The Josephine House
This hidden gem is a 10 min. picturesque walk to the Oxford Square. Its convenient location is in the South Lamar Historic District. Book your stay at Josephine House and enjoy living like a local.

The Josephine House is a fully restored, 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. The single story home features a spacious private rear deck and 1200 sq. feet of living space. The home offers an open living area with floor to ceiling windows, old ceiling beams and ship lap walls. The main living area has comfy seating for 6, 55 inch smart tv and original art.

The kitchen is a pleasure to work in with its spacious island with seating for 4, marble counter tops, and full size stainless appliances. It is equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (coffee provided), a nice selection of pots and pans, dinnerware, and eating utensils. A full size washer and dryer are located in the adjoining laundry room.

Each bedroom includes a king size bed, white bedding, 50 inch flat screen TV, and closet space.

Adjoining the master bedroom is a tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower. A second bath just off the main hallway, has a full size tub/shower. The 2nd bedroom is entered off of the main hallway and also has a private entry into the 2nd bath as well. Guests are provided with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hairdryer.

The Josephine House has off street, monitored parking for 3 vehicles that are marked with Josephine House signage. This property shares a parking court with its 3 bedroom sister property The John Marie House VRBO #1189883.

We loved our stay for 4 at the Josephine. It is beautifully decorated, cozy, and spacious with all the travel amenities you need. It is tucked away from the street with an inviting wraparound deck. Its an easy 6-min walk to the square. We will definitely book the Josephine for our next visit to Ole Miss!

My mother and I stayed here for a week to celebrate her 80th birthday - what a delightful cottage! Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, within walking distance to the Square, this cottage was the highlight of our trip. The deck is perfect for morning coffee! Charming cottage within walking distance to the Oxford Square

This cottage will not disappoint and is decorated beautifully. The Oxford square is a short walking distance. The hosts are communicative and prompt with any questions. The back deck is a wonderful place to relax with coffee in the morning or drinks in the afternoon.

This house exceeded our expectations in every way! No detail has been overlooked in the home and it's equally stunning and comfortable. The photos don’t do it justice. We could have not left the house during our stay and still had a great time. The location is ideal ! We loved being able to walk to the Square, shop and eat a delicious meal. However, our favorite meal was being able to prepared it in our own spacious kitchen and eating it on the amazing back deck. Our new Happy Place!! We WILL be back!!

I have been wanting to stay at the Josephine House for three years now....it is so lovely. Very well use of space....a great deck around the cottage, plenty of parking and easy to rent. MY ONLY constructive criticism is that the kitchen is in desperate need for "appointment" that match the quality of the house in general. By that, I mean.....platters, serving pieces, more than four steak knives, REAL GLASS wine glasses.... as beautiful as this kitchen is, we had to go buy wine glasses as we didn't want to drink our delicious vintage out of plastic. Might seem like nothing to some....we wanted to cook a great meal in the amazing kitchen but found it underwhelming. Get that updated and you will be forever on our list of places to rent!!!!

Per our check-in email and our welcome letter we specifically ask that you please let us know if there is anything you need during your stay. We are only a quick text or phone call away and wished you had reached out. Wine glasses - after receiving multiple calls from anxious guests stressed over accidentally breaking our glass stemware, we decided to stock the house with acrylic wine glasses. Life is too short to stress over broken glass. We hope you enjoyed using the Williams Sonoma dinnerware, drink ware and coffee cups. The kitchen has a complete set of stainless cookware, cookie sheets, casseroles, cutting boards, can opener, wine opener, spatulas, and other necessary supplies. We hope you got a chance to enjoy the Keurig/drip coffee maker with complimentary coffee bar set ups. Like a Breath of Fresh Air!

From the moment we walked in to the time we left was a relaxing experience. Everything we needed was provided. Even though we were just a minute from the square it felt so secluded, we felt as if we could have been in the mountains. Our time there was like a breath of fresh air. The light colors were so calming & provided a cozy feel. The beds are first rate; the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I love that they have acrylic glasses as I have, unfortunately, broken glasses before. My friends enjoyed the other glass wine glasses. (able to hold their wine a little better than me:). The kitchen was better equipped than my home. Working towards having your guests feel welcome in your home from the moment they arrive is the key to repeat customers and referrals & this is how we felt. The host was very accommodating & we appreciated the prompt responses to questions. We have planned our next visit & will be staying in the sister property; The John-Marie. This lovely house will be our home away from home going forward.
