My story is a lot longer than Stevens! Every time I try to write a response to this review, it disappears! I will try again! Not only was I home, I had plans and chose to stay home with a friend to welcome Stephen and his wife! The cars were in the driveway, all the Christmas lights were on, the cottage was left open as I told Steven in the afternoon when he called me! I didn’t worry about them being late because they were going out to dinner with their daughter, it makes sense they weren’t there. I was about to go to bed at around 10 and got a text message from them saying they had tried to enter my property twice , but no one answered the doorbell! My doorbell doesn’t work my dogs do ! My dogs bark so loud when anyone knocks on the door, Stephen why didn’t you knock on the door, you knew you were invited? You knew the cottage was open, I had champagne chilling for you as it was close to New Year’s Eve, I had chocolates on your bed, and although you said you were bringing a cooler full of food, I still put special snacks in the refrigerator for you and your wife. So I was quite alarmed when I I called you immediately, your phone went straight to messages, I thought you show up the next day , I tried talking to you. I have text saying it’s ready for you. You had found other lodgings, not due to me! I have proof I was home. I would never turn away a guest! The only thing Steven says is correct is working with verbal on this is like Groundhog Day! When Steven made it clear, he was not going to stay here. I called Verbo and asked if I should cancel, so I could get somebody else in here so it wouldn’t be a total loss. They said no don’t cancel them. They said I would get paid anyway, I got paid. That was January 2nd. I never reviewed them because I didn’t want to harm them. Five months later May 6 I get a message from Verbo that they refunded Steven and he’s allowed to leave a nasty review about me! Verbo has been taking money from my new guests just confiscating my money! Stephen got a full refund, all this without my knowledge. Until May 6, yes, it’s been a Groundhog Day ridiculous experience! Please read my other reviews, whatever happened, happened, it had nothing to do with me! Again, Stephen and I spoke during the afternoon and I told him the cottage was open! Why come back Five months later and complain? Verbo acts kind to me on the phone, and then sends me a AI iMessage that they’re sticking with their refund policy. They say I should have had written instructions 24 hours in advance on my listing. My lawyer says never do that, he said it was not safe for me to do that. I’ve never given instructions 24 hours in advance that are written. I text them. I stay home, I make sure they are welcomed into my cottage! For 4 1/2 years I’ve done business like this, I’ve never had a complaint! So now we’re six months later , and I am paying for guests that did not show up, that is illegal. It is called, the contract of adhesion, if it’s in the small print and it benefits the large company, Verbo, And hurts the smaller person, me, and clearly since it’s never ever been in my rules, due to my lawyer saying it’s not safe, the contractions would side with me. Verbo, I would like you to do right by me. And please explain to me how six months later this man can accuse me of not being home. I would love to see his evidence. I have tons of evidence, not only was a home, but the cottage was darling and cute! Hurts my feelings greatly, I pray this doesn’t deter other people from having a wonderful experience at my cottage! Verbo do what’s right and give me back my money, please! 2.

Lauren, I am so sorry you felt that way. Sincerely wanted your B-day to be special. Cake, balloons, Champagne, Charcuterie tray, and all were all done to increase your Celebration. I have never had a guest presume the pool was private, it is in the description shared out door space and pool, I live here. Even so I did ask you about the pool. I asked you Friday evening, it is in VRBO chat, about a previous event I had planned on Sunday, I gave you the hours and all, it was a total of 6 hour, out of a 4 day stay. I said we could change locations and have it somewhere else if you like, because you're the B-Day Girl, you said it was fine with you. I heated the pool, at extra cost to me for you, because of your kindness. I did that so you and your daughter could swim at night. Then Sunday 15 minutes before my friends arrive, you told me to cancel it. I said it is too late, I am disheartened that you changed your mind. Again, I only wish the best for you and your daughter.
