In the heart of the Périgord, in the town of THENON, halfway between Sarlat and Périgueux, on a private property spanning several hectares within the Des Genêts estate, La PRAIRIE offers high-quality accommodation in a quiet, lush setting.
The cottage is bright and well-equipped (washing machine, oven, fridge-freezer, 4-burner glass-ceramic cooktop, etc.). The two bedrooms (sleeps 5) are furnished with high-quality bedding: one master bedroom and one children’s bedroom (sleeps 3, including one bunk bed). We can provide baby gear upon request. Outside, the terrace is furnished with garden furniture and a BBQ.

The cottage opens onto a wooded park and a vast meadow where children can play to their heart’s content (no roads, only a private driveway).On the property, you have access to a 12×6 pool, shared with the “Gîtes des Genêts,” which is secure and open from May through the end of October. In the park, you’ll find a playground and a ping-pong table—everything that contributes to a family-friendly atmosphere... The environment is very safe for children.
La Prairie is part of a renovation project featuring typical Périgord-style buildings (exposed stone, beams, etc.).
On-site, numerous hiking and mountain biking trails will delight you, as will the vast open spaces where children can play safely.
Thenon is a quiet town where you’ll find all the shops and services you need (supermarket, farm-to-table supermarket, weekly market year-round, seasonal night market, fishing pond with an open-air café, tree-top adventure park, restaurants, and more).Within a radius of about 10 km, you can visit the most popular tourist sites in the Périgord (the Lascaux 4 International Centre for Cave Art, Hautefort Castle, the Tourtoirac Caves), as well as Sarlat, the Dordogne Valley, the Vézère Valley, Périgueux, and more.
