The village has a rich history, and trading from the port dates back to Viking times and there are the remains of a 13th Century chapel at the end of the harbour. This region is steeped in ancient and modern history and there are countless sites of historical interest to visit, from Iron Age and Mesolithic Forts to standing stones. This area is a fascinating region and makes a great base for a family holiday.
