The house was clean and comfortable. It was in a very quiet location but still close to everything. We had everything we needed for our family of four.
The place was nice and big and had everything we needed. It was clean and the beds were comfy. We liked the beach access point. The only downside for me was no A/C but we knew that before coming and they had a lot of fans to help make it comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage/home. Located in a very quiet area, the home had many updates throughout. The beds seemed new and were very comfortable, and everything was clean. The private access to Lake Michigan was just a short drive or walk down the road -- so convenient! We had a lovely stay and would definitely return!
Walk to the beach was not great. Best to use a car. The beach was beautiful. The house was great. I wish the house had air conditioning. It was very hot.
The house was great, had all the amenities we needed. Close to several beaches in the area. Only reason I rated neighbored a 4 is because the road was not suitable for kids to take their bikes on safely. One thing that would’ve been great would be to have a more defined fire pit area.
I think the back yard would of looked better if grass was mowed otherwise the property was perfect we saw a fox, cyotoe & 3 does & 2 fawns

Relax on the edge of Manistee
The house was amazingly clean. The bedrooms were all very comfortable. The walk to the beachfront is about 3/4 of a mile. Lake Michigan is always awesome!

If it weren't for one major thing, this would be a 4 or 5 star review
I will start by saying the guest contact is very responsive to issues. Prior to our arrival, the owner had replaced a portion of roof which was damaged during spring thaw. So when we detected an odor, the first thought was it was related to the roof. The owner immediately sent out a handyman and then a 24 hour emergency service to check for mold. Although both individuals detected an odor, they could not find the source. It was much worse on the days and nights when the heater frequently operated. Long story short, we dealt with a highly unpleasant odor for a week which strongly curtailed our use and enjoyment of this property. The owner did give us some compensation. I'm not gong to speculate in a review as to the odor's source. As to the rest of the property- they've put effort into upgrading the kitchen and bathroom, and everything is well appointed and works well. Kitchen is nice and bright. IT could use a Keurig rather than a drip coffee maker, especially if you only need one or two cups of coffee. The addition on the back of the house is pleasant. Deer and other wildlife frequently pass through from the adjacent woods and you'll have a good view from this room. The queen size bed was quite comfortable. Overall, it's quiet but I wouldn't guarantee the same between Memorial Day and Labor Day when more people drive to the lake. Before the trees leave out, it is possible to see the lake to the west from the front of the house. The deeded access down the road is nice and belongs to the Red Apple Road Association. For those unfamiliar with Michigan, you cannot walk above the shoreline or linger on privately owned beachfront, so it's nice to have a small piece of property where you can do this. We only saw two other association members using the property the few times we went down there. Magoon Creek and Sundling Park to the south on Red Apple are nice public beaches which I recommend visiting.Be careful of the front steps to the house. They are odd sized and easy to stumble from. There were ticks while we visited. I would not go beyond any mowed areas on the property.
