Great private retreat

We stayed 2 nights, had a wonderful time. Room was clean, had a ton of fresh towels to use for private the sauna and hot tub. The host Dave whom we had contact with throughout our stay was awesome. We had a couple questions and he answered right away, even looked up taxi services for us and gave us their numbers. Got two $20 gift certificates for breakfast, we went to Rico’s and it was good. Would reccomend!

A quiet secluded getaway

We enjoyed stayed at Dave and Melanie’s place. It is a quiet area and the lake is beautiful. We loved using the kayaks and enjoying beautiful sunsets. The location overall is pretty secluded. We spent most of our time in Traverse City which is about a 20 minute drive. Check-in and check-out was simple. Overall, a nice stay for two people. Thanks!

A weekend in the heavens of Michigan

We stayed in the Bay Chalet Suite, and it was phenomenal, truly as good as it gets! Perfect location on the lake, short drive to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and several of the other port cities on the north west side of the state as well. Dave was an incredible host and went above and beyond to ensure things went perfectly! I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for the best that Michigan has to offer, you will not be disappointed. A truly spectacular place with all the peace, quiet, and nature you could ask for, we will be back again!

A Weekend of Respite

Our 91 year old mother lives with us and this is just what we needed for a weekend of respite as we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Very peaceful and relaxing. Best part was the indoor hot tub and canoeing for hours exploring the lake. Owner was great! Very grateful we find this place.

A quiet place to get away.

Exactly as described. We were able to take out the kayaks and boats onto the lake. The lake water is very shallow in many areas and you'll need to take care and watch for logs. We were at times the only people on the lake and it was very peaceful. The location was convenient for local restaurants and Moomers ice cream about 10 minutes away.

Great Stay!

Was greeted by the owner upon arrival, and was instructed on everything from operating the sauna to trails around the lake. Beautiful views, very quiet, and perfect for relaxing. I would suggest a night or two at this bed and breakfast.

Winter Getaway

We had a wonderful time relaxing at this amazing location in the cold months of Michigan. The property, hot tub, and sauna were well maintained. Great location if you are looking to drive to the coast or Traverse City. Looking forward to possibly coming back in summer months to use kayaks on the lake right behind the lodge.

Great getaway

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub every day! The bed was extremely comfortable. Three things to note that we didn't realize until arriving. The hot tub that is outside is directly in front of the owners living room; it'd be pretty awkward to hang out in the hot tub while the owners are relaxing watching TV. We just used the hot tub in our suite and that was perfectly fine! Also, this suite is directly above the owners property. Once inside you hardly notice anyone else is around but anytime you walk to the water; you'll likely see the owners in their living room. It wasn't as private as we were looking for but we loved the amenities and the location so you really can't beat it. If you choose to eat and drink in the suite be sure to bring plastic cups (for the hot tub) and maybe some plastic plates and cutlery. When we stayed there were 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 knifes, 2 spoons, 2 coffee cups, 2 tall plastic cups and 2 margarita cups. We were constantly washing dishes since there were only 2 of each item. The owners were really great hosts so I hope this review just helps you prepare better for your stay!

Great getaway

Very nice place. Loved the sauna, the lake, the peace and quiet! Great place to kick back and relax. A short drive to Traverse City and other area attractions made this an ideal location to get away from the crowd but close enough to enjoy the amenities of the Traverse area. Highly recommended!

Excellent getaway

Depending on what you are looking for- this is a great option for spouses and even a girlfriend getaway—- the property was exactly as posted- quaint, quiet, and a relaxation haven- we enjoyed the sauna and hottub! Keep in mind that there is minimal places that deliver here BUT plenty of options that are close in proximity to go out to or pick up! Would highly recommend—! Must do: sign up for a wine tour- with a guide it was great as he knew of the popular spots or even the under-rated gems- if we did ourself- would been too overwhelming and not as relaxing. Also— take a trip to sleeping bear dunes- well worth the short drive- and plan on having lunch on a restaurant patio in the awesome little town of Glen Harbor. If your visiting in the summer- plan a separate day on the beach in glen haven beach- amazing!! Water as clear and blue as the carribean. Pack a picnic lunch and a cooler , bring a float, towel and umbrella and you will have a great time on this lovely beach. Other options include some awesome areas to hike And bike trails everywhere.

Clean & felt very private

Great views, the hot tub and sauna both ran well. It is a Bed and Breakfast, they were booked but we didn’t run into very many people. We wanted something private with a cabin feel and that’s what this was.
