Copper Porch Cottage on Lake Hamilton, Fire pit, Fishing Dock, Boat Ramp, Views!
Copper Porch Cottage is right on the water on beautiful Lake Hamilton, only 10-15 minutes from Oaklawn and Hot Springs downtown. Groceries from Kroger and Walmart and restaurants like Bubba Brew's and Mug Shots Coffee are all about 5 minutes away on easy main roads. Birdwatch from the screened porch, kayak and swim the large inlet, and roast smores around the fire pit at this private location. The 1900sf interior, parking, and storage were developed with eight people in mind, but it’s cozy enough for a couple. As an added health and safety precaution no guests arrive on the same day that another departs.
Copper Porch Cottage gets its name from the screened porch where you can talk for hours protected from mosquitos! The screening is copper, which is the best material for viewing, but please try not to touch it or lean things against it as it's a bit more fragile than other screening. There’s a table for four for dining al fresco and a cushioned sofa and chair. A grill with propane provided is located down the stairs off the screened porch. Outdoor living continues at the lake with a fire pit with masonry seating area. We provide firewood, so bring on the smores! The 16’ x 12’ dock with boat mooring gives you a front-row seat to enjoy the evening, swim, or go fishing. Its deepest water is about 4-5 feet, so we recommend entering and exiting the water at the boat ramp, the ladder on the dock, or jumping feet first. Utilize the private boat ramp right outside the back door by bringing your personal watercraft or SUP. The ramp is best for small boats; there is a public boat ramp 5 minutes away for larger boats. There’s parking for your truck and trailer as well. [PLEASE NOTE: from early-mid November through mid-March Lake Hamilton is lowered several feet for dock maintenance. There is still plenty of water to boat and fish, but the boat mooring on the swim dock is not available. We are happy to message you a photo of the lake during those months.]
Adjoining living areas means a cozy, gas fireplace den for playing board games and another sitting area to watch the game on a 50" TV. The open concept makes viewing the TV possible at the dining table. Like to cook? We’ve got you covered with a fully outfitted kitchen with granite countertops, 12-cup drip coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, ice maker and blender. The gas cooktop is four burners with a griddle in the center and below is a 30” gas oven.
The 1900 square foot cottage has two king bedrooms and a four-bed XL bunk room, all with blackout curtains and locally made amazing mattresses so you can get some sleep. There’s an on-demand water heater, so there’s a constant supply of hot water for 8 guests to take a hot shower one after the other. The main level king bedroom is an en suite with a tub shower, double sinks and a 32” smart TV with cable. The bunk room beds are extra-large twins with mattress toppers, which comfortably accommodate adults. Host a girl’s weekend because the bunks have nice stairs, not a ladder, to the top bunks. The TV in the bunk room is for streamed content, no cable. The hall bathroom next to the bunk room has a walk-in shower with glass door and plenty of towel rods and hooks. Down the stairs at lake level is a very private king bedroom with club chairs, a 52” smart TV with cable, a full bathroom, and a covered porch. We recommend that children do not sleep downstairs as there is a door leading outside to the porch that is 40 feet from the lake. This is a split-level home with most of the rooms on the main level and only this private suite downstairs.
The dog fee is $100 per stay with a maximum of 2 dogs. The yard is not fenced. No cats or other pets are allowed. Please message the host with breed and size of dog when making your reservation. There are 2 orange sit-on and 2 khaki sit-in kayaks available for rent for $150 for up to 4 kayaks per stay. Please let us know how many of which type you would like and then we will send the extra charge, liability waiver and boating info.
Regarding accessibility, there are three steps from the carport into the house on the main level, and once inside there is a set of stairs down to one of the king bedrooms and bathroom. There is a sidewalk leading down the side of the house to the exterior entrance of the downstairs bedroom and to the boat ramp and lake. The sidewalk is too steep for a wheelchair without a VERY strong helper in our opinion. You can also reach the grill, lake and fire pit via a set of stairs from the screened porch.
We do have external security cameras.
At this time our maximum stay is 4 weeks. We offer a 15% discount for weekly stays. Please message us about discounts for reservations that are 2 weeks or longer.

