About this property
Murphy's Cabin Retreat @ Apex Penticton
This 2500 square foot open concept spacious cabin is located a short walk from the village. The set up has all the comforts of home with a huge flat backyard for a little snowshoe or a great snowball fight. The cabin originally built in the 70's was renovated to update 15 years ago and is still such a beautiful space to make memories. The logs/pillars we fell and peeled...the stairs were planed and made for the cabin...the spindles on the stair railing were made by a local craftsman. The front 20x12 is the original 'A' frame. This lovely well lit space is truly a place to get away and go on an adventure!

Cozy, spacious (6 adults 2 children) clean, well stocked (spices, good knives etc). Host always got back to us quickly when we had questions. Highly recommend.
This property was exactly as advertised. Great space, amenities, location and check-in process. This was perfect for our family of 10 and it was great that we could bring our dog. The little cation to the ski hill was perfect and it was a gorgeous setting to relax.
This is our second stay at Murphy’s and we love it. Our family of 8 (plus canine companion) had a wonderful stay. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. We love the hot tub, the wood stove, the location and walkability. Looking forward to returning!
We do an annual winter getaway and Murphy’s was our best to date. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 kids. Dog friendly is a huge plus. We loved the hot tub and big backyard. Host communication was good and we had no issues. Definitely would stay again.
Murphy's had everything you need. Very spacious and perfect for kids, families, and pets. Great TV's, games, lovely backyard and deck with barbecue came in very handy. I wish there were some pots that were just stainless steel and not Teflon, but the crock pot came in handy for stews and soups. We would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic week away. Great space for two families. 15 min walk through forest to the village. Big kitchen and dining area for 8. Hot tub was a plus after a day on the hill! Great yard for kids to play in the snow!
The cabin was nice and cool when we arrived, clean and tidy. Lots of towels provided. Lots of space for activity and meals.
Would recommend for folks wanting to stay around the area for most of the time. About 45 mins to Penticton.
Only negative was the hot tub, we used it one night then the second night it stopped working.
Beautiful place, we had a great time!!
Our family rented this cabin over Christmas and can confidently say that it lived up to all of our expectations. The cabin was clean and well-prepared with signs providing directions on how to use electronics and plenty of wood for the stove. The property manager was super responsive to any questions and went above and beyond to have a Christmas tree and decorations set up within the cabin.
I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone and would absolutely stay there again in the future.
We enjoyed our stay up at the cabin - it's a nice space in beautiful surroundings!
It was a great getaway for a ski vacation up at Apex.
The only real challenge was that we discovered that the bottom element of the oven was broken when we arrived, which made meals more of a challenge. If you need the oven, make sure to contact the owners to check that it has been fixed. Otherwise, the place was great!
Accurately described. Spacious cabin with lots of natural light. All useful amenities included. Great BBQ. Nice neighbours. Close to village. Quiet. Amazing dark sky at night. Communication with Owners was extremely easy throughout our stay. Would stay there again. Beautiful setting in summer. Assume it is just as awesome in winter.
Just spent an awesome 4 nights in Murthy’s cabin with in-laws and kids and loved it. Lots of room for everyone. Kitchen has everything you need. Quick communication with the owner when we needed propane for the bbq-Stephen took great care of us. Hot tub was amazing after long days of skiing and the snow gods were smiling on us as we woke up to 15-20cm of fresh pow every day we were there! Love the wood fireplace, big mud room to dry out all of our gear, and the big yard for our pup to frolic in the snow. Can’t wait to go back.
This house was absolutely perfect for our family reunion to celebrate Mom's birthday. There were 10 of us plus our dog and it was even better as pictured in the photos. Super clean and equipped with everything you need. Just like being at home! Perfect instructions for any questions you might have and Stephen was quick to reply whenever we had questions. Hot tub was a huge bonus too!! Thanks for the amazing accommodations Stephen... great family memories were made. 🙂
The cabin is great. Lots of space. Easy check-in. I would absolutely recommend it EXCEPT we had a pretty disappointing checkout process.
Due to covid there are different instructions for checking out than what's currently listed on the app for this property. The covid cleaning instructions are on the oven and I skimmed them when I first arrived but when checkout time came I assumed they were the same on the app and went by those instructions. We forgot to take the bedsheets off the bed, the dishes were clean but hadn't been put away, and the blinds behind the sink had gotten tangled but we felt it was best not to mess with it further.
After we left, I received very unprofessional messages from the property manager blaming us for absolutely everything that had ever happened to the place as well as saying things like "your parents would be disappointed in you" like we were children.
In the end, we paid for additional cleaning which is fair because we made a mistake, but making those comments above was totally unprofessional and disappointing. So if a friend asked whether they should stay here I'd say ...maybe?
The space was exactly as listed; fit all of our friends, and had the perfect amenities! Patti was clear with communication, and quick to congratulate us on our engagement.
The drive up to her space was absolutely beautiful! Thank you for a perfect weekend.
