Joe was the best host we could have asked for he was very welcoming and had some very cool stories to tell. He was very accommodating and nice! The property was beautiful and had some cool sights to see. Overall an excellent experience and we will definitely be back!
Loved the cottonwood cabin. Joe was most hospitable and available whenever we needed him. I found him to be gentleman and his hospitality was excellent. I really enjoyed talking to him and he made my son and I feel very welcome. 5 star location and a 5 star host.We would definately come and stay again. Thank you Sir.
Excellent location for our primary purpose of fishing. Lots of interesting locations close by for touring when not fishing. Less than an hour to Waterton NP. Cabin was nice and quiet. Lots of wildlife and bird viewing from both decks. Solar power with generator backup worked great. No internet at cabin but that was a nice break. A short walk closer to main house connects you. Facilities at cabin were excellent. Joe our host was very knowledgeable on good fishing holes and local restaurants and sights. We will be coming back.
We had an amazing time, the area is beautiful, the cabin was amazing and the hosts were freiendly and incredibly helpful. The river access and the fishing was great. We would love to come back and enjoy some more time there.
Really enjoyed our stay, very private and a beautiful view of the landscape from the cabin. A nice shirt drive to the river where it's just as private. Joe was a very gracious host, answering any questions we had. Definitely looking forward to coming back.
If you are looking for quiet and a whole heap of nature in a rustic cabin this is the place for you. Joe is a great host and was very helpful. The cabin is very spacious and has beds for 6 plus a sofa bed plus additional roll outs. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cutlery, utensils, pans etc. A large set up for solar powered electricity meant there was plenty of hot water and we didn’t have any issues for what we needed.Joe is still working on things as this is a relatively new rental set up. In order to get cell phone signal or wifi you need to be higher up on the hill or just a little bit behind the cabin in the field. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you are trying to disconnect! Joe is currently working with the telecom people to add a booster so this is a temporary situation. The beauty of this place is the peace and quiet, the river nearby, the birds (of all kinds), the deer, the scenic views and remoteness. While we are not into fishing, this place seems like a fishing heaven based on the location and there’s even maps in the cabin to indicate all the best spots. But when you need a change it’s only a 40 minute drive to Waterton Lake - which is has a Banff like feel without all the crowds (take a walk along the path by the lake) and 10 minutes drive to Pincher Creek, which has grocery, liquor store and others including SEEDs cafe - for the absolute best coffee.Would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful stay at Joe’s ranch cabin. It’s truly a dog-lover’s haven and had everything we could have asked for — privacy, comfort, and the freedom to be as quiet or as lively as we wanted. The river was amazing, with plenty of walking paths for adventures. The beds were cozy, the fire pit and cowboy hot tub were fantastic, and the night sky was breathtaking. We loved cooking all our meals outside on the barbecue. Joe was a super welcoming host, and we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway.
Could not think of a better place to get away from it all. Peaceful, quiet and private.Amazing property hosted by an absolute gentleman. There is not much better than sitting under the stars in a wood fired hot tub after a day of fishing and exploring nature. Thanks so much Joe!
Fantastic peaceful paradise! We sat at the riverbank for hours and watched pelicans, lots of hawks, swallows and kingfisher! We even saw a badger across the river. It looked nice and fat and happy! Saw 2 young deer in the meadow behind the hot tub. And wow! Weve never been in a wood fired hot tub with "cowboy jets" before! (aka a paddle). Super quiet nights for sleeping, just the wind in the trees and owls hooting. Joe was very attentive and a real authentic cowboy, yet he gave us complete privacy. A
A perfect getaway for the outdoor lover!! This property is magical. The cabin includes everything you will need during your stay. Joe is an amazing and caring host. He was attentive to our needs and always available if needed.
If you like peace and quiet and do not want the hassle, planning and complications of off the grid tent camping, this cabin offers all the amenities you will need while still giving you the feel of camping (but a cozy hideout if the weather takes a turn). Our host was close by if we needed anything, but, honestly, everything was pretty straight forward, including the cowboy hot tub. It was so nice to be able bring our pups on this adventure as well. Everyone enjoyed the experience and we hope to plan another visit to this little piece of Albertan paradise. Thank you, Joe!
