ABOUT THE HOUSE:
This house has coastal and nautical decor, is a half mile off US1, and has 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6 comfortably.
The open floor plan in the kitchen and living / dining area is great for entertaining cooking. The living room has a large sectional white leather sofa (updated since photos! ) with room for the whole family to watch movies, and a 50" TV. The dining area has a glass table that seats six. From the kitchen you can see the backyard through the Florida room to the pool, and beyond to the lake where you can spot tons of wildlife. With a view of the pool and the yard/lake, the kitchen is a true joy to cook in.
The master bedroom has 50” TV, and a king-sized bed (updated since photo). Master bedroom has a small attached bathroom and French doors leading to the Florida room with a huge mango tree outside the bedroom window.
The second bedroom has a queen Serta pillow-top bed. This bedroom has windows facing the front & side yard and is located next to the 2nd bathroom. The Flamingo Suite is on the other side of house with an office/game room attached with french doors and a view of the back yard, lake and pool/tiki area. The suite's bedroom has a full bed, and the office/game room has a futon sofa with access to the Florida room and sunset views to the back yard. The office has a nice desk, chair and monitor (updated since photo). The suite has its own entrance to the back yard, (through the office) so that you can come and go without entering the front door.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY:
Ideal for a family that wants convenience and privacy. The yard is huge and fenced and very dog friendly. The pool and Tiki hut are like being on vacation every day. There is a hottub and grill with both charcoal and propane. Eleven palm trees are scattered across this lush yard; three coconut palms keep fresh coconuts in supply year round. Three mango tress with unique varieties have fruit in the summertime, as well as guava, banana, and lychee fruit if you come at the right time of year! Enjoy local fruit and farm fresh eggs from for the rest of the year. The stars in this area are phenomenal- no big city lights!
ABOUT THE AREA:
There is great fishing in this area, but if you can't catch your own- fresh seafood on the Indian River is available at several great restaurants scattered up and down the lagoon with unmatched views of the spoil islands and river beaches. Kroegel roadside fruit stand just one mile up US 1. There is also a fantastic seafood market in Sebastian- Crab-E-Bills.
The Spoil Islands scattered over this portion of the Indian River Lagoon are so much fun to kayak or boat to! See plenty of dolphins and manatees or cruise over to the sand bar at the Sebastian Inlet at high tide for crystal clear water that flows in from the Inlet. Take a tour of the famous Pelican Island where you can see one of the oldest wildlife refugees in the country. Skydive at the Sebastian Airport just 5 miles away where you can fly over the Sebastian River and see all of the gorgeous views from above. The closest beach is located just over the 510 bridge at Wabasso Beach where the Vero Beach Disney Resort is located. The beach is less than a ten minute drive. The 510 bridge offers a great fishing areas with boat and kayak launches and water access on both sides so you can stay out of the chop.
Coastal Central Florida is a region unlike anywhere else - its fantastic! You can fish in the lake on the property, (please dont eat the fish from lake)-but the Indian River is only 1 mile away. The Saint Sebastian River is nearby as well. There are snook, snapper, tarpon, trout, catfish, grouper, flounder, and more coming in to the Lagoon from the inlet. To access some of the different bodies of water locally you can go to:
-Sebastian Main Street Boat launch is 2.5 miles
-Dale Wimbrow Park boat ramp for the Saint Sebastian River is 6 miles
-the closest beach is 4 miles (Wabasso beach)
-Sebastian Inlet is just 12 miles by car but can also be accessed from the river
-Wabasso 510 Causeway Park is 4 miles and has multiple access points
Enjoy world class surfing and fishing off the pier at the Sebastian Inlet, as well as a huge sandbar and tidal beach where you can see manatees up close and for the kids to swim are just a few things to do at the inlet. If you don't want to fish or do water activities- there are usually events/festivals on the weekends at Riverview Park, or check out the farmers market at the Kashi spiritual community or perhaps some of the local treasure museums. There are even more activities in Vero Beach such as golfing, movies, shopping, or Riverside Theater. The house is just over a 1 hour scenic drive to Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center, or stay home since you can see the rockets launch from the back yard! Ninety miles from Orlando and Disney World, 2.5 hours from Miami, and 3 hours to Jacksonville, Sebastian straddles Central and South Florida and has convenient access to practically the whole state.
Other important places nearby: Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is just 10 miles South (Vero Beach) and offers world class healthcare from the #2 hospital system in the country. Vero Beach and John's Island are home to some of the best golf courses and country clubs in the region.
PLEASE NOTE: This home has down feather pillows and is not recommended for people with allergies to down. The garage is not accessible to guests. Owner may come to get items out of garage while you are there. While pets are welcome, I will have the carpets professionally cleaned therefore the pet fee is non-refundable. Additional damages will be withheld from deposit if needed. There is an alligator that lives in the lake. Do not swim in the lake or allow children or pets in the lake. The gator has never been a nuisance and cannot enter the yard over the sea wall, but please do not feed the gator or harass him if you do see him- It is against Florida state law. Bring bug spray.
