome to relax on, and the fire pit was a nice bonus. It is in a great location, relatively close to everything.
Huge house - so many rooms and beds on every floor! Plenty of space to spread out. Table space for 12 to sit at once. Kitchen is pretty small but has what you need. Decor is all bears and adorable. Location is great - quiet and woodsy but easy to get to the main road and the stores you need. Wifi worked well. Host was extremely friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!
This is a great cabin. Very clean. Everything you need. It is very close to everything but still very private. The fire pit was my favorite part. Will definitely stay here again.
The host did a fantastic job of making sure we were accommodated. He ensured that everything was in order and even went out of his way to accommodate our plans. I appreciate Matt for his commitment to being such a great Vrbo host!
The family really enjoyed the stay. Everything was nice and clean. No complaints. Our stay was awesome. I recommend Smoky Mountain Hideaway. Thanks for hosting.
Our family had a great stay! There was plenty of room for our 15 family members (mostly adults, but 3 teenagers as well). The movie room was a highlight... we brought Rock Band with Us and it was a great space to play and watch. The location was very convenient to the outlets and many activities. Definitely recommend!
Matthew was by far the best VRBO host I’ve ever worked with! He was super helpful, extremely attentive, checking in was a breeze! I would def stay here again!! Thanks for making my bday weekend so memorable!
We had a great time . This cabin was perfect for our group of 12 . Plenty of rooms /beds . It was clean the host was very friendly answering all of our questions. Will definitely e booking again .
This cabin was large enough to accommodate the family / friend gathering we had in an October - people could stop by and visit with plenty of room . Each deck was awesome and it had 7 bedrooms with comfortable beds . Each room was clean . The kitchen was medium sized and was easy to use and open to the common area . The wood was beautiful in each room . The parking lot was ample for 15 vehicles of different sizes. This cabin was in a quiet neighborhood , not much traffic . It was close to all the amenities in Sevierville . Each person that stayed at Cabin kept mentioning how comfortable it was . Matt was a great host . He answered quickly and consistently when I was arranging cabin . We didn’t have any issues with anything and check in wa simple and easy . I would recommend this place for friends and family gatherings or for multiple couples get away .
We enjoyed our time but a lot of the amenities listed were not operational. The cabin is very outdated. The air hockey table turned on but no air came out. The foosball table was missing the ball. The arcades are very dated but they worked. The door knobs were very loose and rickety and the downstairs bathroom door had paper towels stuck into it to get it to latch. The tub on the second floor has a huge crack in it that was sealed with some type of glue. The downstairs shower has a lot of mold in it. There wasn’t much tissue, no paper towels and one dish washer tab and one laundry pod so we had to go to the store immediately. We certainly understand that a rental won’t have supplies for the entire stay but usually there is enough to get you through the first night. The element in the stove is going bad the oven would not heat up with food in it but if I took everything out and only had one item in it, then it would work and come up to the proper temp. if you didn’t lock the doors with the bolt the wind would blow the door open leading to the decks. Some of the stairs had nails sticking out so my husband had to get a hammer to make sure the nails didn’t hurt anyone after my mother in law tripped over one that was protruding. Several of the remotes to the tvs did not have batteries so we had to go to the store to get more. Host was very friendly and communicative and allowed us to check in early and check out late. We still had a great time and enjoyed Gatlinburg immensely.
It was the right size for our group as we had all ages involved in the reunion, which was fun. Spent lots of time, outlook and Gatlinburg, pigeon Forge and Sevierville. But felt nice getting back to the cabin and just relax and utilize everything that was there which was really nice for the kids. Thank you again for making our stay really good.
House was perfect our size of group. 9 people.
Host was very attentive . We had a minor with the upstairs, but it was cool at night anyway and was fixed the next day.
Plenty of things to do/ see around town.
Only thing we thought was odd, was that there was only a tub in the Master room, no shower.
Thanks again for a great stay !
Bad layout, kitchen on 2nd floor lots of narrow stairs, one bath was tub only one bathroom had a walk in shower that was so small you couldn’t hardly turn around and no shelves in it so you had to put your stuff on the floor in the shower. It shows like it has a nice pond ( wrong it is a small mudd hole two properties over and cannot be seen from the property. No view at all, construction ( building a new one next door) loud!!! Sitting area not as appealing as in the pictures.
Two hours before we were to check in to the house we rode by the property. Two trash cans were overturned and trash was on the side of the driveway. We took a photo and tried to send it to the owner. Couldn’t upload the photo but sent him details of what happened. He told us that the house was double booked, he would refund our money and that we would have to find another place. With 5 cars of family members coming from 3-7 hours away that put a major dent into our planned weekend. We had booked about 2 months prior. We had paid all of our and received a code to enter the house. What in the world.?
The cabin was awesome. We were all able to find our own space and the top floor was the gathering spot. The game room and theater room was loved by all.The check-in and out process was a breeze. The host was just a message away. I would stay again.
The host is great and the house is great but the pictures are misleading the house is very tight on the inside.

About the host
Hosted by Matt Stallings
Originally from Charlotte, NC. I've been coming to the greater Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountain National Park area since I was a young boy with family. I love this part of the country and is always a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Why they chose this property
I picked this property because my family has been coming to the Smoky Mountains since I was just a little kid. We always enjoyed large family cabin gatherings once or twice per year so I wanted to provide that same opportunity to others. We fell in love with the property once we saw it and rent it out to guests throughout the year.
What makes this property unique
It is very spacious and great for large group and family gatherings. It's also located close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas but still far enough away to feel cozy and secluded.
