Even better than the listing!
Our multigenerational family had a great vacation at Lou’s rental. So nice to have beach chairs, bikes, umbrellas and beach toys included. More bedrooms than we could use and lots of areas to spread out. The location is ideal- easy block and a half to the beach and easy few blocks from The Avenue. A/C worked well and most of the beds were comfortable.
My only suggestion is about the 4 kitchens. The main kitchen is well stocked but extremely disorganized. Maybe too much stuff? The three small kitchens need complete sets of dishes and pots etc to prevent having to go to big kitchen to find missing items.
All in all we had a great week and will plan to stay again when we return. Thank you Lou!
Thanks Renee ... look forward to your return .....
I've tried in the past to keep the kitchen equipment/dishes/etc separated into their respective units but gave up trying. I'm open for any suggestions for me to accomplish this... :)
We had a Thanksgiving family reunion and this home was perfect for all of us, kids and grown ups alike. We walked to the beach and boardwalk and were close to the famous outlets.
A great place for a good sized gathering of friends.
Have rented this place twice now to get together with a bunch of college friends for a long weekend. Convenient, reasonably priced and big.
Enjoyed stay, did not like post-booking disclosure that we had to bring our own sheets
This is a great property: close to the beach, lots of rooms, and multiple kitchens. However, I was unhappy that the the manager of this property asked us to bring our own sheets without disclosing this issue in the original listing. Although the listing did not disclose that we would have to bring our own sheets, Lou told us just over a week before we arrived to bring our own sheets. Lou apologized but said by email "I’ve been renting house for 20 years and always assumed people understood that weekly house rentals do not supply sheets never had issue before." I found this response both patronizing and very, very hard to to believe. Maybe bringing your own sheets is common in Rehoboth but I and the 20+ other people in my group thought this was unheard of and should have been disclosed before we booked the rental. Since this issue was not disclosed in the original listing, the right thing to do would be for Lou take responsibility for his mistake and either provide sheets or give us some of our money back.
Lots of space for sleeping, great location
We found this house while looking for a place to accommodate 24+ people over New Year's weekend. This house was affordable, and offered more than enough room. With four kitchens in four distinct living areas (including the carriage house), we had plenty of sleeping room and space to prepare meals. We had enough bathrooms, too.
The house is in a location that is convenient to the beach and shopping - we walked to both. I imagine the beach would be a less convenient in the summer, as you'd need to slog all your beach gear a few blocks, but since we weren't staying on the beach it was perfect.
Two drawbacks - one big and one small. First the big one: there's not much common space in the house. The living/sitting rooms are small. When the weather is fair, the back patio is more than ample for a house full of guests, but otherwise you'd better like the people you're with. Secondly, the house is older and as suc
Our owner/host was friendly and responsive. I'm glad for his clear and timely communication.
All-in-all a very good experience.
