A luxury single storey villa with a private pool, set in a beautifully landscaped mature gardens enclosed with high walls, very private and tranquil and bordered by olive groves. Has wonderful views of the sea and the mountains. It is available for holiday letting, will consider longer lets particularly out of the main season. Villa Francesca is very well equipped. It has its own gated parking area and a fully fitted, tiled swimming pool. Choose a lazy day by the pool with stunning views of the beautiful surrounding countryside or experience some of Crete's amazing history. Lay on one of the longest sandy beaches in the Mediterranean and swim in the crystal-clear waters. Go shopping in the ancient town of Rethymnon with its historical harbour and fortezza. Eat at one of the many restaurants (the fish dishes are freshly prepared and delightful!). However long you stay, you will always find so much to do. The villa has two large double bedrooms with aircon. Both bedrooms also have dressing tables, mirrors, bedside cabinets and fully fitted wardrobes. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including a large American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The lounge has a three and two seater sofa, internet TV, Music DVD/ Hi-Fi system and a ceiling fan. Outside Villa Francesca there is a large patio table and six chairs on the terrace. Five sunbeds and large parasol around the large tiled private pool. Mature gardens with private parking. There is also a roof terrace. Lovely views of both the mountains and the sea from all areas of the villa and gardens. Lots of great places to visit: The Samaria Gorge, the longest in Europe, Agia Galina, Panormo, Episkopi, Arkadi, Chania and the waterparks. The list is endless. The villa has great WIFI at 23mbps inside and outside the villa and a barbeque.

Villa Francesca

Directions to the villa were ok, but it would help if it was signposted like other villas, that would be a great help Upon arrival, the bin was very dirty, we bleached it 3 times. My wife advised me not to view the toilet brush as it was disgusting. There were cobwebs around the TV which hadn't been cleaned for quite some time, also cobwebs in the cupboards. The garden was overgrown. I could not hang shirts in the wardrobe as there was a pile of damp bedding on top of the spare quilts that were in the wardrobe and I was not hanging shirts in there. The tray for the oven was filthy, rusty and looked as if it had seen better days......I will say the villa would be ideal if the cleaning / gardening team were not so comfortable with the arrangements with the owner and applied their trade in the right way

Stephen was provided with GPS co-ordinates before he stayed at the property and was provided with detailed and full directions from the signage of villas very close to villa Francesca. The villa was cleaned by the same team who cleaned my other villa advertised on this site and which sleeps 8-10. It has had all 5* reviews this year and the other reservations that have been completed on this villa have had 4* reviews. If Stephen had contacted me at the start of their stay on VBRO and there had been any cleanliness issues I would have ensured they would have all been rectified immediately. Unfortunately I was unaware of any issues until his stay had been completed. Our gardener has meticulously looked after the gardens and pools for both properties since 2016 and the gardens are amazing. I want all my guests to have a wonderful time and have very high standards for the villas.

Belle villa avec superbe vue

Très chouette séjour, villa agréable et confortable, vue impressionnante de la terrasse. Piscine propre et rafraîchissante. Bon emplacement pour visiter le centre de la Crête, très près de Rethymnon. On y retournerait avec plaisir.

Calme, emplacement idéal

Séjour au calme avec vue fantastique , maison isolée mais proche de toutes les commodités et voies rapides à 5 km . Jardin agréable, intime, piscine bien orientée, terrasse couverte avec vue sur la vallée....location idéale, propre, bien agencée, pour qui aime le calme mais désire également découvrir la Crete de l'arriere pays . Ne pas hésiter à emprunter les petites routes de montagne, il ya tant de choses à voir . Cote sud accessible facilement également . Proprétaires facilement joignables par mail, aimables et de bons conseils ! Séjour parfait, mais trop court ... à refaire .

Villa with a breathtaking view

Villa Francesca is not the easiest to find but the journey in rural Crete and up in very steep zig zag drive is well worth the effort! The villa benefits from full sunshine from early morning until sunset, outdoor dining is possible in multiple locations around the villa. The pool is of a good size and benefits from sunshine most of the day, the nearest shops and tavernas are a short drive of around two to three kilometres. Lidl and many more tavernas are located around four to five kilometres away, in summary this is a well located and appointed villa, perfect for a relaxing break in Crete.

Fantastic, remote Cretan Villa

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Francesca. Very pretty and private but still just 5 min drive to the local supermarket. The gardens and pool were lovely and the villa had everything we needed. The view from the roof over the hills to the sea was beautiful. Air con in the bedrooms was very effective which was great in order to get a good night's sleep as it's so hot in July and August! We enjoyed many nights on the veranda listening to the cicadas. Perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all, and don't mind driving to local amenities and up some very steep hills! We found some great restaurants nearby away from the hustle of tourist areas which were wonderfully traditional. Lisa was really responsive and checking in was easy and fuss free. It was like having our own little private home in Crete. Perfect place.

La piscine est très appréciable et agréable. L'environnement est calme ce qui permet de se reposer. De nombreux sites touristiques alentour et de jolies plages à 30 minutes en voiture. Pour ceux qui aiment cuisiner il manque toutefois des ustensiles de cuisine, des plats.... Mais la cuisine est très fonctionnelle. Petit soucis avec le Wi-Fi mais qui devrait être réparé. Les propriétaires sont agréables et font u efforts pour parler le français.

Gorgeous, peaceful villa with great views and secluded pool

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Villa Francesca and already can’t wait to return.The villa is clean and spacious with welcome air-conditioning in the bedrooms and a lovely balcony with great views from the main bedroom. You can go up to the roof for even better views towards the sea and the mountains inland, while the covered terrace is a lovely, shady place to eat. The best part is the swimming pool area, which is totally private and feels quite luxurious – gorgeous. In July, we could barely hear any noise from other villas at all, as this one has quite a bit of its own space around it. The short track/road up to the villa is steep and twisty and we were a bit concerned about driving in our underpowered Fiat Panda, but we soon get the hang of it. We found it a great base to explore this part of the island, with plenty to do and a wide choice of restaurants within a short drive. Rethymno is great but we also enjoyed exploring some of the mountain villages and tavernas as the landscape is specatacular. We would highly recommend it.
