This property was exactly as described. The owner was very easy to work with. Unfortunately, we did not get to use the fire pit as it was rainy and cold. I would 100% stay here again.
Only negative feedback is the master bedroom mattress is really lumpy and very soft. Hard time sleeping. Other bedrooms are good. Rest of house is great!
I have rented from VRBO for many years now and there have only been two locations that have been immaculately clean and this was one of them. Besides clean, the house was very comfortable with the exception of noise. There were only three of us in the house with my husband and I being early risers and my daughter sleeping in. Each morning she would tell us that she was awake and by us opening the sliding door to go out on the deck. Well this was not a big deal for a house with only three people in it. If we would have had more of the family come along I think it might have been a concern. The outside area again was a fabulous place to relax. A second floor deck with comfortable seating , a hammock off to the side, a pier to fish from and a fire pit on the beach area to relax and enjoy the morning coffee or late night. S'mores. Thank you to our host who was more attentive than any host has ever been. Stopping by on his boat while my husband was fishing to ensure everything was good with the house, open communication via text for any of our questions, and meeting us at the house after to pay my daughter her winnings from the slot machines. Which by the way it was a big surprise that they paid out actual cash. Who knows how much we put in! LOL. But I really didn't matter. She had a great time..
The house was in tip top shape. The property had great views and all the amenities you could want. We used the fire pit every evening, as well as the crab trap and swimming off the dock
Just completed a week stay at this property. The group consisted of myself, wife, 20 year old son, 17 year old daughter, and her 18 year old friend. All in the group enjoyed themselves.
The house itself was beautiful and had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. The master bed was a bit firm for me, but that is no knock on the bed, it was a quality mattress. There was plenty to do inside with TV's and games in the basement, but we spent little time in the house. The deck on the second floor was our favorite place. I took my morning coffee, we read books, talked, and ate all of our meals out there. The view of the cove was spectacular.
My wife enjoyed walking around and taking pictures of the flora and fauna on the property. During the day we kayaked and fished. The fishing was not action packed, but fun enough. Caught some puppy drum, white perch, croaker, and spot. Had a snakehead following the lure but he would not commit.
Taking the kayaks out to explore the cove and the neighboring coves was fun. the water was generally flat and not too much boat traffic. The girls enjoyed spending the afternoon floating in a double tube we brought with us tied up to the dock.
The jelly fish were not too bad and caused no issues. We were greeted each morning by a beautiful Northern Water Snake which would swim past the dock and then come back each evening. Wonderful coloring on him. There were birds galore to watch and listen to as well.
My family had a wonderful stay at Ivy Cove. We were in town for our niece’s wedding and it was close enough to participate in all family activities but far enough away to be a peaceful haven to relax. The house is beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the fire pit and game room. The owner was fantastic. We would absolutely stay again in this amazing home.
This property was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough good things about it. Very comfortable, very peaceful, plenty of great things to do at the house and in the area. We will definitely be back again. KJ is an awesome host. Thank you for sharing your great home with us!
The property is exactly how it's pictured except the pictures don't do the recent renovations justice. The tilework in the bathrooms, the outside decking and hardscape, and the wood floors throughout were absolutely beautiful. The house was stocked with towels, linens, and kitchenware. We just needed to go to the grocery store and we were set! KJ even had it decorated for the holidays.
We enjoyed watching wildlife from the windows in the mornings and taking advantage of ALL of the games in the rec room in the afternoons.
KJ was a great host. He checked in with us without being intrusive and he made check-in/check-out easier than a beach rental.
The pictures do not do this home justice! It’s so much better. Every detail inside is tasteful and understated. We came to visit Solomon’s Island and hit Oysterfest, but found ourselves at home more than anticipated… dropping a line in the water, taking out the kayaks, sitting on the porch, playing pinball, eating crabs. And most of all, the host is amazing. KJ was responsive and went above and beyond with little extras that made our stay that much more special. I can’t wait to invent a reason to go back!
