You will appreciate the proximity of Grande-Anse and the Caribbean Sea which you can easily reach on foot. Many beaches near Deshaies.
Superb sunsets from the terrace overlooking the sea and the hills around Deshaies.
The Mangoplaya lodgings also benefit from the calm of the tropical forest and a garden by the large swimming pool (closed on weekends).
We can accommodate two to four people (over 12 years old) in the gîte, and two people in our studio. No more, which represents a guarantee of tranquility and conviviality.
Our cottage has two bedrooms (one of which is small), a living-kitchen area, a bathroom with shower and toilet, and terraces with sea views.

Great potential - fixes needed

Raymond is a charming and very responsive problem-solving landlord. Walking distance to the spectacular beach Grand Anse as well as to the restaurants and shops of Deshaies provides significant attraction value. On the negative side is the distinct smell of mould in the room, due to moisture in the wall, and the lack of a place to sit outside, shielded from the intense sunshine and the frequent but brief rain showers. The mould issue needs to be resolved to justify letting the room at all as guests may have allergy problems. An umbrella outside would have provided a cheap and quick fix to a problem that prevented us from enjoying the magnificent view of the Caribbean while reading a book in the company of a beer or a coffee on many a beautiful afternoon, after the swim or hike, and before dinner. With these two issues resolved the experience will be very nice indeed, but we left early to find another place to stay.

Sehr schöne und gepflegte Unterkunft mit einem traumhaften Ausblick auf das Meer

Corinne und Raymond sind supernette Gastgeber und stehen jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Bei unserer Ankunft standen gekühlte Erfrischungsgetränke für uns im Kühlschrank bereit. Die Zimmer sind klimatisiert und mit allem ausgestattet, was das Herz begehrt. Ein WLAN Anschluss ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Man fühlt sich eher als Freund der Familie als bloß ein Hotelgast. Die Strände in der Nähe sind absolut traumhaft, und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind ebenfalls schnell und leicht erreichbar. Wir freuen uns auf jeden Fall auf ein Wiedersehen!

Bel endroit calme

Nous avons choisi le studio. Bel endroit calme avec vue sur la mer, logement propre et bien équipé. Très bon accueil des propriétaires . Plages , commerces et restaurants à proximité . Tout pour réussir de belles vacances. Nous recommandons ce lieu à nos connaissances et au plaisir d'y retourner nous mêmes .

Aussicht, Pool, Garten. Herrlich!

Wir vermissen jetzt schon den herrlichen Blick von der Terrasse auf die Grande Anse am Tag und die Sterne in der Nacht. Die Wohnung war genau wie beschrieben und es war alles da, was wir brauchten. Corinne und Raymond sind zauberhafte Gastgeber, die uns viele Infos gegeben haben. Wer in Ruhe ausspannen will, ist hier richtig.

Notre séjour du 28/04 au 11/05 chez Corinne et Raymond

Nous avons adoré nos vacances en Guadeloupe dans le gite Mangoplaya. L'environnement paradisiaque du jardin tropical côtoyant la forêt, une très belle vue sur la mer et les environs verdoyants à travers les fleurs et les feuilles des palmiers s’ouvrant de la terrasse du studio permettent une vraie détente. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme régnant dans le domaine (que les bruits de la jungle) et bien sur une superbe piscine au milieu du magnifique jardin de Corinne et Raymond d’où on admire en nageant les arbres, les fleurs et les petits oiseaux. Les superbes plages et les promenades côtières sont vraiment à coté. Il y a très peu de moustiques dans cet endroit ce qui permet de passer les soirées tranquilles sur la terrasse en mettant très peu ou pas d'InsectEcran. Corinne et Raymond sont très sympathiques, ils connaissent très bien Guadeloupe et sont toujours disponibles à répondre à vos questions. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les conseils de Raymond tout au long de notre séjour. Concernant l'équipement du studio, il correspond à la description. Les commerces et les restaurants sont en proximité. On trouve plusieurs restaurants sur la très belle plage de la Grande Anse (10 min à pieds) pour manger à midi, le soir c'est plutôt à Déshais qu'il faut aller (5 min en voitures). Il y a plein de visites et excursions à faire dans le rayon de 25 km , c'est très bien aussi pour les amateurs des fonds marins. Les vacances très réussies, on espérè y revenir un jour. Excellent!

