Utopia is a waterfront cabin located on 4 acres overlooking Oil Creek in Derby Indiana. Originally constructed in 1849 and dismantled and moved to its current location today in 2019. It offers a queen bed in the upstairs sleeping loft and a futon on the main floor. Wi-Fi is now available in the cabin. It has 1 bathroom with a washer and dryer also. The kitchen has a full-size stove and refrigerator. The hot tub is located on the front porch overlooking the grounds and creek. Hot tub is cleaned between stays and will require time to reheat. We have a fire pit off the deck. A charcoal grill is provided but you need to bring your own charcoal. Utopia is a short walk to the Mogan Ridge Trailhead. Utopia is the perfect place for a small family to come relax and enjoy a fishing trip or a relaxing getaway.
The Derby Community Center and park is located in Derby just a short drive away. They host many events and also have a boat ramp into the Ohio River. There are basketball courts, swings, slides, a shelter house at the park.

We loved our time at Utopia! The cabin is exactly what we expected. The only thing that would have made our trip better was some snowfall. The wood stove was great, you do need to bring your own small pieces of wood (less than 18” long). We went to the most charming little general store up the road in Derby and purchased bundles for a very reasonable price. We would absolutely come back to stay here!

Really pretty and private. Hot tub started smelling like fish though on our last night. Recommendations for the host: put an address sign out front with the address number, add a handrail to the stairs, and provide sponges if you want the dishes cleaned.

This cabin was the perfect size for myself and my daughters (12 and 16) to have a getaway. The property does not have Wi-Fi, but I was able to use the hotspot on my cell to use my laptop.
