Lovely comfortable home with fabulous views. Dog friendly. Drive is a quite steep. We would definitely recommend. The host also gave great instructions and we arrived to several wonderful treats.

Excellent communication from Geoff was much appreciated from initial booking all the way through to the end of our stay.As a family of 6 from UK and Auckland, Atarangi retreat was a perfect size and well equipped with everything that we needed. It is in a great location and within easy reach of local beaches.The house itself is lovely and we very much enjoyed the garden and all the cute hidey holes to sit and read, not to mention the spa tub for an extra bit if luxury. We would highly recommend Atarangi retreat for families or a small group looking for a relaxing stay on Waiheke

Great Waiheke stay with kids ages 8 and 10

Perfect property for staying with kids ages 8 and 10. An easy walk to the beach and food. Kids loved the hot tub. Clean and easy to live in as a family.

Perfect place to ring in 2025

We had such a lovely stay here, and Geoff was kind and communicative. Everything was just as it appeared in the listing and the house is so nice and comfortable on beautiful grounds with impressive views.

Geoff was amazing and promptly replied to any questions or queries we had! The property is stunning and the photos don’t do it justice! Perfect location and an amazing view! Highly highly recommend :)

Beautiful place on Waiheke

Lovely property which is finished to a high end. Quite a lot of mosquitoes but they’ve got everything from mosquito spray to antihistamine cream. Lovely view and do able without a car to see the rest of the island.

Good but not great

Overall the place was great, lovely welcome gifts, and fantastic communication and check in process. We had some initial issue with the wifi and Mark was so great in helping sort it out over the phone and quickly. We felt very comfortable in the property and it really felt like we were staying at the house of some good friends. The views are amazing. We loved that Geoff and Mark set up the table tennis in the garage and we had a great time playing that! The Bose wireless speaker was charged and the kitchen had everything we needed. However, for the amount of money we paid, we felt the property could have been a bit more tidy. For example, there was rubbish left in the kitchen on our arrival, and the fridge drawer was full of leftover vegetables and half a bottle of milk. The pillows in the master need replacing or washing at least and the knives are pretty bad / blunt / broken. I would have appreciated some personal items being removed (however some of this contributed to a cozy feel).Overall, the place was good, but for the price point I would probably look at alternatives next time. I hope this review is helpful!

Relaxing weekend stay

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at this property to celebrate a significant birthday with family. THe property has amazing views, and the beautiful surrounding gardens meant that it was gorgeous to sit out on the deck with a cuppa or a wine. The property manager was extremely helpful and made the weekend very easy for us. The house is well maintained and there has been careful attention to detail in the way things have been set up for guests. The kids loved the spa and the table tennis table. I highly recommend!

Waiheke getaway

Great find! We’ve stayed at half a dozen different baches, but this one was easily the stand out. Such a great spot, private, beautiful views, and exactly what we’d hoped for. We’ll definitely be booking again!

A long weekend away

A fantastically presented property with some great views. Has to be smack in the middle of everywhere and no where is more than 15 mins away, including the ferries. The drive way is classically steep typical of the island so some caution there but of course you want the views.......

Dream birthday getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was lovely, nice and clean, great facilities - especially the spa pool which overlooks the valley behind the house, and the host made it really special with a cute welcome pack on the counter when we arrived, and excellent communication in the lead up to our stay. Highly recommended.