Enjoyed our time at the Lake house. Good location, close to most everything but in a very quiet neighborhood. Quiet cove. Loved the screened back porch. House has everything you need, very clean, comfortable furniture and bed. Highly recommend.
Gorgeous property and really nice house! We loved the dock, quiet spot to float and swim, and screened front porch! Very clean and had everything we needed!
This place was just great. Comfortable furniture, comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, and right on the lake. We had such a great time here and would definitely stay at this house again. It was everything you would hope for in a lake house retreat. We especially enjoyed watching the wildlife and floating in the lake while enjoying beverages. The fire pit and screened porch were also favorites.
My family of 7 plus 2 dogs had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the Copper Cottage in Hot Springs. The house is right on the river and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our visit. Host was very attentive. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your review and for highlighting the fun you had in the fall! You are so right, those pics need work; I'll be updating those in the spring.
The copper cottage was the perfect weekend getaway. The cottage was clean and cozy. My favorite was the screened in porch. The beds were really comfy too!! We will definitely be renting again!!
Property was even better than pictured. Very clean and spacious. The outdoor screened in porch was key in enjoying the nice weather without worrying about bugs. Overall great place to take a large family or group of friends.
This property was great! Great location! Centrally located for restaurants on the water by boat. We caught lots of fish from the dock. My daughter loved the geese and ducks that came around often. We will definitely be back!!

Thanks, Sarah! We hope to see you again - I think I better take fishing lessons from you guys... :)
The newly remodeled cottage met all of my family's needs including a well-stocked kitchen, clean washrooms (towels provided), a large and comfortable screened porch with ceiling fans, a fire pit (logs provided), and a dock which provided us with an opportunity to watch the moon rise each night. Truly a comfortable, well-maintained vacation home.

Thank you for your review. You're making me wish I was on the dock right now!
We loved our stay at this lake house! The house is beautifully remodeled and has everything you could need. The location is perfect and close to everything that Hot Springs has to offer. We really enjoyed our time on the back screened in porch and the dock off the lake. The owner was great and replied instantly to any questions we had. We hated leaving and will be back again soon!
My family had a wonderful time! We caught many fish from the dock, explored the lake by pontoon, enjoyed the comfort of the screened in porch and learned all about the historic hot springs. This exceptional property had everything we needed to make it feel like home. Grandparent and kid approved. Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot!

The house was a perfect size, clean, and great views. Great communication and quick responses. We even stayed another day because we were having such a good time. Loves having a private boat ramp for our fishing boat and caught lots of fish off the dock! We will be back!

About the host
Hosted by Gale
Mom and I purchased this home after a birthday trip to Hot Springs and a very lengthy home search. We shared a lot of laughs and exhaustion in the two years of the remodel! We met some amazing folks along the way and are blessed to call the property manager and his family friends. We love knowing that our guests have shared many laughs at our dining table, had good conversations around the fire pit, got much-needed rest on the comfy beds, and enjoyed relaxing with their coffee on the porch.
Why they chose this property
Our neighborhood is quiet yet convenient to food, shopping, Oaklawn, and downtown. Everyone takes pride in their homes here, and we love being a part of it. This inlet is peaceful and calm and provides the perfect opportunity to swim, kayak, fish and relax here. We strive for a 5-star experience for our guests and hope that we have thought of everything to make your vacation at Copper Porch Cottage one of your best memories.
What makes this property unique
We take your vacation dollars and time seriously. We strive to provide a fun and inviting property for you because we appreciate your business. Copper Porch Cottage is only steps from the water but is very private unlike other homes or condos in the area. The serene inlet feels safe and calm for swimming and fishing, and the great water views from the porch and living areas can't be beat. Access to the water is easy via the boat ramp or the swim dock ladder, and the water is close, not down a steep hill. It is stocked for your convenience with a propane grill, fire pit with firewood, paper consumables, large kitchen, a gas fireplace in the fall/winter, and plenty of parking. We use climate control year round whether we have guests or not so the humidity in the home stays at optimal levels in the Hot Springs climate.
