Great place for a group to stay, with lovely bach vibes. Loved that our group of 10 could all sit around the table for meal times. Stunning views up and down the coast from the house. Great location for our group to do some road trips. Highly recommend.
We arrived during a storm and a little flooding in the basement bathroom but easily cleaned up. We were also there during the 5.9 magnitude earthquake which shook the whole Bach. Frightening for the kids but felt safe. Roads closed due to slips and flooding so had to leave a day early to get back home via alternative routes. Locals were extremely helpful for updating roads to use and suggested stop overs for Saturday night. So, although the fishing rods never left the truck, a very memorable experience. The Bach was perfect for weathering the storm.
Unbeatable views, fully equipped and comfortable. We've stayed here many times over the years and we'll keep coming back. Our kids have made great memories here.
Great iconic style kiwi bach. Amazing views!!! A great spot to explore all the area has to offer. Stayed with our large family and dog, accommodated us well, with everything we needed. Easy communication with host. Will definitely be coming back.
kitchen was fully equipped but it was difficult to store our own nonperishable food for lack of suitable space. the downstairs bedrooms are aged and could do with a spruce up.
We loved our stay at Mokino! The view is second to none- from the comfort of beds even! We were there for a teachers retreat; the view, the comfort and the homely feeling really helped us relax and refresh. Thank you for sharing your home with us :-)
