What a wonderful place to stay! To be honest, the description doesn't capture how nice this place is. We were primarily here for a concert at the local castle, but had a great time exploring the local region as well. If we come back next year we'll definitely be booking again.

Beautiful small cottage suitable for solo or couple.Everything you need and in a peaceful location.Graham and Chris couldn't have been more helpful and literally went out of their way to help when my car developed a fault.Highly recommended and would stay again if I am in the area.

Really lovely space for a couple and a cocker spaniel. Hosts are very friendly and helpful with ideas for walks and places to eat around the area. The accommodation is really cosy and easy to get to different places in Chester.

The cottage was clean and the hosts left cereal, fruit, crackers, milk, butter, tea, coffee, sugar and other items like condiments. The kitchen had all you need for a weeks stay.The outside seating area was lovely including the garden. The hosts are extremely friendly people and their recommendations and ideas for days out were invaluable and made our stay easier. It is pet friendly and had use of the paddock when horses in other field. You are spilt for choice for pubs/eating places and are all excellent. There is plenty to do in and around the area. Some with spectacular views. We also found the locals in pubs were very friendly and gave us ideas for days out. In a nut shell we loved the little cottage and area. We will return we are sure.

Chris and Graham were wonderful hosts and provided us with a lot of information about different things to visit nearby. I'd say we'd stay there again but we live in the United States and probably this will be our only visit.

After a long haul flight from Sydney and a drive to Barton… it was wonderful to meet Chris who greeted us on our arrival. The cottage was very welcoming and peaceful - just right for us to recover from our travels. We will be back

Beautiful little retreat. A paddock for the dog to play in on the doorstep.Very cosy with the log burner. Very attentive hosts, leaving many little touches for us to enhance our stay. Lots of walks in the area with a choice of eateries close by. Ideas for places to eat and to walk are provided in the cottage.

The perfect rural retreat.

The cottage is very comfortable with views over a paddock. The location suited us as it was in a small, quiet village with walks from the door but also easy travelling distance to larger places like Chester. The hosts are very welcoming with helpful recommendations.

Super place to stay

We used the cottage as a base to stay for visits over the border to Wales and on to Chester on our last day. It was so cosy and comfortable to return to, very private and peaceful. Great selection of pubs nearby too with excellent food. Would highly recommend

Our stay was fantastic, we needed to restore our batteries and we did. A wonderful location pubs a plenty.For us the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the views with a heater for the late nights sitting out side.

Peace and quiet in an area with so many walks within a short disrance and a good selection of dog friendly cafes and pubs. Chris and Graham are excellent hosts of this small but perfectly formedcottage.
