Other Things to Note
Cremorne is the perfect base for experiencing Vivid Sydney without the crowds.
If you love the magic of the festival but prefer to avoid the hustle, simply cross the road to Cremorne Reserve. Located at the end of Cremorne Point on the northern side of the harbour, this peaceful green space offers stunning, uninterrupted views of the lights minus the chaos of the city centre.
Vivid Sydney runs from 22 May to 13 June 2026.
A picnic basket and rug are provided. Find a quiet patch of grass and watch the city light up as the sun sets!
Arrival
By ferry:
Cremorne Point Wharf has reopened and the walk around is mostly level, with only a small number of steps required to access the property from the rear.
The same ferry service also operates from Old Cremorne; the walk from there takes a few minutes longer and includes some stairs from the wharf and along the foreshore path. A little more exercise and an opportunity to take in the gardens
By car:
If arriving by car, please note that access to the apartment involves a flight of exterior stairs (one level down from the street) The property may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
I’m happy to meet you on arrival to assist with bags - just let me know your expected arrival time in advance.
The Area
The apartment sits beside a clifftop along the scenic Cremorne Walk, offering spectacular harbour views and a peaceful, nature-filled setting. Wander past historic gardens, take the hidden steps down to the water, or visit the nearby heritage lighthouse. The area is rich with birdlife and in the early morning, you may even hear the animals across the water at Taronga Zoo.
As evening falls, the terrace becomes a tranquil retreat - perfect for a quiet drink as dusk settles over the harbour.
On weekends and during warmer months, the harbour is alive with boats and celebration out on the water. While the area is generally calm, you may hear some vibrant harbour activity; most guests feel this adds to the character and charm of the location rather than detracting from it.
Cremorne Point is a protected nature reserve and home to some impressively confident (and noisy) local birdlife. The resident brush turkeys are known to wander by and may help themselves to unattended snacks if given the chance.
Children & Pets
Due to the apartment’s direct access to the harbour reserve and waterfront, the property may not be suitable for young children or dogs.
That said, we understand it’s not always easy to travel without family. We’re happy to discuss options to help accommodate children or dogs safely.
Please send us a message before booking so we can talk through the setup and confirm whether the property will be a good fit.

About the host
Hosted by Mel Ryan.
I've grown up in Sydney and love travelling and my experiences staying in private homes have been wonderful and I'm excited about 'paying it forward' and sharing my little slice of Sydney Harbour. I love being able to swim every morning and the best days include a ferry to the city or over to Manly. I work in Education and have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. It's always fun to meet people from other places and a privilege to be able to share some of Sydney.
Why they chose this property
