Great location for an extended weekend of riding the UTV trails with plenty of parking for the UTVs, trailers, & tow vehicles. We also enjoyed the sunsets on Trump lake as well as catching pan fish off of the pier. The gas grill on the patio & fire pit by the shoreline were also much appreciated. We definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.
The weather didn’t cooperate but we had a lot to see. The cabin is comfortable and the grounds were very nice. Had a fire in the fire pit and did some fishing. The owner is friendly and easy to communicate with
The cabin was perfect for our stay at Trump Lake. The cabin was very clean with enough space for 5 of us and all the essential kitchen needs. The yard was also great with outdoor seating to enjoy the lake.
It was the perfect getaway and just what our family needed. We wanted to get a feel for the lake life so we could find a place of our own one day in the near future. There was plenty of space and cozy accommodations for our family of four. We loved taking the pontoon out for the day and catching big panfish off the pier. Our boys absolutely loved the place as did we!
Just what we were looking for in a long weekend getaway! My wife and I and our three children (6,5,1) enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating at the cabin. Our kids caught plenty of fish right off the dock. We had campfires each night and used the Blackstone grill to make dinners. The cabin was perfectly sized, one of the bedrooms had bunkbeds for our girls and we were able to set up our son's pack and play in the 3rd bedroom. We had great weather and used the pontoon two of the days which I would highly recommend. The lake is small but very clean and beautiful, the kids loved seeing the turtles, wood ducks, and loons. Thank you Doug for letting us stay at your cabin, hope we can visit again in the future!
No towels or wash clothes were provided. Previous properties we rented provided those amenities. The main bedroom had clothes hanging up, boxes around and toys out. It made it feel that someone else was staying there and made it very uncomfortable. Aside from that, the rooms were lovely and it was a very nice place to stay.

We stopped providing towels and washcloths after they started going missing. There are dozens of wash cloths and hand towels in the bathroom cabinet. Yes, there are some clothes and personal items around because it is an owner used cabin. This is a very common thing for VRBO‘s. Toys and games are provided for everyone to use. And, I would be surprised if anything was left out. The cleaning person is extremely good about tidying up.
I can say this is the best stay we have had in our VRBO experiences thus far. By far the best Pontoon rental. We do not need much when it comes to amenities. I am a big guy and the only thing I can say is if you are too, sleep on the bottom bed of the bunk beds. But for a fishing trip…Trump lake provided. Goal was to get a big fish for the 10 yr old nephew and he got it a 30” pike and surprising I landed a healthy 36” Musky. Roger the host even reached out mid stay to check on us and was accommodating with everything. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an older cabin o if you're looking for luxury accommodations this is not for you. If want a roof and everything you need for a comfortable, quant stay then I highly recommend!
What we liked: cottage was on the lake, a pontoon boat could be rented, trees surrounded the cottage, wildlife on the lake was awesome (We saw 3 loons, a bald eagle and a blue heron)
What we didn’t like: exterior of cottage had mildew on the siding, rotting wood around the windows, porch windows couldn’t be opened because they were chalked shut, furniture was very old and not comfortable, grills outside were dirty, refrigerator and freezer had the owner’s food in them, one of the bedrooms had such an odd smell we couldn’t sleep in it, dressers couldn’t be used because the owner’s clothes were in them, one window air conditioner for the entire cottage that was held in place by a piece of form board.

Mildew builds up on the backside of the cabin and is cleaned once a year. Never had any complaints about bad smells or uncomfortable furniture before. Only food left in refrigerator were some frozen pizzas left by the previous renter, And some condiments in the refrigerator door. The air conditioner is not held in by a piece of foam board. Foam board is used for insulation because the window has to be removed to fit the air conditioner in, which cools the entire Cabin. Not sure how some dry rot around porch windows would hinder anyone’s stay. Some clothes and personal items are always at the cabin because we use it and that is the entire concept of the VRBO’s. Some people are just extremely finicky and should probably stick to hotels. Lol
Our family had a wonderful time staying at this cabin/cottage on Trump Lake. The three bedrooms were just right for our crew of six. We had campfires, used the kayaks, and rented the pontoon. Doug was quick to respond to any questions I had.
Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We had a wonderful long weekend with our kids and grandkids. This cottage was very clean, hot water was great, had a lot of fun on the lake and in the cottage. This property had everything we needed to have a great long weekend. Thank you again.
The cabin was beautiful and lake was perfect my youngest and I really enjoyed the boat and both kids couldn't belive how many fish were right next to the dock. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fishing or water sports getaway
