Waterfront cottage, Te Wahapu Bay, Russell.

The Bay Cottage is situated in historic Te Wahapu Bay on the Russell Peninsula in the Bay of Islands. With its waterfront setting,'The Bay Cottage' is the ideal, romantic "get away from it all" location with comfortable and welcoming amenities. It provides a peaceful and secluded location for your leisure break or holiday.

A short drive to Russell Village, yet a world away from everyone, 'The Bay Cottage' provides a stunning waterfront holiday venue with decks looking out over the bay.

This is a great spot with easy access to the historic Bay of Islands, Waitangi Treaty House and other early sites of interest in what was the first capital of New Zealand.

For dining in Russel - we recommend the Duke of Marlborough on the waterfront, or Hone's Garden behind the Gables Restaurant - great wood fired pizza and craft beer!
Special conditions:
Minimum 2 night stay or 3 nights peak season.
Two persons maximum.
Please respect that smoking is not allowed at the cottage, inside or on the balcony.

We recommend use of smaller overnight bags or lighter bags that can be carried for taking items up to the cottage, as access is via a short uphill track with the bedroom on the upper level of the cottage (therefore not suitable for large suitcases).

Linen is provided as included in the rate. Includes bed linen, towels and tea-towels for the kitchen.

Access to the house was a little more challenging than expected, as were the stairs to the main bedroom. The house was clean, tidy and had amazing views. Communication with David was easy and we valued his recommendations for restaurants etc.

Tranquility in Russell

Beautiful location. The chalet was well kitted out. It was a little chilly in the winter so needed to use the fireplace. Would like to visit again in the summer.

Small but cozy, the deck out on to the view is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a wine or cup of tea. The sounds of kiwi calling in the wild as the sun is going down, amazing!

Fantastic place

Wonderful place in a wonderful location to spend some time just wish we could have stayed for longer. Had small issue on arrival which host resolved immediately - hopefully will get a chance to go back.

Private oasis!

One of the best vacation homes we have stayed in, could have sat on the deck and stared out at the ocean all day! Fun character, comfy bed and everything you need to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thank you David, we cannot wait to return!
