About this property

Magical West Coast Retreat

A truly magical setting in the heart of Bethells Beach township just a stones throw from the surf club on the edge of the Waitakere Ranges.

Stroll from the surf club along the beach and take in the wonder of the wild west coast, the scenery is spectacular!
Your accomodation provides the gateway to any number of incredible bush and beach walks or simply stay home and soak up the ambience of your bach with its landscaped garden and native flora.

If you've got kids then they're going to love boogie boarding down the awesome sand dunes on the edge of Lake Wainamu, there is plenty of safe swimming there too. For the more adventurous take a walk around the lake then cool off in the waterfalls.

There's also rock fishing and the well known O' Neils surf beach within walking distance and a 10 minute drive will take you to the Waitakere golf club with its amazing bush backdrop.

Through the winter, take one of the many local walks and return home to hot chocolate and a warm fire. Or alternatively, head to Henderson (20 mins drive) where you will find wave pools, movies, shopping, Crystal Mountain (theme park for kids) and other activities.

During the summer months sample some renowned West Coast food and drink at the Bethells Cafe.

Te Henge is a lifelong favourite beach of childhood so to be able to come back and stay onnits doorstep was a treat. The bach is prlerfect, homly, comfortable and a perfect location. A wonderful brief stay, if only we could stay longer.

Perfect weekend away

We loved our stay - perfection of the day spent hiking and on the beach, cozy mornings with coffee on the deck to the sounds of waves and evenings indoors, by the fire, with friends and their kids (and plenty of space for all). Awesome location, Bach private and homely. Thank you!

Great place to stay with our adult children

Lyn's place was spacious and clean. We stayed with our adult kids over the Christmas holidays. Having the sleepout was nice to allow us to spread out a bit. There was a power outage in the community and Lyn was so helpful. She arranged to have someone drop off a generator so that we could have power. Very happy with our stay :)

Decent basic stay

Decent place to stay, but when we arrived there was cat urine on the couch, cat hair all over the lounge, and a stench that was almost impossible to air out of the house. The manager was shocked (seems a previous guest brought a cat) but disappointingly didn't offer any compensation for our bother and discomfort. Nice location, but there are probably better places to stay.

Retreat to Relax Reset and Refocus

We needed a weekend away from the busy loud streets of Auckland, we picked here, it was perfect. Heaps of great conversations happening and planning as well as sleeping and eating. COSY! Lyn’s instructions was so clear for check in and check! Thank you again Lyn for letting us stay for weekend!

The location of this Bach can’t be beaten. Easy walk to the beach. The Bach was well equipped. Loved the bathroom! Good communication w Lyn. No cellphone reception but the wifi worked well.

Why they chose this property

Spending so much time at Bethells Beach with our family, we longed for a place of our own out here so when this beautiful place came on the market, we jumped at the chance.
It truly is a magical place!
