About this property
360 Views of Choco Rainforest
This house is in the heart of chocolate territory, located in the verdant heart of the Galera-San Francisco Marine Reserve. Uniquely beautiful in design, it is hexagonal on the first floor, and upstairs boasts a 10-sided dormitory with 360 degree views of the most vibrant remaining Pacific Choco rainforest. It is part of a 300-acre agroforestry farm called Finka Aekolado.
All rooms are actually spacious, private and clean tents with comfy beds and mosquito netting.
This is a house like no other. Local clay foundation, giant bamboo, an experience of being up in the tree tops with the abundant birds, like the little toucan *pichilingua* who sometimes fly right through the house. If you are a bird watcher, this house is for you!
We have clean & odorless composting toilets. It's the ecological and responsible choice. We have hot showers.
The house has it's own kitchen and you'll want to shop in Tonchigue or Muisne before coming and bring some staples with you. There is only one small shop in Caimito, which sells things like eggs and rice and toilet paper and candy. You can also talk to local farmers about buying the fruits and vegetables and eggs which they produce. It's fresh and organic.

About the host
Hosted by Lily Hollister

We are members of Finka Aekolado, a group of people caring for 300 acres in the Caimito and Coquito watersheds. We care deeply about the Choco rainforest and the regenerative cacao farms of the Galera-SanFrancisco Penninsula (and beyond!). We are committed to this region and the people who are protecting the forests, beaches and oceans in this area. This house is our community house when we host gatherings, courses, or retreats.
