About this property

Harris Chain of Lakes gorgeous home on Lake Griffin with private boat dock and lift. Rent a pontoon and boat out to the Atlantic Ocean, or just explore the five major lakes and the historic Dora Canal and Mount Dora! Veteran owned and operated three bedroom, 2 bath home with garage, heated swimming pool, large fire pit for family cookouts, and large dock! Nestled in the perfect location on a peninsula almost completely surrounded by beautiful Lake Griffin. Get up early, fix a cup of coffee, have a seat in the family room or at the pool or on the dock and watch an array of daily sunrises during your stay!

Large single story 2400 square foot house. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Super large master bedroom with private bath. Glass slider opens to private seating area next to the pool. Two other bedrooms share a large bath and private patio on the other end of the house. Large recently updated and painted kitchen with stainless appliances. Family room and enclosed Lanai share an awesome view of the pool and lake!

Home is located on Lake Griffin in the Harris Chain of Lakes in Central Florida, thirty minutes north of Orlando and Disney World, and 90 minutes from either the Atlantic or Gulf coasts. Our vacation rental is virtually off the grid from normal busy and congested tourist spots. The house is nestled deep within a residential neighborhood on a peninsula about two miles from the main highway which is the original Orange Blossom Trail, running north and south thru the entire state. Walmart and shops and restaurants are close by and we are only a few miles from The Villages, the largest retirement community in America, with free live entertainment every night of the year!

Relaxing Oasis

Beautiful location, beautiful sunrise on our last day. This is our second time staying in this beautiful lake front home. Dennis and Thim are so kind. Very relaxing!!

Golf Championship

Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The place was clean and well organized. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and were very accommodating to our arrival time of 2:00 AM. Little things go a long way and the muffins they left for us upon arrival was really thoughtful. Highly recommend the place.

Amazing House on the Lake

Very cute and clean house right on the lake! The neighborhood was very peaceful and family friendly. The owners are incredible! They only live a couple of doors down and even made us an authentic Thai meal one night! I would highly recommend this property!

Great Summer Vacation

Our stay was so much fun. The kids loved the pool and the lake was beautiful. My husband and father in law caught many fish. The propety was beautiful and the home owners were very sweet and accommodating.

Beautiful Lake House for FUN Family Weekend!!

Excellent property! Prime location, plenty of space for the adults and teens all to have their fun!! Dennis was beyond fabulous, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Amazing Getaway

Dennis and Thim met us upon arrival and went through every possible detail in a very welcoming fashion. The home is immaculate inside and out. Beautiful home decor, lanai and pool was fabulous. The sunrise view was over the lake amazing. We managed to catch a few fish from the dock and had a great time watching the local wildlife. We couldn’t of asked for a better stay or host couple. This is a wonderful property that would be the perfect vacation spot for any family gathering or getaway. Could not recommend this property strongly enough. 5 Stars plus

A weekend to remember

This was my third time visiting Sunrise Serenity. We love it there so much we decided to have our little backyard wedding ceremony on property. It was perfect and Dennis and Thim were there for every need and request and responded within minutes. Thim makes THE best Thai cuisine. We will be back for years to come.

Lovely....

This property has it all! The gorgeous 1960s house is spacious, but comfy, very clean, and has the perfect Florida lakehouse vibe. Every indoor and outdoor space curated by the owners is tranquility personified; with gorgeous plants, flowers, and trees framing the sky and lake. You will see every native FL bird right in the backyard and from the dock. I will be bringing multiple sets of binoculars next time :) The pool and patio are perfect for lazing around or playing pool games. Thim and Dennis, thank you, again, for the best vacation experience. Your place is definitely a treasure!

We had such a wonderful time staying at “Sunrise Serenity” perfect spot for family fun, very spacious , great pool, beautiful water front view, amazing sunrise and sunset! VRBO's Finest

From the moment we arrived Dennis and Thimm were exceptional. We had a two year old and communicated that ahead of time since there are many fragile and delicate decorations. They moved nearly all out of her reach. The home and dock are older but well maintained and it was perfect for our trip. Some reviews spoke of the dock's condition, as I said it's older but as a 350# man I was completely comfortable and safe on it. We swam, fished (caught), relaxed, and enjoyed The Villages nearby. There's a boat ramp a block away and everything else you may need is a short trip away. The screened pool was perfect for our family and kept all the bugs at bay. We used virtually every amenity and they all lived up to expectations. There was a Heat advisory in place while we were there and Dennis continually worked to ensure we were comfortable. One of our best decisions was hiring a local fishing guide (Captain Gino Losi) to show us lake strategies. Everyone in the family was able to catch fish from the dock and he ensured our success in other areas. We use VRBO a few times a year and this was one of the best properties we've encountered. The hosts were THE best. They live two doors down and are available but not intrusive at all.

Family Time

Dennis & Thim met us at the house upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property. Advising of everything we needed to know. They are a couple doors away should you have any questions or issues. It was great since this was our first experience renting a home. The house and property were very clean. Which was wonderful given my nephews has OCD. We can't wait to go back to their home and lake griffin. The neighborhood is peaceful and not far from the villages. Unfortunately, thanks to the rain, we couldn't use the firepit. Which looked wonderful. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you Dennis & Thim! See you soon!

Fantastic Weekend of Celebration

We went for the weekend to celebrate grandma's 80th birthday. Dennis and Thim were such great hosts. Hospitality is their middle name. We utilized all of their amenities. The boat ride with Captain D was awesome. The lake is huge! We took the kayak out, had a fire, enjoyed the pool, the porch swing, the bikes and the gas grill! There was something for everyone. Gorgeous home highly recommend for anyone and any occasion. You could get married in their backyard it's so beautiful. Grandma said it was the best birthday ever!

Amazing experience staying three nights at the property. Dennis and Thim we're there to greet me and made sure I was checked in ok. The house is meticulous and only a few miles from restaurants and supermarkets etc. Great location on the lake, unfortunately the fishing wasnt as great out back as I would have liked, though some locals fishing around there said the dock was normally a hot spot! I would definitely stay again. The Thai food Thim made was amazing.

Lovely, large home to accommodate a family or large group.

Working with Dennis and Thim was a pleasure. They are so kind and responded immediately to any question I had for them. Their house was a perfect fit for my group of six. Sadly the pool was out of order. I wish the house was in a better neighborhood where we could’ve walked to a store or restaurant. I would stay there again if in the area.

Wonderful quiet accommodations. Beautiful dock for reading with a nice breeze all day!! Will definitely return. Thim made us some wonderful spring rolls which were out of this world!!

Why they chose this property

Although this property is a bit dated (1961) it has it's own unique personality and characteristics to make you feel right at home. It sits on a half acre of lakefront property that many of the neighbors have declared as the best lake view on the whole street. Our property contains at least 7 huge live oak trees covering and surrounding the house. All of our friends and family visiting from up north have had nothing but positive comments and kudos and an anxious promise to return, which led us to this decision to open our little piece of paradise to the general public.