Ray and Corrine will take good care of you, which helps when you know no French. We had a ton of questions, and they were more than patient. The view is beautiful, and the studio was outfitted with everything we needed for a convenient stay. Mattresses could use upgrading, but very comfortable otherwise! Nice pool and lounge area too!

Nous avons pris le studio 2 personnes. Une vue magnifique sur la mer, la plage a 5 min a pied, équipement du studio complet. Un accueil irréprochable de nos hôtes dans un cadre calme naturel parfait pour se reposer. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Fantastic location

We stayed in the studio and found it to be adequate for our needs which were simply somewhere to sleep. The other accomodation was empty while we were there and because the two apartments are very close together, we are not sure how it would have been if another family had been there. The location is fabulous and eating breakfast while drinking in the fantastic view down to the Caribbean is fantastic. You definitely need a car here because the property is at the top of quite a steep hill from the road and, although the beach is around 20 minutes walk away it would be hard work in the heat. There is a nice hotel half way up the hill which we used as a good watering hole after our evening meal. We went in low season and a number of the restaurants in Deshaises were closed but we enjoyed the food in the ones that were open. Guadeloupe is a fabulous holiday destination.

CALME & DEPAYSEMENT DANS UNE VERDURE TROPICALE

Location très bien à tous points de vue, comme annoncé dans l'offre, avec les sensations en plus ! Le studio est vraiment bien équipé, confortable, très bonne literie, propre, calme... Il est situé près de Deshaies, charmant petit port de pêche. Les plus : très calme, accès plage à pied en quelques minutes, bibliothèque, piscine, WI FI, restaurant à 2 pas (proposant petit déjeuner), plusieurs ballades à pied le long du bord de mer, au départ de la location. Le studio est situé en hauteur avec vue sur la mer : couchers de soleil magnifiques. Au milieu d'une végétation tropicale abondante, on a été complètement séduits mais aussi ravis par les visites et chants des oiseaux ! Merci aux propriétaires pour leur accueil très sympa (vive le rugby !) et convivial, agrémenté de plein de conseils utiles pour les aspects pratiques (commerces à proximité, restaurants...) et pour les aspects touristiques (conseils randonnées, visites à ne pas manquer, plages...) Point très important : Deshaies constitue une situation géographique sur l'île très "intéressante" : cette position offre une multitude de possibilités à proximité : ballade dans la Mangrove et le Grand cul de sac Marin, multitudes de randonnées, découvertes de chutes d'eau, nombreuses plages, visite de la ville de Basse Terre, départ vers les îles Saintes.... et la découverte sur Grande Terre, de la Pointe des Châteaux, ou La Pointe de La grande Vigie, peut très bien s'envisager sur une journée. Il est facile également depuis Deshaies, de rejoindre Le Gosier, St François ou Ste Anne. Le charme de la Guadeloupe a opéré, on a adoré , et nous sommes bien décidés à repartir, avec les enfants cette fois !

Incredible location and unbeatable hosts!!!!!

My boyfriend and I just spent three weeks traveling all over Guadeloupe and its outlying islands and this was BY FAR the best place we stayed! We stayed in the studio, which was the perfect size for the two of us, and you simply cannot beat the location--walking distance to the best beach and a slew of great little restaurants, and just a short drive to downtown. The kitchen is the perfect size and well equipped for making small meals at home, which is a great way to enjoy the amazing sunset right outside the front door, or by the pool surrounded by a gorgeous garden that Ray and Co maintain themselves. The bed is comfy, the a/c works great, and you can't beat the view from the window! If you like location, ocean views, and peace and quiet, this is the place for you! Not to mention, it was a relief to be with people who spoke English! But even better than the place itself are the hosts, Ray and Corinne. Without exaggerating, they are THE nicest and most generous people we've met yet in our travels. We ran into some transportation issues in Deshaies due to our own poor planning (ps, on the mainland a rental car is a MUST), and Ray and Corinne were beyond accommodating. Without their help and generosity, our time in Deshaies wouldn't have been the same. If you're staying in Deshaies, STAY HERE and tell Ray and Co we said hello!

