About this property
Peaceful Cabin on Water plus Platte River Access
Welcome to the Leshara Lodge! Located less than 30 minutes from Omaha, we offer a quiet getaway from the noise of the city. Our guest house is secluded in the woods and located on body of water literally just out the front door. The Platte River is less than a half mile walk. A fisherman and bird-watchers dream - actually, a dream for anyone who loves nature!
Our guest house was fully remodeled in 2019. At 900 sqft, it's the perfect size for couples or a family with two kids (there is a queen bed and a full sized air mattress available). You'll have access to a private gas grill, and the kitchenette comes supplied with a full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric griddle (perfect for breakfasts!), glasses, plates and utensils. While we don't supply a full breakfast, coffee and a coffee maker are furnished - there is nothing better out here than having a hot cup outside in the morning.
For extra security, there is a gate you'll have to enter to gain access to the guest house. The guest code will be given to you before you arrive at the property. In addition, there are security camera's around the property. Please note, there are no camera's inside the guest house itself.
We love the outdoors and want to share it with you! With your stay you'll have full access to fishing (in three different bodies of water - the warm water slough located right outside the guest house; in the Platter River, which is a quick 10 minute walk; or in a pond located right next to the river), canoeing, walking in nature, and the Platte River (for lounging on a sandbar OR casting a line!). Our guest house is located on 50+ acres, so there is plenty of room to roam!
Enjoy wildlife?? Here are just *some* of our regular visitors: deer, turkey, mink, fox, Canadian Geese (we have 22 locals who live in the water off the guest house), Baltimore Orioles, hummingbirds, and many other variety of birds.
Be sure to bring your fishing poles and gear! Expect to catch catfish, bass, carp, crappie, or the occasional walleye. Northern Pike make rare appearances! Bow-fishing is another popular activity out here.
All fish you catch can be kept and cleaned, with the exception of those caught at the pond; which is catch and release only.
*Please note, it is also recommended you bring life jackets if you plan to get in the Platte River*
Our home is the only other house on the immediate property. While we are generally available to our guests, we know privacy is key and will 100% grant you that - unless, of course, you have questions or want any guidance to the property; then we'll be happy to help!

We loved staying here in such a charming and quiet cabin. It had all the amenities we could possibly need and afforded us a nice and calm place with which to rest. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Outstanding location! We wanted peace and quiet and that is what we found there. Not the most user friendly place if you want to bring supplies and cook meals like we did. But, overall, a terrific experience!
Had my annual weekend trip with my best friend. This place/location was fantastic. Beautiful views from the cabin and down by the river. Was everything the listing said it would be and more! Would fully recommend.
Jenn gave great directions to the property. When we arrived, the cabin was so clean and beautiful. The view is breathtaking. Itβs not far from Fremont so going out to get groceries/things forgotten was not difficult. We would DEFINITELY stay again and recommend to others.
Our mini vaca was perfect! My son caught a 6 lb and 10 lb catfish so it made his weekend. Nice place and hosts! They let us pick their homegrown tomatoes which were delicious. Very relaxing and beautiful place.
Everything about our stay was fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful sitting on the patio watching the finches, hummingbirds, enjoying our meals. The inside of cabin is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Dave and Jennifer great hosts! We will be back!ππ
Very clean cabin. Plenty of room for two adults and two kids.
Dish tv, full size fridge, microwave.
Patio with grill and a fire pit.
You can even cast from the patio Into the river if you care to fish.
Very nice peaceful area that is full of wildlife. We will definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a relaxing getaway. Even with rainy weather, we were able to enjoy the outdoors, including some quality time to visit and pet the nearby percheron horses! Our hosts did their best to accommodate us during our stay, especially with removing ponding rainfall from the driveway after a heavy thunderstorm. The cabin was furnished with all of the kitchen utensils that were needed. Thank you and would love to visit again if in Nebraska.
A friend and I came back for our 50th High School reunion and usually stay in a hotel for past reunions. We decided to try a VRBO instead. Best decision we could have made. It was clean, will ecquipped, great beds and a beautiful setting to enjoy nature. The hosts were lovely,g racious people. We stayed 5 nights and would haveliked to stay much longer.
For someone to open their home and property up like this for Other to experience is true rarity. I think I have found my escape place. Thank you Dave and Jenn
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and it was perfect for relaxing in the morning and evening. We had a small gathering one afternoon including children, grandchildren and brother/sister in law. Our daughter who is in a wheelchair was very comfortable here and was able to get close enough to the water to throw in a fishing line. The guest house was very accommodating to all. The caring of the owners was evident in all the extras for our comfort and enjoyment!
The entire experience was beyond our expectations! The property is amazing. Listened to the eagles while drinking my morning coffee outside on the beautiful patio next to a fish filled slough. Quiet evenings outside. Nice fishing at the pond and at the river. Every detail is seen to from welcome booklet to to checkout. Easy place to get to, Jenn and Dave are welcoming, gracious hosts. Had the amazing opportuniry the make friends with their beahtiful horses. Dont bother with looking at other properties - this is the place you want!
Yup, two Texans pulled up to Leshara Lodge...and were speechless. And that sure is saying something for Texans! Words and photos don't do justice to this place; it was an unforgettable family gathering. Mother's Day week - Mom's 90-plus and declared, "If I lived here I wouldn't get nothing done." Why? We passed the time - never bored - watching Mother Nature and enjoying peace and quiet and family. Warning: If you want fine dining and party places within a few blocks, this one's not for you. If you want an unforgettable stay in very rural southeast Nebraska, you can't beat it. Thanks to Jenn and Dave, Bob and Dottie for helping our stay extra special.
Great place to stay in the Omaha/Lincoln area. Property is right on the Platte river with fishing just steps away. Has all you need for a night stay or a week.
