High speed internet, cosy woodburner and equipped to a high standard. Private courtyard garden and use of shared grounds, the barn is surrounded by stunning countryside. Plenty of parking onsite and a beautiful spot for peace and relaxation at the end of a long day exploring the beautiful Westcountry.

We had great experience staying in this comfy barn conversion. We felt like we had scored on Escape to the Country and still had access to Exeter, Dartmoor National Park and the beach. Christine is a helpful and attentive host.

Lovely Barn in a Beautiful location. The Barn was fully equipped with everything we needed and was lovely and clean. Really enjoyed our stay. The hosts are lovely and welcoming.

Idyllic countryside barn

We loved every second of our stay in The Barn. Very central for exploring the region and it was lovely to return to a quiet and comfortable home each night. The shower in the bathroom has great pressure and the amenities were everything we needed. Felt very welcome and safe during our stay.

Great Barn

A really great barn conversion, we found it very comfortable and had all amenities, beautiful situation and very convenient to many Devon towns. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

A lovely, relaxing stay

The cottage is lovely. It is clean, very comfortable and a lovely place to relax. They were very accommodating for our little one too - travel cot, high chair etc.

Relaxed stay in a little gem

Home from home stay in this lovely property with helpful and relaxed owners. It is very well equipped and very comfortable - wifi, hot water, shower, digital TV, beds, all excellent. Beautiful setting in the rolling Devon hills with easy access to towns and Exeter itself. Perfect stay.

Quiet and tidy comfortable and spacious cottage.

We stayed for two weeks in the cottage to explore the National Trust properties and Devon. The cottage and location was perfect for it. I would recommend it.

We moved to Devon with our three young sons 2006, a return home for Shaun who was born and brought up in nearby Cockwood. We met in London and co-incidentally both have roots in East Africa. We both run our own businesses from home and enjoy a rare quality of life with our boys in this beautiful rural location. We spend our summers boating, fishing and surfing and our winters watching rugby, walking our dogs, inside cooking or cosied up in front of the fire. We love hosting with all its ups and downs! Have made some lifelong friends and genuinely enjoy meeting our guests and sharing this beautiful part of the world.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the house, parts of which date back to the 17th Century and its peace and quiet. The Farm is surrounded by iconic rolling green hills but close enough to the city of Exeter for schools and transport. Cornwall is an hour away with its golden beaches, surfing and tourist destinations including Rock, Padstow and locations from Rosamund Pilcher, Poldark and Doc Martin. Devon is an foodie paradise with organic local produce and fresh fish available at our local farm shops. The Rivers Exe and Dart are nearby with award winning waterside pubs and boating to enjoy or just watch the world float by.
The Farm has been an ideal place for our children, the house is not only a home, but a hub for our extended family and a work HQ.
There is something for every season here, we never get bored!

What makes this property unique

Located high up on a hill above the village of Tedburn, the Barn is full of character. As part of an historic working farm it was converted from an old cow shed which ha has thick cob walls, keeping it cosy in winter and cool in summer. It is quiet and peaceful and there is space for everyone. It is a perfect hub for touring with easy access to the M5 and A30/38, Plymouth’s continental ferry to France and Spain, and Exeter and Bristol airports. Locally, Exeter is 15 minutes away with its University and mainline station which has a high speed rail link and direct trains to London.
The village has thriving pubs, and sporting facilities including tennis courts.