This vacation rental was nothing short of spectacular. It offered the perfect blend of relaxation, comfort, and convenience. If you're seeking a dream getaway in paradise, look no further. This vacation rental is an absolute gem that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a slice of heaven on Earth.
This property was exactly as described and worked great for the group we had traveling. KJ has done a great job with this property to make it very comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed our time on the patio and wish we would have have been able to have another day or two to enjoy even more that the cove has to offer.
We loved our time at Ivy Cove! The cottage is super clean, the beds and furniture are really comfortable, the amenities are great and the view can’t be beat. You can tell a lot of love went into renovating and decorating the cottage. KJ was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay, house is well equipped, clean, and great location. Kids lived fishing and catch crabs in the traps off the dock.
Host is very responsive.
Highly recommend!
5 stars all around! The owner thinks of everything. This is the second time we have stayed, house both times was super clean, plenty of activities at the house itself: kayaks, cornhole, fishing & crabbing or just sitting and watching/listening to the wildlife. Basement has an old fashioned jukebox with a great mix of oldies/classic rock and a pinball machine. Close to a state parks for hiking and Solomons Island for great dining. Thank you again KJ for an awesome stay, again.
Quite:
This riparian home sits in a mature neighborhood along the headwaters of a large creek. Neither car nor boat noise is obtrusive.
Secluded:
Large trees on the property, and throughout the neighborhood, in addition to the natural topography of the area provided uninterrupted privacy.
Outdoor Comfort:
The deeply overhung wrap around porch and generous seating enabled hours of reading and lounging for our party of 5. The double hammock and hexagonal picnic table also enjoy shade from the tree canopy. There is a park bench on the pier and foldable chairs available for even more seating.
Indoor Comfort:
A new 3-piece suite in the living room, along with a ceiling fan and flat screen, rendered evening entertainments a delight. The kitchen has EVERYTHING - full stop! The bedrooms are cozy with a ceiling fan in the primary. The bathrooms, like the kitchen, have updated tiles, fixtures, etc. Bedding and towels are all new and soft.
Activities:
Three kayaks & life vest, fishing polls, pier, corn hole, pin ball, and arcade games were a real hit with our crowd. All implements are clean and in good working order. We also enjoyed evening constitutionals in the neighborhood.
The Host:
KJ is welcoming and kind. It is obvious that he takes great pride in this listing. The house and environs are all well appointed and maintained. We have stayed in many VRBO listings in the past and can honestly say that this is one of, if not the, best.
The place is awesome. Everything that you need to have a nice relaxing time with the family. The game room downstairs was a huge plus for the kids. So many things to do at the place and in the area. The place is secluded with many wildlife friends and critters. We would definitely recommend for great family time together.
This is a beautiful part of the world. I came down with friends to fish in the Chesapeake. We not only had great fishing, the accommodations were wonderful. There was a birdfeeder and we must’ve seen 15 species of birds including one beautiful one I’ve never seen before, a summer Tanager
We stayed in Ivy Cove for four nights and had a wonderful time. The house is so clean and well stocked, from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the outdoor gear. We loved the water views from almost the entire house, and especially from the porch swings! We had four adults and two toddlers there for the weekend, and there was plenty of space for us all to have fun. The games and Wurlitzer in the basement were a huge hit for everyone too. We loved seeing so much wildlife around the entire weekend- fish, birds, a bald eagle, a heron, a fox, and more! It was also super convenient to get out to the grocery store, as well as to a nice playground and area attractions. KJ was incredibly responsive and helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great vacation. We look forward to visiting again!
This cottage was everything the listing said and so much more. This was our first time to the area and our favorite thing about the entire trip was the cottage. Beautifully renovated, it had everything. We got a lot of rain and enjoyed sitting on the peaceful porch listening to the rain and the birds overlooking the creek. On Saturday the sun came out and the kids were able to fish, kayak, and roast marshmallows around the large fire pit. Inside, the cottage was full of entertainment. Arcade games and a jukebox loaded with great music. This place has everything and KJ was a terrific host. We can’t wait to go back again.
