The Vatican is at the top of almost everyone’s list when visiting Rome. However, visiting the dome, or “cupola,” of St. Peter’s Basilica is is one of the most overlooked aspects of the Basilica. Climbing up to the top is a truly magical way to see St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican overall. Not only can you see the incredible mosaics up close, but you can also see a view of the entirety of Rome from above the Vatican
