Great location/neighborhood. Very comfortable for two families (4 adults, 4 kids ages 3-8). Wonderful layout. Backyard great for kids to run around. Host has a binder of recommendations for the area for those unfamiliar. Playground close by. Quiet neighborhood to walk around. Path around the pond that's close by.

Great location to Boyne
Great location to the ski lodge. My only complaint would be it was 55 degrees when we checked in, thought maybe they should have had the heat on.
Great communication. Check in and out was smooth. The neighborhood was quiet, clean and safe. It was close to all activities we took part in and I would definitely recommend this property to everyone.
The house was as stated. We were visiting my son who lived in the neighborhood, so we spent most time at his home. We did not do any cooking ect there. The kitchen smelled like mold mainly from the sink area. The heat register in the first floor bath was broken and a kid could easily step right in it.and get injured. We found a pair of underware under the bed.The remote had no batteries. We would stay there again but would make sure the above concerns were addressed
Clean bathrooms, comfy beds and we enjoyed the shuffleboard table. Washer was musty /moldy from being closed for a time prior to our arrival and Brad was attentive to our concern. Had it been left open, it would not have been an issue. Nice neighborhood and lovely deck on the home.
We enjoyed the location and surrounding area very much. The trail around the lake was wonderful.
Comfy beds, but no closet access to hang clothes except for one bedroom. No hooks to hang towels.
Great variety of kitchen gadgets. Comfortable kitchen.
Living room seating limited and the rug was a tripping hazard. We put a pillow there so as to not trip.
No cushions for outdoor seating made it uncomfortable to sit outside.
The house needs a bit of updating, but was pretty clean overall.
Clean and everything worked well. But outside of house needs care and when entering the front stairs need painting and a small hole in the wall needs repair. Lors of sticking doors. Would be a solid 4 stars, but first impression issues are a concern.

Woodlake house
Great neighborhood. Nice house. Loved the kitchen and lots of cooking supplies. House needs some more attention. All outlets in master bathroom and ceiling fan in master bedroom didn’t work. Told host who said they’d look into it but nothing ever fixed. Small details like fixing torn window treatments and replacing stained carpets need to be addressed
I really enjoyed my at the property. My sister was able to work the two days she was out there as well, since there was free Wi-Fi provided. I will look forward to being able to stay here again sometime soon. And hopefully I'm able to take advantage of the itinerary that was laid out because unfortunately the thing never loaded up for me. But outside of that everything else was amazing.
We'd like to request a refund based on problems that included health concerns. Here's the note I sent to Brad Brown, the host:
"Brad, I'll send more pictures in a bit, but here's the list of things you might want to address before the next tenant moves in:
--Carpets were dirty, with stains on the carpets, especially in the bedroom at the top of the stairs, to the left...the one that faces the backyard. Also stains on the master bedroom carpet.
--Not enough soap bars for three bathrooms. I had to use hand soap in the second shower, so we had a soap bar for the bottom bathroom. No body wash.
--Ants in the downstairs bathroom and on dining room table. No bug spray in the house, so I wiped up the ants.
--Cockroach ran under the washer.
--Burned out light bulb in the dining area and over a sink in the master bathroom
--Screen door in back has two large holes and doesn't close easily.
--No screen door on the front or back doors that lock.
--The vacuum cleaner container was half full, so I emptied. I tried vacuuming, but there was a strong dusty smell coming from it.
--No broom that I could find.
--We had to wipe down the kitchen counters, as they were dirty.
--I couldn't figure out how to set the timer for the coffee maker. When I pressed on the button for automatic turn-on in the morning, it kept flashing, then turning off.
--Toilet in master bedroom was dirty
--Dust bunnies in the corner of the master bedroom
--Blood stains on the mattress cover in the bedroom where I slept, and where bug bites may have occurred. I'm not sure whether I have bed bug bites, but there are many and on parts of my body that were covered when I was outside. There were also blood stains on the mattress cover in the master bedroom, but my wife didn't get any bites while sleeping there. I slept in the master bedroom part of the time.
--No handle on the microwave oven door.

We have two main criteria for selecting a VRBO property--a safe and quiet neighborhood. This property met both of those expectations. Communication with the owner was excellent. He even emailed us during our stay to make sure everything was going well. We always appreciate suggestions of places to eat. We were able to go to several of the recommended restaurants which made our trip more enjoyable. Would recommend this property especially for families.
Place was great. Had all of the little things so we didn't need to go shopping (e.g. salt and pepper, coffee, etc.). Smart TV was nice for Netflix watching. Rooms were good and the water pressure in the showers was solid. Nice neighborhood, too.
I did not plan to leave a bad review. I sent a message to the manager to go over my concerns but heard nothing back. I assume that means the repairs will not be addressed so I thought I should warn future renters.
The electrical outlets do not work in the upstairs bathrooms. The curtain is missing from the master bedroom closet which means the whole neighborhood can see you. The pull chain is broken on the fan in the master and it never got cool in there. On top of that, the cleaning crew put the mattress protector on upside down so I slept on plastic and sweated all night. I didn't find the error until removing the sheets upon check out. There was also really long black hair all in the shower that were super noticeable.
The neighborhood was great and the house could be super awesome if a few things were fixed.
Brad was a great host. He responded quickly to any of my messages. The house is beautiful and is in a very nice neighborhood.

Not what we expected
We consider ourselves (mid-70's) seasoned VRBO users so when we made this big decision to rent for 5 weeks to get out of a cold NH winter for NC we looked carefully at homes in the Durham area - somehow I surely missed a lot from the photos. The location is outstanding, the owner is quickly responsive but frankly didn't have things ready for a 5 week stay. Carpets were dirty/spotted and though a new vacuum its suction was weak. It says it sleeps 8, with 3 bedrooms. Master BR king bed was OK but bathrm. very small. Linens were thin but we brought our own. Kitchen poorly equipped to cook for a group but owner brought over things readily - broken dryer, brought in another with rust spots; living rm. furniture was 2 shabby couches, no other chairs; kitchen table had only 3 chairs; no bureaus/chests of drawers for clothes nor any chairs in the bedrooms for reading let alone no reading lights......the house has great potential to be decorated in a welcoming and homey manner. Perhaps it is best rented for only very short term uses.
I visited my children and grandkids in the Triangle area for a week, and was fortunate to be able to rent this house for that time. House is in a safe and quiet neighborhood, has space for entertaining, a nice outdoor deck and back yard. Brad, the owner, was extraordinarily easy to communicate with, and promptly replied to any questions or concerns I had. He has great pride in his home and it's features. I definitely hope to rent this place again, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an ideal home to rent.
We needed a house to stay for a week near family and this house was perfect. The house was exactly how they listed it and the yard was nice to have! There was plenty of room for us two.