Fuyez le studio : rapport qualité/prix déplorable

Nous n'avons jamais connu un tel logement, lors de nos 14 séjours aux Antilles. Le studio, en tant que location indépendante, ne mérite, selon nous, même pas une étoile. Les meubles et les rideaux sont dépareillés et de très bas de gamme, la peinture s’écaille, la tête de lit est simplement posée contre le mur, un tableau « décoratif » est fixé beaucoup trop bas, une serpillière fait office de tapis d’entrée, le plafonnier est plein de cadavres d’insectes, le matelas est couvert de taches. La terrasse n’a pas de parasol, (pourtant mentionné sur le contrat de location) et est donc inutilisable, car exposée au soleil dès le milieu de la matinée. Les meubles de jardin sont sales et l’éclairage extérieur est trop faible pour pouvoir manger dehors la nuit. L’étendage sale cède sous le poids de trois t-shirts mouillés, le four multifonction est cassé et ne fonctionne que comme micro-ondes. La température à l’intérieur du studio est tellement élevée, que nous devons fermer les volets toute la journée. La climatisation est gratuite jusqu’à 3kw/jour (et non 8kw/jour comme indiqué sur le contrat), au-delà on paie des frais supplémentaires. Le bac de douche est petit, les joints qui l’entourent sont couverts de moisissures, certains carreaux de la salle d’eau sont cassés ou tachés. La cuisine, sans hotte aspirante ni fenêtre, répand ses odeurs de cuisson sur les draps et les habits, si bien que nous avons renoncé à l’utiliser. Nous avons loué à plein tarif du 2 au 16 février, alors qu’un rabais de 25% était annoncé sur le site du 11 au 22 février. Selon le propriétaire, le rabais implique l’interdiction absolue d’utiliser la piscine en sa présence, mais il se garde bien de le spécifier sur le site, qui mentionne simplement des restrictions d’utilisation. Mais ce qui nous scandalise profondément est l’interdiction d’utiliser la piscine le week-end, (alors que le contrat stipule que la piscine est accessible la semaine de 9h à 19h, or la semaine a 7 jours…), car les propriétaires ne veulent pas de vacanciers à la piscine quand ils ont congé. Nous avons tout de même payé un loyer considérable pour un studio très bas de gamme, revendiqué logement 3 étoiles à l’ambiance cosy…par les propriétaires !! Nous regrettons amèrement notre choix : ici nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis les bienvenus.

Wunderbare Sonnenuntergänge

Das kleine Appartement entsprach genau der Beschreibung und war mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Sehr schön ist der Platz auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf die tropische Pflanzenwelt der Anlage und auf die Grande Anse, die fußläufig erreichbar ist. Zur Begrüßung waren Kaffee, Wasser und Rum vorhanden. Ray ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber, er war für uns immer ansprechbar und gab uns wertvolle Hinweise zur Urlaubsgestaltung. Wir hatten das Glück eine sehr nette französische Familie als Nachbarn in der zweiten Ferienwohnung von Ray zu haben. Wir haben die Ruhe sowie die Morgen- und Abendstimmung besonders genossen. Von daher können wir die Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

Séjour agréable

Un studio bien entretenu et propre, des propriétaires discrets et de bon conseil. Une bonne literie. Une petite terrasse fleurie face à la mer qui participe au charme du logement. Beaucoup de verdure alentour et une grande piscine à disposition de 9h à 19h du lundi au vendredi. Le studio gagnerait à éliminer quelques nuisances sonores: le frigo et la chasse d'eau un peu bruyants ou le lave-linge la nuit. Nous aurions apprécié un grill-pain, une bouilloire, et un sèche cheveux... Malgré ces quelques détails l'endroit est charmant et à recommander vivement.

A recommander absolument!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nous venons de passer 10 jours dans le studio du gite mangoplaya, idéalement placé dans un carré de verdure a 2km du village de Deshaies lui aussi superbe. Piscine superbe dispo en semaine. Vous vous sentirez en sécurité dans ce gite, les propriétaires offrent un bon panache de bons conseils et restent très discrets en étant très sympathique. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Un gite d'exception

Ce gite est sans doute l 'un des plus merveilleux de l 'ile, son confort est impeccable et son charme tropical inoubliable. L 'accueil est discret et efficace et l 'environnement d'une beauté saisissante. La mer est à deux pas, tout comme le superbe village de Deshaies , quant à la piscine, c'est un délice...de nombreuses balades sont possibles dans les environs. A ne surtout pas louper..!!.

Acceuil chaleureux!

Nous avons eu le plaisir de séjourner au studio Mangoplaya du 20 au 27 janvier 2014. Le gîte est très bien situé et la vue est magnifique, il est cependant très exposé en après-midi. Le jardin attenant à la piscine est splendide. Cette location offre une qualité/prix très compétitive. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'acceuil chaleureux des propriétaires Corinne et Raymond.
