Christmas in paradise
We loved the property. The hot tub tiki hut was awesome especially since we visited during rainy season. We rented the main unit along with the upstairs unit which was perfect for my parents who were traveling with us. Under an hour from the airport and in close proximity to all the North Shore has to offer.
This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was amazing. We absolutely loved the North Shore and our “Beach House in Paradise”. Thanks to Jessica and Shawn for providing such an amazing place to stay. Our family of 8 fit perfectly. The extra amenities was an added bonus. We LOVED everything about it. ❤️❤️
Beach house in Paradise
Place was clean. However it is desperate need of repairs. There is a serious problem with mice requiring us to set traps. Only AC is in bedrooms..rest of unit was HOT. We only used stove in the early morning as without AC it got way to warm in the unit with stove added. Washing machine is rusted out...the fire danger is high. Views and beach are wonderful as was outdoor patio area, though the wooden furniture is I. Need of replacement.
We have stayed in Hauula before & knew we wanted to return to the area. Thought our first oceanfront home was wonderful, but this house blew the first one out of the water. Spent 85% of our time on the Lanai. Hot tub was awesome & you basically have your own beach just steps from the home. Plenty of beach chairs & toys. Outdoor shower was a bonus. Ample seating & more than enough room for our family of 9 with both units. Cooked breakfast every morning & a couple of dinners. Several local eats just a short car ride away. Best pho on the island served from a food truck just 5 minutes down the road.
If they will have us, we will be returning! Mahalo!
Hau'ula and the surrounding area is often likened to 'old Hawaii,' still representing what Hawaii once was. Instead of large malls and chain restaurants (i.e. Waikiki), the area has family-owned gift shops, unique little restaurants, and a pace of life that many envision when planning their Hawaii trips. Highlights of the area: (1) five minute drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii's #1 tourist attraction (2) many great hikes (some with waterfalls) in the mountains seen in our aerial pictures (3) lush green foliage and mountainsides, drawing comparisons with Maui (4) good, local people offering a glimpse into 'true' Hawaii living: a truly authentic Hawaiian experience (5) twelve minute drive to Turtle Bay Resort, and their golf courses, restaurants, bars, massages, helicopter rides, etc. (6) minutes to good surfing spots, and only about 20 minutes to famous big-wave spots like Pipeline and Sunset Beach (7) quiet, tranquil, peaceful...the best way to describe Hau'ula!
