Welcome! With a spectacular view of the world's second largest Barrier Reef. Las Amapolas is tucked among coconut palm trees and a white sandy beach. Las Amapolas is in a secluded beach which was once an old coconut grove (El Cocal) about 4 1/2 miles north of San Pedro Town, on the Mata Grande Area of Ambergris Caye. It is a 30 minute ride on golf cart to San Pedro Town. The road can be bumpy sometimes due to pot holes. Las Amapolas (386 sq. ft.), features a private balcony, a king size bed, with beach-chic furnishing. It's a fusion of simplicity, nature and comfort - Naturally Beautiful. P.S.
You may find seaweed/sargassum on the beach shoreline from seasonal shifting of currents and weather patterns in the region.
Other things to note: Power Outages are not uncommon on Ambergris Caye. We at Las Amapolas do our best to ensure that whenever this happens you are still comfortable. Please note that when the power goes out water is still available in your room. We also provide you with an emergency light for your use if the power goes out at night. The service is usually restored within a couple of hours. The power outages are out of our control. The Belize Electricity Limited the provider of electricity here in Belize should have this problem resolved soon. San Pedro Town has a Caribbean/Mexican lifestyle and is bustling in activities during the day. Visitors can enjoy and experience the island cuisine at one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars in town. Or just simply enjoy watching the locals going about their daily chores

Off the main strip, quiet and beautiful sunrises. Gach was friendly and checked to make sure we had what we needed. We would definitely stay there again!
We only stayed here for two nights, and the place was clean, bed comfortable and the view of the beach was wonderful. Having the restaurant Hidden Jewel was so convenient, we just walked down the beach for a few minutes. The bartender and the waiter were great and the food was fabulous. We even had a guy come up the beach the first morning on his bike selling breakfast burritos and they were so good. We called him Burrito Boy. Unfortunately, he did not show up the next day. The dock out front was great. We booked a fishing trip with Thomas and had the time of our life. I caught my biggest fish ever, lots of other fish lost some big groupers and had a wonderful bbq on the beach at lunch time. Wonderful place to stay.
Great, quiet spot right on the beach, room was enough size for 2 people, bed was great, AC cooled the room very well at night, beautiful view off the balcony, ocean breezes all day... really no complaints, just had a fantastic time and will be going back for sure.
The room was a bit smaller than I imagined, but the location was nice and secluded. However, there is still plenty to do within a very short distance! The view is just amazing and the patio was perfect for hanging out. The host was responsive and the people on the property were very nice. Thank you for a lovely and memorable vacation!
Los Amapoles was such a beautiful destination. We loved the view and privacy. Gach and Nellie were both excellent communicators. The people that live nearby were friendly. The outdoor shower and amazing trees made the stay feel very magical. It was a true tropical escape.
We booked this property for our honeymoon stay and first time trip to the island. Our overall experience was 5 stars. The casita is great and located far enough from town for it to be peaceful and quiet. Thank You Gach for a wonderful place to stay.
This place was a perfect mix being far enough out of town to feel private, secluded, and quiet but being close enough to town to be convenient for groceries, meals out, and going on excursions. The snorkeling just off our beach was as good as any and it was easy to book a fishing trip, dive trips and snorkeling with a couple of companies, and to drive over to Secret Beach. The apartment has a very comfy bed, an excellent shower, and a lovely and comfortable shaded balcony. We would book here again.
My husband and I loved our stay!!! It was absolutely beautiful. The family that lives there are so welcoming and warm. We did a fishing excursion with Thomas, that lives on the property and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit San Pedro!
Not so much a condo as a nice room with a great view. We had an AC issue but it was addressed and corrected quickly. The improvements that are planned will help out such as a larger fridge with a bigger freezer and a ceiling fan. Both items were missed and will be appreciated in the future. Great little compound and excellent communication.
This was our first time at the island and we loved it! We’re so glad we chose this property to stay in. Gach is one of the friendliest people you would ever meet. He gave us so much Information and tips and always took time to have a conversation with us. He was never in a hurry to be somewhere else. He has Ronnie on the property who helps keep the property up and he is one of the hardest working and friendliest kids you will ever meet. We want to check out other islands there, but when we stay in that area again we will specifically stay at one of Gach’s properties
My husband and I booked this as a congratulatory trip! We purposefully booked something out of the way. We woke up to beautiful sunrises every day and went to bed to the sounds of the ocean each night. The ride into town is on the long side (about 30 minutes), but you get used to it. Pot holes and dust are a given. The only thing I would change is getting a golf cart with better seats and shock absorption! Nonetheless we drove that thing from south of town to north of the casitas. Enough cooking equipment to heat up leftovers and fridge space for drinks, milk, yogurts. No freezer space really, so def bring a cooler if you like to keep ice on hand. The fridge kept what we needed perfectly cold.
A 5 gallon jug of water was provided which was a nice surprise since we drink a ton of water! Plenty of towels, hot water, and basic sundries in case you forgot anything. Cute and friendly dogs (from next door, I think) sometimes greet you and let you pet them, too! We will definitely be back...but with a more robust golf cart :)
This was my first visit to Belize and after having done alot of research, deciding on San Pedro, the task of where to stay was next. I chose Las Amapolas because of the pictures, property description and being on the beach. I just wanted to kick back and relax. Las Amapolas was the just the answer. I loved starting and ending my day sitting on the balcony, (we stayed on second floor) feeling the sea breeze, listening to the waves and the birds. Yes, it is about 4.5 miles outside the town, but we rented a golf cart, and had no problem getting around. There are lots of potholes in the roads outside of town but can maneuver around them with golfcart. Before and after arrival, Gach and his team were very responsive to my inquiries. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Thank you Gach, Nellie, and team for making my birthday weekend a success.
Great property. I loved the bed and the views from the balcony. Hearing the wind and waves every morning was priceless. The only problem was the distance from the downtown area and the pot holes are horrible. As far as the room itself. A GREAT PRICE TO STAY!!! GREAT PEOPLE ALSO! Very helpful.
We enjoyed our stay…the balcony and view were unbeatable. Gach met us the day we checked in at the residence and his team helped coordinate our arrival and a golf cart. If you are looking to relax in an out of the way quiet place, this is it.
Very relaxing. Good accommodations and great balcony to watch the sunrise and the tropical storms. Would definitely recommend this property to our friends. Thanks!

Why they chose this property
The land has been in the family for a very long time. In 2015 my father passed away and we his children (seven men and three women) inherited the land. One of my brothers and I decided to build a casita to spend our free time and share it with tourists that are looking for a quiet little piece of paradise.
What makes this property unique
The place is out of town. A ten minute boat ride or a 30 minutes by golf cart.
