Large Kiwi 'bach' property on the beachfront at beautiful Ruby Bay North facing, elevated with full views of the sea and Tasman bay from Nelson, D'Urville Island across to Abel Tasman.
Large very private deck and gardens running right on to the beach.
Nice grass front lawn, sun loungers. Safe swimming and boating ride in front of the house. Kayaks available for guest use
Cozie 'Firepit' for evening cooking or campfire. Gas BBQ
New kitchen. Beautiful bathroom with tiled double shower and basins
Fast broadband WIFI Small pool table

Note - This is our much loved holiday house, it meant to be enjoyed for summer holidays and long weekends.
It is not set up as a high end rental property.

The hourly Mapua ferry takes you across to the forests and ocean beach of Rabbit Island.

wine bar, cafes and craft shops. 15 Wineries with 10mins. drive.

Excellent bush walks just 500mtrs. away

Enjoy amazing sun and moon rises from the large private deck.

Fantastic views

The sea views are stunning from the kitchen and living areas. This is the standout feature of this beachfront property. It is accurately described as a 'kiwi bach' rather than a holiday home. A 'lived in' family bach... a little tired around the edges in places. One of our group noted that a couple of the current photos are out of date...new kitchen and open plan living areas now. Both a bonus.😊 We enjoyed our stay in the area and loved the views.

Great beach front batch.

Fabulous spot right on the lovely Ruby Bay shore. We stayed for 5 days and very much enjoyed the personality and quirks of this place. Great kitchen and living areas walking right out onto decks with perfect views of Tasman Bay. Lovey breeze so no mosquitos, incredible mornings and evenings from the kitchen window. Things to know: You are clearly staying in the owners full time place, so its not a sterile hotel room. There are personal items surrounding you- and the place is obviously used. The bedrooms are on the road side of the place - so there's a bit of car noise , was not a problem for us and every place down the stretch will be the same. There are ants- We were warned about this from the owner- we weren't bothered by them and kept the kitchen clean as not to attract more. But its a thing so better to be aware of it. We really enjoyed the spot - And the owners were easy and pleasant to deal with .

Trying to modify our booking with bookabach was hopeless. The website is based in Texas and set up to be user unfriendly. The local NZ owner was very helpful and available at all times.

Great Location

Really enjoyed our stay at Ruby Bay. The property was ideally located. It was great being so close to the ocean. Owner's communication was good. Unfortunately the condition of some of the items listed in the advert were in poor condition. Several plugs didn’t work, the dart board didn’t have any numbers, pool que ends missing on all but one que and the kayaks had holes in the bottom. This was disappointing as some of the items had attracted us to the listing. This is our reason for scoring the listing a 4/5. Other than the items listed above, our stay was satisfactory. A great kiwi bach.

Magic Spot Right On The Beach

Loved the entire experience, great bach in a great area really close to Nelson and other amazing parts like Kaiteriteri. Will be staying there again.

Beach view Ruby Bay

This is a quiet location with great sea views and sunshine. We walked to mapua in about forty minutes to enjoy the restaurants and cafes. Plenty room in the property and everything you need to be comfortable. Spent a great couple of evenings outside by the fire pit while star gazing Nick was very quick to respond to any questions or issues. Would recommend.
