About this property

Black Cedar Escape- A Chalet for Every Season

Nestled among red cedars and golden fields, Black Cedar Escape is a handcrafted chalet that offers a balance of modern amenities with cozy charm. With its bold black exterior and warm light filled interior, the space was designed for both rest and connection with nature. Wake to fog rolling across the fields, hear birdsong in the distance, and unwind in a space that feels both grounding and inspiring. We hope our home, built from the heart, makes you feel as relaxed and comfortable as we do.

Our 2 bedroom + loft, 1 bathroom newly built house sits on half an acre which provides ample space and privacy to enjoy this peaceful place. You'll find polished concrete floors and custom finishing throughout.

Wake up to a magical field view from the master bedroom as morning fog rises, offering a serene and mystical experience. The wood stove makes all of your hygge vibes a reality in the colder months.

The kitchen is fully equipped with state of the art appliances, high quality organic spices and oils, and all of the essential tools for gourmet home cooked meals. We are only 5 minutes outside of town which makes accessing grocery stores and restaurants a breeze.

We include organic linens for each bed, and use non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout the home. *Please avoid strong fragrances due to a scent allergy.

We do have wildlife cross through the property often, and we have security cameras around the perimeter to see who comes and goes to ensure safety.

We have big plans to add a bathhouse/sauna in the next year, so stay tuned for updates!

Spring/Summer activities that are close by include:
- different hand launches along the stunning Shuswap River for floating, paddle-boarding, kayaking, canoeing, or even whitewater rafting
- Mabel Lake Resort and Marina for swimming, boating, golfing, food, and more (25mins)
- many beaches and amazing hiking (Enderby Cliffs) and biking trails
- visit local farmer's markets, wineries, and unique stores a plenty

Fall/Winter activities include:

My husband convinced me to move to his hometown of Enderby after we lived together in Kelowna for 5 years. We had visited lots, but it was time to escape the busy city life and enjoy being immersed in nature. We originally built a house in a development right in town, but after a year there we decided to utilize the property he bought off of his dad when he was younger.

Why they chose this property

It's crazy to think of where it all started with this property. When I first visited, it was covered in trees and completely overgrown and natural. We cleared an area for what we planned as a shop footprint, and the ideas evolved after that. The serene quiet, the natural beauty, and the woodland visitors make it a very special spot.

What makes this property unique

Even though we are only 5 minutes from town, you feel like you're miles away from others. The community nearby keeps to themselves and we all respect each others privacy. There aren't many places where you have access to both the convenient essentials of town and the feeling of a secluded retreat!
